“Little Free Libraries”

I’ve heard about free libraries recently and have seen pictures of cute birdhouse-type libraries located just about anywhere, often in people’s front yards. I found one just 1 1/2 miles from my house. You can take free books and donate books you no longer want at these little libraries.

I imagine the selection at each location depends on the amount of use it gets, but I think it’s a great idea. So I thought it would be worth mentioning here since we have so many members who enjoy reading and this might be a way of finding free books and donating books on the road or near home.

I always think of the campground libraries as a "Little Library" on steroids and with a wider selection! I have several friends in the Cincinnati area that have built them for in front of their homes. Readers do seem to attract readers.

There were a couple of the free libraries at a campground I was at last summer outside of Manitowoc, WI. Its a great idea.

Yes, I have been aware of these for some time. There is one near my daughters home and I leave books there every once and awhile. It is a great idea! Lyn

I have seen some around too. There was a really cute one in my dad's neighborhood with a little faerie garden around it.

These have been around my neighborhood since I've lived here. The fire captain who lived 3 houses down
used to make them. They are so cute and make a nice addition to an area!

one not far from my dd's across from the school but when I looked it was mostly children's books
but a great idea to be sure
