Damp Tuesdsy

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Damp Tuesdsy

Postby Colliemom » Tue Apr 16, 2019 7:06 am

Good Morning! Coffee’s on. Like Tina says, the virtual chef is always ready to prepare what your heart desires. Cloudy here this morning after a beautiful 50 degree day yesterday. Snow from Sunday has all melted and showers are expected today and rest of week. Judy, I have every reason to be optimistic. Long range forecast is looking very good as far as spring weather is concerned now. Not that we can’t get some of the white stuff again, heck we have had snow showers on Mothers Day, but it doesn’t hang around.

So the only excitement here for remainder of this week is finishing up in garage, giving the house a good cleaning, running some errands, getting stuff for trailer in basement ready to put back in once I get it uncovered etc. Real exciting stuff.

Barbie, hang in there. There will be more showings. Had similar issue here too. Had a bunch right after it hit the market, got a contingency offer, then showings stopped for about two weeks, till the people who made full price offer appeared. Your place was new one market, buyers came looking, new listing appear, they go looking at them, then they do some thinking so you never know. Velda, sorry to hear of recent issues. Hope they all get resolved without a lot of $$$ going out. Been there done that.

Guess I should get a move on here if I want to accomplish anything today. Have a nice day all.

Accomplished nothing yesterday. Just a nap. Did put some of my stuff for sale on-line and sold my bed already. I have a twin airbed I can use until I move.

My roommate found a room to rent in the park here for June 1st. I guess she (or her son) decided that moving back with him wouldn't work out.

Need to go to WM for some food today and then the bank. Then do some laundry, pay bills, and nail clipping (both me and the cats). Probably stop at Costco for gas since the cost of gas out here has skyrocketed in the past couple weeks.

Looks cloudy and windy from my bedroom window this morning. Good day for errands and maybe a nap later.

Glad the weather seems to be warming up and calming down thru the midwest now. Hope Lyn can start heading north now safely.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It is afternoon her and I had a busy morning but accomplished a lot in less than an hour. I went to the grocery, mailed letters, went to the bank, stopped at the jewelry store for a new watch battery and chat,:), then to the DMV for new sticker for my van! Done for the day and I see a nap in my afternoon. Haven't heard any reports of how Emma did on the other classes she was entered in at the Poodle Nationals in St Louis. She did well in the first on but that was pretty early this morning. Michael is there watching so not sure why I'm not hearing any news or getting pictures. Hope he hasn't lost his phone!!

Barbie, sorry about you house but maybe good the roommate is moving.

Afternoon ladies~way past morning here, but popping in.

Ma is out of the hospital for a second time. At least this was just an overnight stay. Not sure if I mentioned that I got the TT back. All is good. Actually have reservations and will head out on Monday to see the Iowa waterfalls. Right now, planning on heading to Colorado to check those NP off my list even tho I've been to half of them before. Sometimes repeats are a good thing. May see an old friend from work too, but who knows. She's not letting retirement slow her down at all.

BJ, hope Michael didn't lose his phone. What a pain that would be. Hopefully he's just caught up in the excitement of the show.

That's it from me. Oh, and the 5" of snow from the other day is gone. Yippee!

Hi everyone!

Sue, it's not damp here but it was very chilly when we got up. Had to turn the heat on to take showers.

Barbie, I'm glad your roommate has found somewhere else to live. With having your home for sale, you need to be able to show her bedroom and bathroom without being questioned. Your home is lovely and should sell quickly.

BJ, I hope you've heard from Michael by now. The friend that takes care of our home in MD had her phone stolen a couple days ago after it was lifted out of her back pocket on her jeans. Why, oh why, do people put their phones there?

Cheryl, your trip sounds so exciting! I hope you're able to hook up with your friend!

It was 50 degrees this morning and we're in the low 80's with lots of sunshine. Steve went to the golf range to hit balls while I went to the Rosary Mass. This evening, we're meeting friends from church at a Sonny's restaurant for dinner. Tomorrow, the rig goes into shop for its annual checkup and this coming Monday we're out of here. Will meet friends from upstate NY a couple weeks after that to begin the cross country trip and hope the weather is good. Have a good rest of the day.

