Last Dsy of April

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Dsy of April

Morning. End of another month. Feels more like October than April. Temps in 30’s this morning and wet outside, making it damp. I so want to be outside doing things and monkeying around inside my trailer. Having a debate over whether to leave cornices up and no curtains, which is where I am right now, or put up curtains, take the cornices down, or use both. Couple other ideas floating around in my head too.

Barbie, had to laugh at your mini golf outing. Guess you won’t have to worry about trying for the Masters next year  Karen, sounds like you got a lot accomplished yesterday. Our last frost/freeze date is around end of May but I don’t plant stuff anyway as I’m too busy playing in the summer to bother with it. Do have a perennial bed though, that takes care of itself for the most part. Beth, don’t chajust love coming home to a dog full of energy when all you want to do is plop  ,been there done that many times. Just wait till we go camping, then my two will be wiped out by day’s end

i had a good selling day like Barbie did yesterday in that I sold my old refrigerator. Had it listed with a local Buy, Sell, Trade Group here on FB but wasn’t getting any response other than one lady. Was going to list on Craigslist, but decided to go with FB Marketplace first. Put it out there on Sunday evening and yesterday morning, had 5 responses, was sold before noon :D
Hmm, wonder what else I can sell. The house maybe

Mornin' Sue & all that follow~~~
Finished most of the waterfall tour in Iowa and now parked just north of Kansas City, MO. Took a rock in the windshield causing a good crack. Have an appointment for Wednesday to get it fixed at the CG. Fingers crossed the thunderstorms end so it can get done. Severe weather expected today with a medium chance of tornadoes, but they think those may stay south of I-70. Tornados are the worst thing about the midwest. I hate the randomness of them and little or no warning. Hope Lyn isn't in the path. Anyone know her current location?

That's it from me. Have a good day and stay safe wherever you are.

Lots of snow here overnight and it's to continue all day. Should be interesting. And last I saw it'll possibly continue into tomorrow. The high today is only 32/33 degrees, luckily low only 27 (even though it shows 24 right now lol... They call this last night's low).

I have to get ready for work and get Ty walked. I'm looking forward to things starting to warm back up Thursday. The way this spring is going I'm not counting on anything lasting though.

Hey! I am safe in Green Bay, WI. Looking for a Wal mart to buy more propane canisters for the buddy heater! I am safe from tornadoes but may freeze from the cold! Gads, what happened to spring?
Heading to the UP and Michigan St Parks. Rained all day yesterday. So far, no rain today.
Tomorrow is the first. If no Mc Donalds, no report. Lyn

Another warm and windy day. At least it's warm and I don't have to run a heater. My last electric bill was $75. Since the air conditioner is running now the next one will be twice that.

Yesterday when I was in town I stopped at the vet's office to see if they could keep Stinky this weekend. The vet told me he had showed Sweetie Pie's X-Ray to another vet and she thought the pin could come out. I brought her in this morning for another X-Ray to see if anything has changed. Something is hurting her because she is hopping on 3 legs again.

They are resurfacing our highway again so it's down to one lane where they are working. If I remember before I get caught up in traffic I can take a back road. I need to check and see if I'm getting tar on my car.

My stomach is upset today and the only thing I had yesterday that might be a little different was some Hibiscus Tea. I had never tried it before and think I'll wait a while before I try it again.

Good morning.

Still feeling really down about my daughter. Such a huge disappointment for me after waiting so long for her to finally turn 18. I didn't sleep very well last night. Didn't get to sleep until after 3am. I need to keep focused on my move tho.

I have someone coming out this afternoon to look at my kitchen table.

Sue, I have those cornices in the new bedroom and want to have them removed. Makes the room look too dark and heavy over the windows with all the other built-in cabinets around them. I hope they are fairly easy to take down. Will replace them with valances. (I didn't know what those were called until you mentioned it. Thank you.)

