Let's start our day with a good morning here.

May 6th~Int'l No Diet Day

Mornin' ladies~~~

Yes, today is International No Diet Day. Good reason to cheat if you ask me. I had a chocolate croissant for breakfast. How about you? It's also Great Lakes Awareness Day. Just some topics for conversation.

A bit more driving today then I'll be parked for a semi-rainy week near the Great Sand Dunes.

Have a good day ladies. Stay dry and safe if you are in the path of storms.

Good morning gals!

Being lazy in bed yet. Have a list of things to do before going to work later this afternoon. Need to clean up the house since the home inspector and buyer and coming tomorrow.

We are in May Gray now, cloudy cool spring weather here. Fine by me! Will have searing heat to deal with soon enough! Already hitting 100* in the Palm Springs area now. :o

Hoping to hear back from the vet about Lola's test results. May have to call them. The special food and meds are not working.

Cheryl, enjoy Colorado (in spite of the rain!) Check out Manitou Springs if you haven't already. Just outside of Colorado Springs. And of course, Garden of the Gods!

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I didn't know it was International No Diet Day so I only had my egg and 1 slice of bacon. There was a Funnel Cake cart at the campground but it wasn't open. If I had known it was No Diet Day I could have made a Funnel Cake. My club meeting is tonight and we are meeting at one of the Pizza places so I can do the not diet tonight. lol

I got home about 3:30 yesterday afternoon. I had to unload the camper because I had an appointment to bring it to the shop today. When I made the appointment only the satellite wasn't working. Then the tank heater started falling off and I think it pulled the tank sensors loose. The tank heater is only a heated pad that is glued to the tank. I have heard of this happening to others. If I ever have a choice I don't think I would order a tank heater. Yesterday after I got the tanks dumped I went to put some water and chemicals in the black tank and the pedal on the toilet broke. I'm sure glad it didn't happen before then. We would have had to move to a site closer to the bath house. I managed to get most of the yard mowed before dark.

I picked Sweetie Pie up and the vet wants her caged for a while so she doesn't jump up and down on furniture. I put her in a big dog kennel I have in the old house and she is not happy about that. At least I can't hear her complain.

We have 2 days of clear weather and then a week of rain. Oh joy. I better get the rest of the yard mowed.

Another beautiful spring day. Had a brief rain shower last night. Been opening up the house each evening. I don't do "diets", I simply have a way of eating (at or near zero carb) that feels comfortable to me and won't be altering that! Trudging on getting stuff done in yard, RV, and the house. Off to Curves.

Hi ladies! I am taking advantage of the no diet day today, because my nerves are shot, but I'll get back on track tomorrow. For those not on FB, we are victims of identity theft and had our credit cards and Steve's phone scammed. We have a working Discover Card again, but thanks to one of you here, am rethinking that, since that was one of the cards scammed, but right now, that is the only credit card we have. We only have so much cash with us and we aren't back in MD yet. With the weather they're having there with the horrendous rain, we're better off here in NC. We've put in applications for credit cards with two large institutions and are hoping one or both of those will come through. I read here daily but I've been living in a fog and know I'm not thinking straight. Wishing all of you the best.

Irmi, sorry to hear about your credit card problems. One of my biggest fears. I only have 2 and one is American Express. They seem to be on top of things. A lot of stores use to not take American Express but it's a lot better now. I won't let the card companies raise the amount of credit. If you don't stop them they will have the credit limit so high you could buy a car.

Irmi, I'm so sorry that happened. Hope over time you can give more details to help us all learn prevention. How was the phone scammed? What type phone? I have had my CC used 3 times by others, but the credit union caught it each time so no $$ lost. The pain was waiting to have new CC delivered. Do check with your insurance , our USAA provides help and assistance in cases of identity theft.

So sorry to hear of your difficulties, Irmi. What a major hassle, hope every thing gets ironed out sooner rather than later.

Personally speaking, I don't do any kind of business - banking, purchasing, reservations, nothing - using my smartphone.

