Another chilly Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another chilly Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Apr 29, 2019 7:27 am

Good Morning gals. Cloudy, bit chilly here today. Scattered rain/snow mix about the area this morning. . Haven’t seen any here. Is snowing at tip of the Mitt and eastern U.P. at the moment. Going to be a good day to stay in. Need to clean house anyway, finish up some outdoor craft projects in my basement workroom etc. Worked outside all afternoon yesterday, cleaning and reorganizing my shed. Got a bunch of things I’m going to put out by drive later in a free pile. Usually do that when somebody’s having a garage sale in the neighborhood. It will disappear. So basement, garage and shed are all done and organized. Play time :D

Queen, great to hear from you and Mary. Sounds like you had a great time with friends in IL. Have to enjoy those little things. Big trips are great, but sometimes you find great things in your own backyard. I’m saving up green to hopefully take a trip someplace next year, but am also doing camping trips, festivals, events right here in MI too. Who knows, may not get another big trip off the ground, so I’m playing in my backyard and having a ball  Barbie, I’m excited for you. Keeping fingers crossed still. Beth, good luck with the soft opening. Hope the weather straightens out eventually.

I posted a link in General Talk about a new system that enables you to run your furnace on either electric or propane. Looks interesting. It was mentioned in a newsletter from a FB group called RV Electricity that I joined. Very informative group on all matters of RV electrical. Run by one of the top RV electrical gurus in the country. Got a problem with something, battery, generator, whatever, throw it out there, they will answer. I learned way more about batteries then I ever thought possible while deciding which type to put on my trailer. There’s more to it than just going out and buying one. Just cause you are replacing the one that came with your rig, doesn’t mean it’s the best one.

This isn’t getting the house cleaned, so guess I should get with it. Have a nice day all.

I don't think it's suppose to rain but it's overcast and windy. It seems like we have been having a lot of wind.

Sue, I read about adding electricity to the RV furnace in one of the magazines. I really like having the heat strip in my air conditioner. That probably wouldn't be enough in the North but it's all I have ever needed. Someone mentioned lowering the temperature on the water heater. I didn't know you could do that. I need to read my manual to see if it says how to do that. My shower is so hard to regulate.

A lady that is coming through contacted me because we have some friends in common on Facebook. She is staying at Betty's RV Park for a month. I will go to happy hour today or tomorrow to meet her. I have to think of something to bring to happy hour. I usually pick up something at the deli but don't know if it's open or not. I haven't been back to the grocery store since I saw it all torn up.

It is a royal pain to have cats on different diets. Most are loving the canned food but Sweetie Pie won't eat canned food. She is mostly under my desk all the time so I have a jar of dry food I can give her and pick it up when she is finished. Pinky likes the canned food but then she goes and sits by the empty dry food bowl. She usually follows me to the bathroom so I have a jar of food in there I can give her in the bathroom.

Chilly and wet here... again, I don’t trust it will ever get warm.

Today is a pile of laundry and a couple of errands, not very exciting but it gets us out of the house.

Hope everyone else has something more exciting on the agenda.

Nope, nothing more exciting here.

Rainy day today. Yesterday was cool and cloudy but was perfect for finishing up the shed organizing, and then went to play miniature golf with a meet-up group. That was fun, altho the course was pretty run down. Was challenging tho. I got a hole in one on the first hole, but it all went downhill after that!
We stayed to eat at Johnny Rockets there afterward. Love their burgers! Came home and took a nap. I was done working after that.

Today will be working on the master closet. Need to take it easy with lifting things tho, since I am having issues with my left shoulder again. Can't be lifting those heavy boxes anymore!

Have been thinking about how I want to decorate the new place. Color schemes, etc. I think I will do the living room in greens and browns to keep it warm and cozy feeling. The sun room tho, will be my southwest theme with terra cotta and teal blue colors, with my lizards and Native American decorations in there. In the bedroom, I will use my previous bedding which is green leaf print with orange hibiscus flowers on it. Very pretty! Will keep my yellow and green colors in the bathroom and my red and beige colors for the kitchen. I love vibrant colors! :D The house right now is a very neutral tan and white all over, so the colors will really liven it up in there!

My real estate agent told me about a fairy garden group on FB. I want to do some small fairy garden containers. They are so cute! I am looking forward to having more time to work on craft projects like that. Have put all my crafting on hold for way too long.

Have a good day! :D

Good afternoon. I decided since I was a sloth yesterday (gave myself the day off) that I needed to get a few things done today. I dug a hole and planted another bush....slowly but surely I got them all planted now. Will put some mulch around them tomorrow.

Cut up some more branches into smaller bundles that will fit in a large garden garbage bag. Took 2 bags of leaves and debris over to the dumpster plus household trash also. Then took a few things over to my storage unit, brought a couple of things home LOL Stopped at the Co-op and bought 4 tomato plants, zucchini plant and 2 pepper plants, will keep them in the shed until this weekend when frost warnings are over. The pear orchards around me were running their wind fans this morning and there was frost on all the rooftops so definitely will wait a few days. Then went and got my hair cut and there just happens to be a Panda Express right there so picked up some lunch also.

I think I am done for today. Now sipping a caramel Mocha and turned on the tv. Dog is curled up beside me so guess she is done for now too.

I haven't gotten started on the closet yet but I posted my for sale stuff on CL this morning and got a call from someone who was interested in the large wood entertainment center (it was left here by the previous owner so I kept it.) It is large, solid wood, very heavy, but a beautiful piece of furniture. The couple came right over to see it and fell in love with it. Took awhile for them to get it out of the house and to their car but they managed. The woman also fell in love with my house. While they were here, a guy stopped by who was also interested in the house. Too late, it goes into escrow today. The woman left her name and number in case this deal falls thru (God forbid!)

After that, I went down to the clubhouse to pay my rent, ate lunch and checked my e-mail. Got an e-mail from my daughter's dad. That stopped me in my tracks and I have no motivation to do anything for the rest of the day. I can't even think straight. I posted about that in the General room.

Today was the first day this season I had to leave Ty home. For the past couple weeks Ty has come home exhausted from all the vendors, etc he played with daily. We weren't needing long walks and most evenings I had to wake him to eat. Seriously! So today, I came home exhausted to Ty... Full of energy... Needing a good walk... Requiring we play fetch for a long time... Looking for dinner. Things are back to normal LOL
And it's cold, very cold. Thursday should head back to more normal temps. Please let them hang around. Meantime snow tomorrow and maybe even Wednesday.