Good afternoon. Had a busy morning. Went to the Growers Market in Ashland with a neighbor. We cruised all the booths then went to Ashland Greenhouses. Damn it is huge. They only grow flowers no shrubs. And they have table after table inside and outside they have the plants that the frost wont bother. I fondled the tomato plants but need to wait a couple more weeks. I did buy some perennials and some flowers to put in my patio pots. The sun makes me really want to get out in the yard BUT it is just a honeymoon period of things to come. It is supposed to be 80° here on Thursday....good grief make up your mind weather.

Bought a couple of Empanadas at the Growers Market so that was for lunch. They were super good. Well I only ate one, the spinach and cheese one. Saved the chili rellano one for tomorrow. Moved a few of my pavers over to where I will be putting them since the new fence is in, but dang they are heavy. Done for today, now time for my caramel Mocha and put my feet up and rest my back.

BJ I am rooting for Emma. Hope there is NOT a lost phone. Hopefully you will get close to me on your trip Irmi. Would love to meet you two. Well time to turn on the tv and see what I can entertain myself with ha ha.

It's going to be a long week. My grandson is staying with me and his mother and her 2 year old are staying at a motel. Thank god she is afraid of my cats. She has been digging through everything that is in my son's room. She says that the son wants everything but I think it's her. She starts crying every time she talks about Scott and they were divorced for over 10 years. She wants to help me and all she does is get in my way. I washed the camper, the car, the truck and mowed the lawn. I don't need help I need for her to get out of my way. She was here at 8:00 this morning. She gives the 2 year old a chocolate cup cake and turns her loose. There is still cake in the kitchen floor. Then she cooks 2 scrambled eggs for the baby and I bet she didn't eat one bite. Then she throw it all away. I have never seen anyone waste so much food. When she was with my son I watched her cook a whole bag of rice and throw it away. She would cook a batch and it wouldn't turn out so she would throw it away. She wouldn't listen to anyone telling her what to do. The cats have finally come out of hiding. I don't know if CC can smell them or what but he will stick his head in the door and if they are still here he won't come in.

I was messing around with the old camper this afternoon and the coach batteries are dead. If they won't charge overnight I'm going to have to get new batteries for it. It's always something.

There was a nursery festival going on at the campout I went to about a month ago. I came home with a beautiful plant with flowers all over it. This past weekend the storms and wind blew all the flowers off. My catnip plant is not doing very well. One of the cats was sitting on it today. I haven't seen them try to eat any but they like to smell it.

I don't put my phone in my back pocket but I can see why some do. Some of the pants I have bought recently have half pockets or no pockets. How much money can they really save making half pockets? Phones are getting bigger and pockets are getting smaller.

Barbie, hope you get some more offers.

Martha, I remember you mentioning your ex daughter in law awhile back. At least she's staying in a hotel, but even so, she's got to be driving you crazy while she's there.

Steve was pick pocketed many years back when he kept his wallet in his back pocket. That's when we learned no money was ever kept in his wallet. A credit card and cash were kept elsewhere in his truck to make sure he could make it through the week if someone took his wallet. Oh, the things we have to learn to make it through society nowadays.

Another pet peeve of mine is slacks with pockets sewn shut. You can take scissors to cut the stitching so the pockets are usable. I also have dress slacks that look like they have front pockets but that's all they are is for appearance. That's so annoying as I like to carry tissues with me. Sheesh...

Managed to get to the bank and Walmart but that is about it. Went shopping hungry so got a lot of goodies but also got some sweet corn and stuff for BLT's so got a little healthier stuff too.

Not sure where the rest of the day went. I guess on Facebook  . Still need to pay bills, do laundry and trim nails.

The termite inspection was done today. I talked to the agent out there and she said it went well, just some crickets and black widow spiders :o , but no termites or fire ants. Not sure I like sharing space with black widow spiders. May have to get rid of those once I get out there. I think the sellers agent is getting anxious about my house not being in escrow yet. I am too. The contingency for closing on this house is 90 days from the start of escrow on the Indio house which is June 23rd. So I have time but still makes me nervous. There is a guy who is interested in my house but has two large service dogs. He has asked our park manager for permission to have them here, altho, like I told my agent, legally, they have to allow him here with them. I suppose they could find "another" reason to not approve him tho. Will see how that goes.

Just read about a deranged man in MN who threw a young boy over a railing on the third floor of the Mall of America with the intention of killing him. The boy is in critical condition. So sad!

As far as pockets go, I hate the sideways pockets because anything you put in them, falls out especially when I sit down. I won't buy pants that don't have pockets.

I guess Pansies are good flowers for this time of year because they can withstand colder temps more than other types of flowers. They are pretty too.