I need to find some motivation today to get at least a few things done around here. I made an appointment for a home inspection for next Tuesday but I haven't even gotten my work schedule for next week yet. Am hoping I have Monday and Tuesday off so I can go out there for it. Should know today. I hate that they wait so long to put out the schedule. Makes it hard to make plans.

Beth, sorry to hear about the snow. Hope it warms up soon for you! And same for Lyn. Spring in the midwest can come and go until the end of May sometimes.

Cheryl, I hope you share your photos of the waterfall tour. Would love to see those. With all the rain they have had out there recently, I am sure the waterfalls were magnificent!

Raining again here today. Nothing heavy, just off and on light showers. We need it. Had some downpours yesterday tho and the creek was running pretty high again for a few hours.

Tonight/tomorrow is "Rabbits" time again...

Welcome to the Great Lakes States, Lyn. Sometimes spring does not come until late May or June, with leaves on trees not appearing until early June. And be prepared that you can have snow in June in the UP! Even in the lower peninsula, we never put plants out until May 15, and it would be at least June 1 in the UP! The good news is that the roads and campgrounds will not be crowded!!!

One really neat place to stay in the eastern UP is a city campground along the St. Mary's River, just east of the Soo Locks in Sault St. Marie, MI. The big ships leave Lake Superior through the locks and head to Lake Huron and are very close to shore there--https://www.saultcity.com/aune-osborn-campground. Duluth is probably out of your way, but it is really a very neat city. Other towns wrth visiting are Marquette, Munising, and St. Ignace in Michigan. Hope you take the ferry to Mackinac Island.

(And while you are in the UP, an interesting story is how that became part of Michigan. When they were blocking off borders of states in the very early 1800s, there was a thin strip of land on the southern border of the Michigan Territory that had Lake Erie access. It was part of Michigan, but Ohio wanted it, sparking the "Toledo War." Eventually, Michigan agreed to give it away in exchange for the entire Upper Peninsula, which was thought to be a useless piece of land way back then. https://www.mlive.com/entertainment/201 ... nsula.html)

I drove out to the nearby town to dump my tanks yesterday and made some necessary phone calls. I am trying to get my cataract surgery scheduled for mid-July. Then, I will need an upper eyelid lift sometime in August or September. Eyelids are resting on my eye lashes and making it hard to open my eyes all the way, so all we be paid for by insurance.

Judy, Lyn is heading to Ely, MN so she will have to go thru Duluth to get there. I told her that the drive from Duluth up along the north shore of Lake Superior is awesome! Hopefully, there won't be any snow along her route.

It is awesome, and even more awesome is the drive north of Duluth to Thunder Bay and around Lake Superior. My ex and I drove that from east to west way back in 1982 when our kids were young, and I would really like to do it again--maybe late summer 2000??

The other place I have not been is Isle Royale, but will probably never make that place.

Lyn, when you drive through Duluth, make sure you stop at the little park by the lift bridge.

another lazy day as I told a friend I am so on the go that when I have a chance I to not do anything I do just that she called it down time!!! yes that is what it is... down time... Daughter texted me an hour ago and told me they would be here soon hmm her definition of soon is different than mine...
Been to Isle Royale a lot of years ago.... we had one daughter at the time... yep a long time ago had a high school classmate whose husband was stationed there as a ranger I believe one of her perks was visitors got to come on the ship free... think it was a 6 hour perhaps longer boat ride we even had a cabin as we had our young daughter. a beautiful park...
dd asked me to stay over tomorrow so she could spend some time with me but I am thinking she will be working so another lazy day... will go home on Thursday morning son wants to take me and show me where there new house is going to be built think the foundation is being worked on..
it was sooooo cold today not sure what the high was but it was cold this kid just came from hot hot and seem to adjust to the cold that is abnormal for this time of the year even though it's typical spring rained today might even have snow flurries here in the valley ugh and I came North why???
Thanks for reminding me of rabbits totally forgot

Oh Sheila, the sailor in me just had to say it: if it had cabins it's a ship, not a boat. Think ships big, boats small.
