Tuesday April 9th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday April 9th

Postby Redetotry » Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:56 am

Good ? Morning It is almost 9:00 AM an I am ready to invoke the 'it’s five o’clock somewhere rule’. A dog noise woke me about 4:30 AM and if you are a dog owner, you know what sounds wake you from a deep sleep. Did a quick check and both dogs seemed to be in place so thinking all was well, I got up to go to the bathroom. As I walked onto the tile floor I thought humm I really need to get new shoes the soles on these are really slick. Suddenly I was fully awake and turned on the light to see where the opps was. Thankfully it was only throw up but cleaning was in order. So, while I am cleaning the floor and my shoes the culprit goes to the back door and since I am not responding, we have another opps from the other end. Still in cleaning gear I get that taken care of and take him out on a leash so he doesn’t over indulge in all that tasty new green grass. By the time my cleaning and the walk was over I was fully awake. I relaxed in my recliner for awhile before deciding I was really hungry and more than ready for coffee. After my breakfast I had to feed and brush Emma with big puffy legs to get her ready to go to ‘school” (obedience training). Finished brushing her and started on Toby, Mr Puke Face. Got him cleaned up and I have quit for the day….I hope. When DH got up I told him if he had puked anywhere he better clean it up himself!! He wisely decided the best thing he could do was maintain a safe distance for awhile. So back to considering that ‘five o’clock rule...

OH I hate when I start my day off on the wrong foot, so to speak. Hope no more issues today.

So far my day has started out fairly benign. Was pouring rain when I let Emma out but seems to have tapered off for now. Showers still predicted and we have lots of flooding from the coast to up the I-5. Flood warnings here for some of the creeks and of course the Rogue and Umpqua rivers. Hope the rain really does taper off for a few days. I know we need the rain but all at once is not necessary.

I need to go out and do a couple of errands today. Pretty much have the house in order and did my deep cleaning in Jan and Feb so I could work in the yard come Spring..........well there is no working in the yard yet. I did pull some weeds the other day but now too much rain.

Barbie excited you sold your place, take the best offer that works for you and your timeline. Might even go above asking price if someone really wants it. But even getting full price you are doing okay.

Velda is getting all RV issues resolved and will be ready for a road trip soon. Beth, weather doesnt look good for you once you get up to Keystone. Hope you can stay warm enough. Better get Ty a coat LOL Sheilia getting ready to get on the road also. Hope you all on the road have a safe and fun trip.

BJ, well at least you didn't step in it barefoot! I had a small pile to clean up this morning as well.

Need to call the escrow people in Indio again to get someone to walk thru all the papers they emailed me and figure out what all of it means and what to do with it. Need to get my phone charged up first which it is doing now. Could be a long phone conversation.

Otherwise not sure what I will do today. Need to get a few small things done around here. Maybe I will go thru my closet and get rid of clothes I no longer wear.

Meeting with my agent at 3:30 to go over the two offers and decide what to do.

Cloudy this morning but it will be pretty warm later today again.

Have a good day! :D

Afternoon here. Getting ready to get changed and head to an appt. on a bit. Cloudy, dampish and cool day here.

Barbie, weight those offers carefully. If the one sees a roof issue, you might give em a bit of allowance for that, maybe $1000 or do say. If the other sees nothing, then if thry put down a deposit, that will swing in your favor. Your agent can guide you through it. In meantime, I would start packing non essential stuff. You can always store it in a closet as people will over look that. I did that when my house was listed and put my boxes neatly on shelves in my basement. They were all marked as to which box went to which room when I moved and it made unpacking so much easier. Didn’t have to sort brought boxes looking for kitchen stuff or bedroom stuff, boxes were in each room with the stuff in them. I got a contingency offer and then a full price offer from another couple. Don’t need to tell you which way I went. Contingency had first dibs, but couldn’t match the full price offer as deal on their house fell through.

Anyway, just checking in. BJ, bern there done that in middle of night too. Have a nice day all.

