Mid Week Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Mid Week Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed Apr 17, 2019 7:05 am

Morning on this bit foggy Wednesday. Warmer air pushing in over colder ground, making for a little fog. Rain coming later tonight, which if we get what they say, will wipe out what snow is around, mostly in the woods. There are piles and banks that will take awhile to disappear as they are mostly solid ice, but my yard is clear and next week I will start cleaning up behind winter, get my trailer uncovered and then start making arrangements for stuff I want to get done on it :D

But this morning is errands, banking etc. looking at new fridges too as want to replace the big bottom freezer that came with the house. Too big for me and I like top mounted freezers. Can get way more in them than I can in this one. Spotted one at Home Depot that I think I like. Going to have another look and also take measurements with me.

Martha, hang in there, the week is half gone. Karen, I know that want to buy every flower in the place in spring urge. Our last freeze/frost day is around end of May here, so no putting out flowers before then unless we have a warmer than norm month. It’s well into late May, early June before trees, wildflowers etc. start really popping out. But when they do, it’s beautiful. It’s always amazing how many shades of green nature hast. Barbie, I think I would get a stipulation on that Indio house, that the owner have that place sprayed for bugs etc. before you buy it. BJ, hope you hear from Michael. I carry my phone in a case that clips on my waistband. Have done it for a long time, works great, always know where the phone is. Old habit from when I worked at the park and we used them for interpark communication sometimes between the staff. Hope Lyn gets ahead of the storm front in AL and elsewhere as she heads north.

Geez, this is turning into a book  Guess it’s time to shut up and head for the shower, then off to town. Have a good day out there.

Good Morning, All is well. Michael finally sent a message so no lost phone!! Emma did well considering the commotion of over 300 dogs plus the people who were setting up around the rings for the confirmation show today. One large group had just flown in from Japan with several dogs!! She passed all three classes she was entered in and one was the last she needed to get her CDX. Judges were quite complimentary and she did receive a second in a class called Novice B.
Here she is (the white one) in the ring not sure how many in this class but one had 15 entries.

At least yo know what to expect!:). In obedience they have to heel, sit, stay for 3-5 minutes, stand and let the judge touch them and as they advance it gets more difficult. In the classes she in now, she is retrieving dumbbells over broad and high jumps all off lead. There is a lot more but those are some examples. She can be a brat here at home and ignore me, especially when she is outside and does not want to come when she is called.

It is partly sunny and supposed to get up to 70 today here in Ohio at my son's house. Planning to wear shorts tomorrow as it gets to 78!

Kids are in school, so I am trying to get some papers graded before chaos hits. I went to the doctor for my annual checkup yesterday. Got blood work and an x-ray of my left shoulder, which has been bothering me for quite a while but is at the point where I have trouble unfastening my bra at night. Also cannot sleep on that side.

My son drove me and picked me up afterwards. I used to be able to borrow one of his cars, but they traded both of them in and they now have two brand-new vehicles: a humongous Expedition which barely fits in the garage and a Tesla, which takes several lessons in driving and is too expensive for me to feel comfortable driving. It has a big computer screen which controls everything--speed, gear, and a ton more. I drove it about two miles, and compared to driving my 32' motorhome and driving on the wrong side in the UK, it was much scarier and I did not even try the self-drive option!

Horrible to hear about Notre Dame cathedral burning, but it looks like they saved most of the important stuff.

Congrats to Emma. I have heard that Standard Poodles are very intelligent.

Karen, love the Tibetan Spaniel Tricks! Is that on a t-shirt?

Sue, I also have a super-sized fridge with the freezer at the bottom. Way too big for me but it works well for two of us. She gets the left side and I get the right side. The freezer door takes two hands to pull it open.

Judy, shoulder problems are literally a pain. I still have issues with both of mine. Could you get a front hook bra to make it easier to get on and off?

Need to finish what I didn't get to yesterday. Bills and laundry. Then work later this afternoon.

Hope you all have a good day and stay out of any bad weather, especially in the south!

BJ, Emma is beautiful. I like the Tibetan Spaniel tricks. That's what Hank does and he thinks I'm not his boss. I never did learn the commands for a working dog.

My ex-daughter-in-law hasn't shown up yet. She wants to ship some things and thinks she can show up at the post office or UPS shipping place and they will box it for her. I have never seen them do that.

Still waiting for the man to show up to look at the camper. Hope he has a GPS. Our road sign has been stolen again. Our road is Bayou Road and for some reason people want that sign.

Martha, I think some UPS sort of stores will box things up for you. They get to charge for the boxes and the stuffing and......put the labels on for you. They also cost more than the Post Office because of the services they provide.

I keep thinking that I would like to get a new refrigerator. This current one is a bizzilion years old. It has an ice maker that is no longer functioning and the man in the recliner is not interested in getting it fixed. I would like to have some handy ice and cold water, but when I look at the size of most of the refrigerators (and their prices) I am taken aback. When we were growing up, we never needed all that space and I definitely don't need it now. I live for months at a time with the RV frig. I large one would just provide more space to put things until I forget they are back there, have turned green and are ready to be thrown out. And if the freezer is smaller, again, I think there would be less waste at this house anyway. So, I will keep looking at some of the smaller ones and maybe one of these days I will recover enough from the vehicle repair bills to consider parting with my money. I find it hard to spend when the current one is basically working. And franking I would rather spend that cash on traveling options.

