First Friday of May

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

First Friday of May

Postby Colliemom » Fri May 03, 2019 5:41 am

Good Morning. Cloudy and cool this morning but supposed to see some sunshine later today. Temps heading into 50’s. Tad bit below normal, but warming up as weekend heads into next week. Beth, the snow and cold you are having is not headed this way :) Been a crazy spring all over.

Ouch, Barbie. Walking into sliding glass doors is not recommended as part of one’s day :o I have fortunately have never done that with mine. Maybe cause it’s closed all the time except for warmer weather months. Looks like a pretty expensive day for you yesterday. Hope Lola gets to feeling better. Good luck with your carport sale. Things seems to be progressing smoothly as far as selling and moving are concerned. O’Sharon, you are going to love those vent covers. I have had them on my last two trailers and leave my vents open all the time unless it’s cool weather when I am camping. I also leave them cracked open during winter storage and when my trailer is just parked here in my yard.

Checked out the new Farm and Fleet store over near Traverse City yesterday. Wow, it’s impressive. It is Grand Opening for 3 days starting yesterday and it was just mobbed. Had to prowl the parking lot for awhile before finding a spot and once inside it was wall to wall people. They had a lot of specials which is why I went over. I saved some Green on a few things including a new step ladder which was $20 off regular price and also a 7 ft. Which is hard to find. Wanted another bit taller one to keep in garage, so my 6ft one can stay in basement. Can see up on trailer roof and in my gutters easier, among other things with that added foot. Took awhile to get through checkout with all the people, but when it’s a cloudy damp day, who cares. Everybody was being patient.

Need to run a few errands this morning and make arrangements to get trailer dewinterized etc. New window blinds are in garage awaiting my installation. Lyn will be wandering down this way shortly, so fun time coming up. At least weather is going to cooperate.

Guess I had better get a move on, finish breakfast, need my morning fruit :), and then get cleaned up, get this day moving. Have a great day all.

I have had a busy morning. Had to go to town and run errands before the weekend. I like to stay put on the weekends. Went to one of the local markets selling wild caught steelhead for $5.99 lb I bought 2 packages. Then hit the dollar store as I needed a couple of cards and it is next door to the local market. Went to Costco, $$$ always and it was super crowded today. Lots buying plants. Got gas there too good grief $3.33 gal. Then headed to the grocery store as I needed some staples. Can't buy everything at Costco I need smaller quantities. Bought a roasted chicken at Costco so Emma and I had some chicken for lunch. She was delighted. Now getting ready to make a Caramel Mocha and relax. I will need to repackage my salmon in the morning for the freezer. Will make my Food Saver hummmmmm.

Will spend the weekend puttering. Oh yeah I need to make a trip to Home Depot as I need more garden mulch and the plan is...........to plant those tomatoes tomorrow. We have had frost every morning this week but I didnt hear the wind machines in the Pear orchard today. I am thinking tomorrow should be frost free LOL

Not much going on, other than watching the ocean and campers coming in and deciding on which of the first-come, first-served sites they will choose. The no-hookups tent sites right on the bluff with ocean views are the best sites, but I am just across from them.

Been busy grading papers, which is an unending task, but I did get ambitious and made some chicken noodle soup. Also, trying the three kinds of pastries I got yesterday at the Waldport Sour dough bakery. It is hidden down a side street and only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but it has excellent bread and pastries. I may go again tomorrow to dump my tanks and stock up on some goodies for my freezer! The citrus cheesecake was wonderful, and I still have half of the one I bought, but I don't think it will keep a long time in the freezer so I will not buy any more. Wish I had enough space to freeze a loaf of bread.

Heading to Bullard's Beach tomorrow. Life is nice and slow as a full-timer. I watch all the people coming and going, and almost all stay only a couple of days, while I get to stay much longer and enjoy the view, the breeze, and the sound of waves. Nice life!!!!

I am headed out to take a walk before it gets cold. The fog bank has been way out to sea most of today, but it is heading closer to shore, so will be chillier soon.

busy day got the truck oiled ...checked over the A/C hasn't been chillen much it has a leak but not enough time to do it today will take a couple of days...that is good as it will cost a lot to fix more the service than the part... so hopefully will be able to afford it before I go south for the winter... they filled it so it was actually been than before...the slide was a easy fix it was out of fluid or very low... so should have checked it out just didn't think of it ...I am afraid that he filled it too full. but will see in the morning. dd was busy which I knew hopefully will see her in the morning but have my doubts she has a school play coming up next week so needs to work on sets... turns out the play is on a night that she needs to attend a banquet/award night for one of her daughter's... if they only let them know further ahead of time she could have scheduled the play for another night... the play sounds really cute the kids wrote it themselves so supper short but will be good I am sure... too bad she won't be there
went to the store to get ice cream bought it put it in the cart got to the restaurant after bring Shadow home and got to thinking I didn't remember taking the ice cream out of the cart... oops called and they said to bring in the receipt and I can get some ice cream... think I will give it to dd don't like driving after dark clear across the valley and I don't wanna go.. hopefully she will
just saw a grass hopper in the trailer ugh went where I can't get to it right now hopefully tomorrow when I get stuff out and in proper place
will leave tomorrow for my northern home will be good to see the kids up there
tonight I need to put stuff back that has come out of it's place
bought books the other day and was missing one of the month's so today looked for it got it and one that I thought i had but didn't see it in my list so picked it up hmm got it out of the bag and set it next to the one I thought I had... so had to go back and return them like the books but so don't need two of them
just one of those days I guess
