A Rainy Sunday in Ohio

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A Rainy Sunday in Ohio

Postby BirdbyBird » Sun Apr 14, 2019 7:10 am

Good Morning. Hope everyone helps themselves to whatever they need this morning from the kitchen here. Imagine it and have the private chef whip it up for you. Sadly I try not to think of too many fluffy pancakes and tasty hunks of bacon. My weight does much better when I stick to boring but predictable portions of cereal.

Rainy but we have had some nice sunny days and it is spring and those May flowers depend on the April showers.

I worked all week and was also able to pick up 5 hours of overtime yesterday. After I picked up the RV from the shop last week I dropped off the Honda Fit and now I have a second repair bill to pay off. I figure that after 94,000 miles I should spring for a few repairs on the Fit if I want to keep it running for another 100 miles. I am just thankful that I still have the work opportunities that help support my life style of running around the countryside in an RV. (And it helps to still have the health to do it also.)

I think I am making a run to the REI store in Cincinnati today. Thanks to an introduction to their socks from my daughter I have found that my feet really like them. And as many of us have found out, if we can keep our feet comfortable our days and the rest of our body seems much happier.

And there will be some dog grooming and fur flying before the day in done. Two got baths last night!

May you all find gifts in your day to bring you smiles.

Good morning Tina & everyone!

Tina, I have a sister that was a personal chef and carried her pots and pans and all the necessary foods in her car to prepare meals for other people. I so agree that if your feet aren't comfortable, they seem to throw your entire body off kilter.

It is cloudy and warm in Ocala and we need to use the a/c daily at some point. Today is my next to the last Sunday, until next fall, that I'll be playing for the service in church. Yesterday, Brenda came over and helped us start plotting the course for our cross country trip. We put our car in shop this week and had 4 new tires put on, and Wednesday, the motorhome goes into shop for its checkup.

Enjoy your day!

Morning! It’s a balmy 19 in South Dakota this morning! We had 11 inches of snow on Thursday that was preceded by freezing rain. Now they’re predicting more snow/rain for this week. I have doubts if we’re ever going to see spring. The country roads are so wet and muddy that the county has restricted heavy equipment travel on them. School buses will pick up students at the nearest black top.

Tina, I would give my eye teeth for the bowl of boring cereal this morning. Today is my prep for the dreaded colonoscopy. I’m looking forward to lots of clear liquids. Spent some time on Facebook this morning and of course there are pictures for recipes that look absolutely mouthwatering…..as I’m eating my lemon freeze pop.

Not much else going on around here. If I’m feeling up to par on Tuesday (I’m one of those people who has trouble rebounding from anesthesia) I’ll be driving around town helping pick up donations for the flood victims in South Dakota and Nebraska. Plan to go up to Mitchell on Thursday with Missy because the local greenhouse will be delivering her first shipment of plants…..as if anyone can put anything in the ground yet. It really isn’t wise to plant anything outside until May 15th. I’ll clean the hanging baskets and geraniums, because they usually have some brown leaves in them. She’s usually been open for two weeks by now but it’s been so cold that she’s been holding off because it’s so expensive to run the furnaces in the greenhouses.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Luckily it's 35 and heading into the 50's in my part of SD this morning. So glad the arctic air has left here. And snow is almost gone. I plan to work a good portion of the day. First up, sweeping /vacuuming all the dead flies. I'll also run a bunch of the washers again (did yesterday also). The water in the hot water tanks stinks after sitting all winter. And I'll definitely respond to any responses to my ads on some workamping groups. I've filled one of the two positions and have two people arriving middle of next week... It'll all work out.

First, though, a nice hot shower is calling me.

Good morning all. We had a beautiful day yesterday and the rain has just started. Supposed to be an all day and night event so no outside work today. Hoping to get Lola dewinterized before I leave Wednesday morning for overnight trip! If I don’t I guess I’ll survive one night without running water! At least we’re not having the snow that some of you are! So not complaining! It’s finally starting to look a bit more like spring, flowers are starting to bloom in front of my house and trees are starting to bud out! My backyard looks like I’ll be having to mow it very soon. I spent a big part of yesterday still cleaning up leaves from last fall! Figure I have the bulk of it done and now I need to attack the flower beds!
I had to make a fast trip down to Greensburg late Thursday afternoon. My sister in law was in the hospital and things weren’t looking good for her. But they’ve managed to turn her around and she’s doing a bit better each day. It’s about 2 hours away so it was a long night since I needed to come home because of the dog. I’ll try to go down again at least once this week.
Beth, sounds like you’re starting to get in the swing of things! Just hope the weather warms up for you. And for Sue too! Irma, you guys are going to have quite an adventure this summer. That’s what my friends want to do next year after they get used to their new unit this summer. Well, it’s already officially afternoon so guess I should get something done here in the house. I’d rather be outside watching the grass grow! Have a great day!

Good morning ladies
I am so thankful for nice temps and I'm able to get some outside stuff done. As I announced on FB my summer trip is taking me north and east as my dad is relocating to my sisters area in Appleton Wisconsin. So my loop will take me through a lot of new territory and new faces to meet. I will look at the forum map and plan my loop around that.
Got started on building my deck yesterday and will continue on that today. Ya'll have a great day.

Good late morning gals!

Ava, you will love Wisconsin. Very pretty there, similar to MN with lots of rolling hills, woods, and lakes. You must be feeling better now.

Sun is out and slight breeze here. 70 again today.

Yesterday we had an Open House here but my agent didn't get it started until almost 2pm so there was only one two people who showed up and one was just a curious neighbor. I filled out the disclosure papers for the OR buyer so hopefully she will finally get papers signed and get this house in escrow soon! I am getting nervous.

The home inspection in Indio fell thru and haven't been able to find another one who can get there this week so I won't be going down there. I am keeping the appointment for the termite inspection since I really don't need to be there for that one.

I got my taxes done. Couldn't find anyone who could do it before the Monday deadline and I didn't want to do an extension so I went back to H&R Block to the lady who did it for me last year. Luckily, since it was a lot less complicated this year it didn't cost so much to get it done. I will be getting $1000 back so that will help! I could have done it myself but because of the credit from my dad's house (for taking a loss on the house), that throws a wrench in it for me.

I have been watching the Masters golf tournament the past couple days. I love that one as the course in Augusta, GA is so breathtakingly gorgeous with the azaleas and dogwoods in bloom all around the course. I usually request Sunday off to watch the last day of it but forgot this year so will miss the end of it this afternoon. :( Lots of great players in the lead including Tiger Woods. He is now in the lead by 2 strokes! Will watch for a couple hours before heading for work.

Back to work this afternoon. Sundays are always busy. Lots of military coming in for their weekly fades.

Have a good day! :D

The Oregon buyer backed out today. She loved the house but was too nervous about mosquitoes coming from the creek. I could have told her that because the creek is constantly moving, there are no mosquitoes. I have never seen one here.

So back to square one... :(
