Just An Ordinary Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Just An Ordinary Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat Apr 13, 2019 8:01 am

Morning y’all. Another Saturday, another week just about gone. Nothing earthshaking happening around here, just waiting for spring to stay put. Last storm dumped about 3.5” snow, followed by little freezing rain, then rain, so it just became slush. Warmed up near 50 yesterday and we did have some sun, so all melted away pretty much. But chilly and cloudy again today. Another storm coming across state tomorrow, bringing snow again, but it might miss this area.

Meantime I am trying to finish up my garage remodel project, just need to don the warm duds. Have some misc. stuff that I need to sort through, but am going to bring it in the house and do that. But I so want to get into my trailer and do some stuff. Not to mention getting new WD system, update spare tire to match my other tires, etc. Dewinterizing won’t happen till May anyway. Thinking of redoing the window cornices. But they are plastic 3 inch rod pocket rods and sure can’t staple into those. Current valances are up with Velcro. I’m not a sewer so making new valances isn’t going to happen, although I am tossing around a couple ideas.

Barbie, hope the lady in OR gets a good report from her daughter on your house. Lyn, glad you and Mitch finally got connected. Enjoy your visit. Don’t push north too fast as it’s still chily up here, the farther north areas are still in snow and ice. Beth, sounds like you are slowly work g your way into the store.

Time to get cleaned up and get my day moving. Hope you all have a nice day out there, travel safe if on the roads and stay safe where there are storms and bad weather.

Mornin' Sue & all that follow~~~

Today is National Record Store Day according to ABC in Chicago. Guess there really is a day for everything.

Ma was in the hospital again. This time for edema & the fluids weeping from her legs. It was a short stay. She just is not happy about anything and doesn't understand what is happening.

Im hoping to hit the road Easter Monday, pending any other unknowns. Planning on doing the Iowa waterfall tour for a couple days. Haven't heard much about flooding lately, but the bomb cyclone that just dumped snow again in MN, etc will bring warnings back again I'm sure.

Glad Lyn ia safe & sound and yes Lyn, I know you're on a schedule for your bird watching destination, but be vigilant on the weather front. Chicago is expecting snow again on Sunday, and long range for next Friday also, so WI & MN may get some more too.

That's it from me. Have a happy day ladies.

I feel like I only talk weather lately. I'm happy to report the temperature is above freezing... And the feels like temp is also. Yay! I'm going to start playing with the May schedule... See if I can get a feel for it with what student people want, etc. The first one is the hardest every year.

Just amended the title. Didn’t notice half of it disappeared for some reason or other.

still doing stuff to get ready to leave...got the 2nd mat up it was in every bit as good as the 1st one was.... drained 14 gals of water out of my water barrel how do I know? filled gallon jugs just in case also to have water to water plants with....just hate to totally waste it there fore till I dump it out into a bush on Monday night I will know it is there... then took the barrel over to it's summer home  a friend lets me store it behind her storage building. Then the propane tank to a friends house thought it still had propane in it not so... but she can use the tank for the summer.. went to get a shower felt dusty from sitting on the mats pulling the nails out and then folding them up and getting them into the bay... the sign directed people to the eatery for help so went decided that lunch was in order friends popped in so we shared a table and they picked up my tab sweet of them then as the showers were almost closed told me to come over to get a shower which I did.. while we were getting out food my friend had an episode not sure what it was but they decided to go to Phoenix for a check up when I got to their house found a note explaining where they were and to go ahead and get my shower... felt strange but did so...felt good.. home to a nap and dishes most every thing is down to the last minute put it away so Monday will be a busy day will hope that the wind forecast will change as I would like to make it north... but DD's said we could face time if I don't make it. a lot will depend upon what the dr tells my sister as well...
That's my story and as they say I'm sticking to it...

Sheila ~ there are 13 waterfalls in all. There is a map on the bottom of this link.

The page now has a flood warning posted, so I'll have to check out the closing status before I leave. :(

I've been to both in McGregor.. Both several times as I lived near there. This weather, if flooding is over, should have all the falls listed running beautifully.
