Winter Storm Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Winter Storm Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Apr 11, 2019 8:18 am

Good Morning! Snowing here in the north country. But not going to last more than part of the day. 1-3 inches possible, than a lull for awhile, some freezing rain later this evening with rising temps and rain. So that will wipe out the snow. Just the eastern edge of the big storm hitting the Midwest, MN and WI. Can deal with this. I always say winter has to have one last hurrah.

Barbie, sounds like your house selling is on track, now that the questionable credit offers have been weeded out. Velda, , glad Mandy is feeling better and eating again. Always a worry when our furry kids are under the weather. Judy, safe travels as you venture back to Eugene. Beth, hopefully your warmer weather will return quick, and also that you have an easier time with the computers, delivery people etc., this year.

Going to spend a little time putting a big socket set back in place this morning. Accidentally forgot to lock lid on one side of case when I closed it, so those sockets fell into the other side and got all messed up. Bit too cold and nasty to work in garage right now anyway.

So guess I will get cleaned up, do some breakfast dishes and then get that project done. Good day for it. Y’all have a nice day.

Sue, thanks for the good wishes. I'll take them! I'm still curled up in bed. Ty hasn't ventured out from under the covers yet. I'd like the wind chill to get to zero or above before we have to venture outside. I'm dreaming. But it's gone up one degree since 7a.m.

I know many of you have it worse than me. My furnace is working... I'm very grateful. And looking forward to Sunday lol

The good thing about snow and cold this time of year is it doesn't stick around very long.

Nothing much happening today other than finding a place to get my taxes done. And waiting to hear back about our counter offer and hopefully get the paperwork signed. It will still be contingent on the buyer coming down to see the house in person, maybe this weekend.

Looks like a nice sunny day here. Still gets colder at night but days are warm. I guess there is almost a foot of snow in MN where I used to live just west of Minneapolis plus high winds. Most of the schools are closed. Glad I am not back there!

Have a good day, whatever the weather is like!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hi everyone!

Sue, I hope your winter storm is short lived. Beth, I'm glad you are safe and sound, albeit colder than you'd want. Hope it warms up soon. Barbie, I hope you find an accountant to get your taxes done. Not a fun time of the year for anyone. And glad you are in CA and not MN.

It's warm here. Brenda would say it's hot. LOL! She took me for my dentist appt. in Lakeland this morning and from there, we went to a Costco near Tampa, stopped off for lunch and came home. Tomorrow Steve has another doctor appt. for bloodwork. Seems like medical appts. have been a large part of our lives the last couple years, but if it keeps us alive, I guess we'll do it. After that, off to church to practice, pick up more groceries, do some banking and get back here. I'm looking for a special cut of meat to make Roladen, a German meal, and that's hard to find, but I have a hankering for it. Going outside to meet Steve in the yard to take advantage of the warm FL sunshine.

Made it to Eugene and tired of driving almost every day. But of course, I left the 70s of Valley of Fire and arrived in Oregon's non-stop rain and highs in low 50s! I have to go out tomorrow to get a small nail removed from my tire and the tire fixed, plus find out why my generator is working. but I am not getting power. Had it rebuilt for an enormous amount of money last October. It has been working fine, but the last two weeks, I get no power to my RV. I am thinking that maybe a cord is loose? Or maybe the receptacle I plug into is bad?? I get good power when I plug into a campground outlet, so it is not my plug.

This weekend, I will fly off to see my Ohio kids for a week. Actually, today it was warmer in Ohio than here in Oregon!! Where is spring?? I hope it is here when I get back from Ohio because after some more doctor appointments, I am heading to the ocean--Tillicum Beach--for a few days.

Judy have you checked the breakers on your generator??? The generator will run but no power to your rig. This happened to me in Quartzsite. The breakers are easily accesible. I turned them off and then back on and started the genny and voila POWER. I had to take the cover off of my generator and there they were LOL

Ah!!! I called Cummins today, and they asked if I had checked the breakers. I thought they were referring to the ones inside my motorhome. Did not know there were breakers directly on the generator! I will look tomorrow morning before I head over there.

Thanks for the suggestion.
