A day in the life....Ring Ring....Kaibab Lodge, this is Jean. How may I help you?
I'd like to enquire about my reservation?
Sure, do you have your confirmation number?
Yes, it's 88824.
I'm sorry, but that's not our confirmation system. Are you sure you are registered here?
Yes. I've got Kaibab Lodge written down.
When is your reservation for and what is your name?
It's for August 23rd and my name is Jane D....
I rummage around in our files. No Jane D....I'm sorry, but we don't have a reservation here for you.
But I wrote down Kaibab Lodge! I booked through the Friendship Group.
I'm really sorry, but we don't have you in our files. That is not our confirmation number system. We do not use the Friendship Group as a booking agent. This is a privately owned Lodge. I don't know where you booked in, but it wasn't here.
But I called you on this number!!!!
Yes I know. But you are not registered here.
But my confirmation number is....
MA-AM! YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED HERE!!!!!
But I wrote down Kaibab Lodge......

Well THERE you are! Thought maybe one of the crazies there had already done a job on you!! Now, I just know I made my reservation there...are you sure you're looking in the right area? I have all of my info written down right here....may I speak to the manager please, or someone competent???

How is it there this year? Is the space lady still there? Has she gone on any recent trips? Is the drunken chef there? Do the owners have a clue yet?? C'mon, give with the dirt already!!!

Drunken chef...gone! Actually he's in jail for assault. Alien lady ( my best friend there actually) what does that say about me? She thinks her eggs are too old now to be desirable to the Aliens. Things have tightened up a LOT, it's a totally different place...for now. We lost another worker today though.
Another registering guest, on the same day, no less.

I'd like to reserve a room with one double bed for August 3rd and 4th please.
All went well and I got her booked in and she had paid for her first nights stay. Almost $100.00 Then...
Who are you?
My name is Jean, I replied brightly.
No, I mean, what Lodge is this?
This is the Kaibab Lodge.
Where is that?
On the the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Oh! Oh, okay....

Hi, Sparkle! This Kaibab Lodge sounds rather unique, for want of a better word to describe it! I can't wait to hear about more episodes in your daily life there! And see some pictures of it, too! It's nice to hear that the boss lady is happy with Echo and Kelly...I hope they are happy, as well.
Regards to you all up on that north rim!

Happy travels!

LOL....Sparkle.....while home caring for my Mom, found out that the neighbor-folks are coming there in August......talking with Bob, the neighbor, he's telling me about this great Lodge he found at the Grand Canyon...I say, Oh, really...what's the name.....he tell me Kaibab Lodge....I start giggling and tell him I know a couple of the workers there....So, here's the "heads up".....if, Bob & Sylvia, from PA, say Hi.....from Lori....it's them ;) .....use to baby-sit their kids in my youth....nice folks, but can be picky ......I think he said their grown kids & grand-kids are coming, too....

Lot of strange people out there wandering around. Glad you got a chance to post. And let your friend know that eggs never get to old for aliens - learned that on StarTrek. Take care of yourself and say hi to Echo and daughter.

Good to hear from you Sparkle, love the stories. Amazing isn't it, there seems to be alien minds everywhere who haven't a clue. I hope the management continues to be better than last year. And that you, Echo and Wicked Girl have some good times in spite of all the hard work.

What a small world it is, rvgrammy's neighbors are coming. Oh and maybe you shouldn't share Carols egg info from StarTrek it might set your friend off again!

I'm loving these stories. But I must have missed something about the Alien Lady?

I'm glad you all are having at least some fun. Do you get to spend any time with Echo and/or Wicked?

Lori, I'm always expecting to hear a familiar name, so I'll be looking out for your friends. Alien Lady. I just love her, she is so much fun. She believes she has been visited by Aliens many times, starting in childhood. As she matured she told me they were stealing her eggs to breed with their species. I went to Roswell and sent her a card saying I didn't see anybody who resembled her, they must have all gone to the home planet. She told me she woke up one night and her pyjamas were off and she was kinda dampish? She thought the Aliens had visited. I told her it was a wet dream.

Message on the answering machine. Good morning. I'd like to make a reservation for September 9th. Please give a call back at....
So I do. Ring ring! Hi, this is Jean at the Kaibab Lodge and I do have cabins available for September 9th. Would you like to make that reservation now?
Oh Hi. I'm so glad you called me back. You did my hair last year and it was a nice bob in the back.
Short silence while I gather my wits. Ma'am, this is a Lodge. We don't do hair.
Oh! Well I'd like to make a reservation for June.
You said September on the machine.
Oh. Maybe I'll better call you back.

I could not make this stuff up!!!!