My son-in-law is an Information Technology trouble-shooter, and he says it is also risky to even do such things on a home computer. That got my ears standing up, for sure.

Barbie~ I spent 6 summers wandering around the front range and Colorado Springs, so I've been to most of the big tourist spots already. Besides those mentioned, also Bishops Castle, Pikes Peak, the Air Force Academy, wolf sanctuary and alot of other places. I'll probably skip that area for now, but never say never. ;)

I only wish I knew what happened. I very seldom use my credit card online but about a week ago, one week ago today, I paid $ 30.00 for a KOA card so we could use it as we made our cross country trip. Ten minutes later, our Discover Card emailed me that they were sending us new cards, but not to us but to an address in Atlanta GA. Things went downhill from there very quickly. A couple days later, we put our car in shop and knew we couldn't use our Discover Card so Steve used our Master Card, that we had been with since 1986, and we were denied. Fortunately, I had enough cash to pay for the repair. When we got out to the car, I tried to call Master Card to see what was going on and Steve's phone had been cut off. So I used my phone to call Verizon and they said someone else was using his number for calls and texts. That number was deactivated and now Steve has a new number after having the same number for 20 years. We are very disgusted but what can we do? If there were any charges on our credit cards, we won't be held responsible. It's the aggravation of the whole episode. We only have so much cash with us and since we only have a new Discover Card, that we're scared to use, we're up a creek. That's it in a nut shell.

I am surprised that Mastercard would send new cards out to a new address without calling you or somehow verifying it. I have had my credit cards used by others a couple of times over the past ten years and Visa called me within a couple of hours to verify the charges because they were out of my usual buying area. I think I was in Arizona and the charges were made in the northeast.

One thing you can do when you get your new cards is to call the three credit agencies and put a lock on your accounts. In other words, you want to stop anyone from opening new cards in your name without going through a verification process. You also should check each of those agencies to make sure the ID theft people have not done even more.

About 30 years ago when I was broke and trying to raise two kids on my own, someone stole my checkbook from the desk where I kept it while I was working at a college. Luckily, I had just bought gas and had left my credit card in my coat pocket, so at least I had access to money. They passed bad checks for over a year, and each time I had to turn in a crime report to the credit agencies. Part of the problem was that instead of reporting the theft as a stolen checkbook, the bank closed my account and then reported every check that came in as "insufficient funds"!! I was furious because the credit agencies thought I was the bad check passer! And because my driver's license was also stolen, I had no ID.

Judy, I neglected to say that just yesterday, we signed up with Life Lock and hope this will alleviate whatever happened. Before Discover Card sent us our new cards, they went through a series of security questions with us to make sure they knew who we were but Master Card did not, so in a way, I'm glad they refused to send us new cards, even though we had been with them for over 30 years. We'll get through this but it has been aggravating, to say the least.

I'm sorry you went through that. Some people are just cruel.

If you decide to freeze your credit be sure and keep up with the codes they give you. I can't even get a card in my name unless I unfreeze my account with all three credit bureaus.

Got in touch with the vet finally. The blood work came back looking good for most everything. Just the liver test was slightly off. She thinks there may be a slight infection somewhere or IBD. She is prescribing a steroid along with the meds I am already giving Lola and see if things improve. She said stress might be a contributing factor. There has been a lot of people coming thru the house lately and both cats get very stressed by that. Otherwise the vet says the blood work looks very good for a cat her age, so that was good to hear.

Fleas are back in force tho  . I have been giving them their monthly Advantage II, but I am still getting bit. Maybe I should put that on me too! :o Or I could put flea collars around my ankles! My legs look awful with all the bites. Won't look too great wearing shorts for awhile  . Will have to do more flea bombs and wash everything again. My vacuum cleaner broke so I am bringing that in to get fixed. Need that to vacuum the big rugs that can't go in the wash machine. I sure don't want to bring those critters to the new place!

Off to bed soon...