When I had a dog, I learned never to walk around without turning lights on. Not only were there the bodily products but I once stepped down from a step onto a small rubber dog toy on my way to putting dog out in middle of the night. Fell and broke my hand. Still managed to crawl to door and let dog out! Emergency room next morning.

At least you can train kids to put toys away.

Almost to Reno. Next overnight is in Susanville CA. Really windy driving day, especially stretch north of Hawthorne next to mountains—blowing sideways so had to really slow to under 50. Better now but still windy. Taking it easy anyway.

Yay, I'm in Keystone. Boo, the snow is coming lol. I actually will enjoy some snow as I know it won't last long. But I doubt I'll enjoy the very cold weather coming with/after it. This morning the predictions didn't look as bad as what is being said now. Who knows, it could miss me altogether.

BJ, that's never a good way to start the day. But we sure love our furkids.

Beth, glad you arrived safely. Re: the weather, it can only get better after this event LOL

Marda, you better head north soon. That is too hot. I am actually liking today. Only an occasional shower and the sun is out but it is chilly with the wind. Staying in, snuggled with the dog in my recliner.

Just had another showing. Not thinking they will make an offer since the lady walked with a cane and was afraid to walk on the crushed rock along the side of the house. i think it is too much yard for someone who can't get around very easily to enjoy or maintain it.

My agent is on her way to go over the other two offers with me. The For Sale sign finally went up today so I buried St Joseph right next to it. :D Maybe a moot point.

Lyn, where are you now? Hope things are going better for you and your trailer. Be mindful of the storms out there!

Beth, now you can hunker down and wait out the snowstorm this week. When does the store open for business? When does Linda arrive?

I feel a nap coming on but need to wait until later for that. Or maybe just get to bed early tonight. I open the shop tomorrow morning so need to get to bed at a decent time anyways.

Drove across Oklahoma on Hwy 40. Red Bud trees in bloom all the way. They are beautiful/spectacular!!!
Planning on arriving at Mitches on the 11th.
I am having a horrible time with Amazon. I changed my email address and now cannot get my ebooks put onto my iPad.
Spent an hour on the phone at a McDonalds. Indians have a terrible accent!, I kept saying, speak English, and he kept saying I am!
Other than the above frustration, I am making good time. 60 mph on cruise control.

So much excitement on here. I have made it through the first two days of work again this week. I like to celebrate small victories. Every day counts.

BJ, besides the unpleasantness of walking in surprises too too early in the morning, there is that, "I don't think it is anything serious, but it might be, so I must watch for additional symptoms," level of alert for the rest of the day.

I don't want your 95 and we only rarely see 90 here in the summers (Rapid City gets those hot days). That said we aren't supposed to get above freezing tomorrow and maybe not Thursday. I can't wear my sandals! Lol

We had ceramic tile in the old house. I stepped in a slick throw up and fell. As many time as I have fallen I am darn lucky I haven't broken a hip. Guess I have enough padding. I put some of the waterproof pads under the sheet on my bed. Stinky's trick is to throw up in the bed. I got tired of having to wash the sheets and the mattress pad. Some of the house cats just eat until they overflow.

I went and got my glasses adjusted while I was in town. I fall asleep with them on and they were so stretched out they kept slipping down. Went to Walmart and picked up most of the food I need for this weekend. Stopped and checked on my taxes. They promised they would be ready for me to pick up in the morning. I want to get all that done so I don't have to worry about them. The campground is only about 60 miles from here.

I am accepting one of the offers I got with a few small changes. One strange thing is that she does not want my fridge. So I will have to try and sell it. It is an oversized stainless steel fridge with french doors that is 10 years old and works awesome. Not something I can sell much before I close and move. I need my food!

Have another showing tomorrow which my agent says is OK since this buyer hasn't accepted my counter offer yet. We'll see what comes of that. I just don't want things to get too complicated.

I bought an Easter Lily and a hyacinth plant today and boy does my house smell nice! :D

Also went thru all my clothes today and got rid of two very full trash bags full, to the Goodwill store down the street.