Anyway, I don't need one that connects to my smart phone and tells me what I need to pick up at the store.

Karen, I laughed out loud at the tricks. Ty couldn't stay in one place long enough. So excitable. That said, he has been coming to work with me this week and comes home even more exhausted than me. He can't really nap because he's afraid to miss something. And, for some reason, people up here understand how he likes to play. Vendors are wearing him out. I'll feel bad when we are open and he can't come with anymore. But I also think he'd be better off if I brought him hinge midway through the day. The thing is, I wouldn't want to go back either lol. It's just Ty and I until I get help next Wednesday... So he is keeping me company. But I'm getting so many vendors in... Caked most Monday and 3 were in that day! I actually had a delivery today and will have another tomorrow and two that I can think of Friday. So things are moving along. Now I want a nap lol

Barbie, I hope you can get a sale this week, approved, etc. So much interest and yet you're still waiting and on pins and needles. Crossing fingers for you.

Good job, Emma.

Hi Karen. I really liked your Tibetan Spaniel "tricks".

The photos pretty much describe the exact kinds of things I could get my ex-husband to do. And also the exact way that he would do them. Every time. 8-)

My ex-daughter-in-law found out we only have UPS pickup places not the stores that will box things. I forgot to ask what the post office told her. She is from Turkey but has been in the US for at least 15 years. She still doesn't understand how a lot of thing work. I don't know how she drives in New Jersey. After seeing how she gets out of my driveway on a country road I would not ride with her. Someone is going to run over her.

I replaced my refrigerator a couple of years ago and probably got one that's too big but it stays full. I figured this one should last as long as I will so I got what I wanted. The refrigerator has the double doors, one big drawer and 2 smaller ones. The freezer is on the bottom. It holds a lot. The stove and dishwasher are white so I went with a white refrigerator. You can buy stainless steel ones everywhere but the white one had to be special ordered.

The guy actually showed up to look at the motorhome. He is checking on his financing. I sure hope he buys it because I'm tired of having to keep all these batteries charged.

a few years ago my sister got a new refrigerator it's huge!!! every time I go to get something out of it I wonder why??? she is shorter than me and I can't reach the top shelf and the back of it... and to clean it one needs a degree in engineering  its good thing is it has seltzer water  it does have the drawer and that is good I like the bottom freezer due to height issues... :? but even with the seltzer water function I'd never get that one.
I am finally off the desert came a long ways today into town and a rv park. in looking at the weather high winds here today higher in Needles for a couple of days I didn't want to get caught in Needles would rather stay here a few days and it be a bit cheaper... 20 here 30 plus there. sides that I can go play games
had friends come out to help me hitch up and put the slides out with no generator and my truck not charging the batteries was worried about getting them in...we got the bed room slide in then nothing then we tried a couple other things got one slide in and I called the rv mechanic and then something else was tried and the other slide came in half way well we were out of ideas quite frankly was wishing we had stopped at just the bedroom slide...just before the mechanic came out i went to the restroom and realized that I had no pump then no electricity. He was out there for a very long time. what happened was there was a connection that I couldn't see one to the slides the other to something else all sorta related.. one had gotten corroded and when he removed that the connection wasn't tight and the other wasn't tight. so he had to find away of getting that part not at Love's nor Pilot but somehow at Love's repair building he found someone that was able to fix one. he ran his generator for awhile to charge up my batteries so I could have some light ... then came back this morning charged up the batteries all the way we hooked up the truck pulled the slide in the rest of the way. And into town I went... he may take awhile to get to you but does his best and works on all aspects of the RV's I was waiting for the invoice and he told me we would worry about it in the fall .... so still in shock yes I plan on being down here but life happens and I may not be and then what??? other than I find away of sending his well earned money... we were talking about some of things he see's that need to be done and yes he could be looking for work but don't think so he is so busy ....
Shadow is so not used to the noise of town (nor am I) that he is exercising his voice ...a lot
Hopefully Barbie that person will walk into your house and know that it is for them.... Emma looks so regal
at 8 am knocking at the door the ranger was there wondering if I had a permit...explained that I broke down would hopefully be out soon... he tells me I can get a daily permit... if I hadn't wanted to be plugged in I would have stayed but need to vacuum in the worst way... so tomorrow after I wake up will do that and just veg out still have to check in should do that as well might even hook up water. will dump before I leave Monday morning ...last time I looked it will be ok wind wise to leave then hope so as I have a wedding to attend to and a house to sit

I got the official termite inspection report today. No termites but says there are "a lot of fire ants". I messaged my agent about that asking about the owner taking care of that. She emailed back and said that the park takes care of fire ant issues and will be taking care of it tomorrow. So that is good. I have more than enough battle scars on my legs from fleas, I don't need more from fire ants. Have been attacked by them once before and don't care to experience that again. :o The bites took forever to heal, especially one that didn't heal up completely for several years!

Emily had the zoomies all night last night (or so it seemed  ). I hope she settles down more tonight. Sounds like a heard of elephants running thru the house on the hardwood floors! Then she tries to turn corners and slams into a wall here and there. Crazy cat!

Time for bed...
