Another Week Begins

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another Week Begins

Postby Colliemom » Mon Apr 08, 2019 7:19 am

Morning all. Monday again and another week that will probably fly by. Cloudy and damp here this morning. Had pretty good rain last night and 62 degree Weather yesterday. Lots of bare ground up here now. Just piles and deeper drifted areas of snow left.

Beth, don’t blame you for deciding to head to Keystone early. Hopefully you will beat the Weather. Shelia, sure sounds like it’s time to head for home. Pat, was really great hearing from you. It’s so said, all the destruction from the flooding and people’s livelihoods being washed away. Hard to believe Bronc is 5 already. You have a future Rodeo cowboy there I think. Lyn, hope that adventure or mis adventure is the only one you have on your trip. Adventures are fun, but that was a bit extreme. Sorry about your steps. Hopefully they are still useable.

Heading out to the garage this morning and get back to my project. Haven’t accomplished much these last couple days. Been enjoying the warm weather, visiting with friends and out walking. So you all have a nice day today, stay safe.

Good morning all. Sue, nice to be able to get out and about, isn’t it! I spent the day in the backyard cleaning up one section of yard. Leaves were actually sopping wet so was a bit of a chore. Made 3 trips to the dump, stuffed the bags in the car rather then pulling out the little trailer. Rascal got to go for a walk too. Lots of walkers out and dogs. I had one dog that was off leash with no human in sight approach us. Luckily he/she was friendly so no problem. But have to say it made me a bit nervous at first. Beth, hope you get north with no problems and get set up before the weather changes. I think I may go ahead and get the RV dewinterized this week. That way next week when I head out I’ll be able to have water. It’s just a one night and I’m sure I can do without it but it’ll be so much easier to have it. Plus I need to get propane and start loading in all the stuff I took out last fall. Probably won’t put things in the same places so I’ll spend time wondering where I put it! Okay, that’s it for me. Need to get going and try to get something accomplished today! Have a great day and travel safe.

Another nice day in northern California ! Poor Mandy cat has gastritis from her anti-thyroid RX so it's been a tired weekend up with her, waiting for vet to open to ask what to do, besides stop RX for few days. Meanwhile I'm heading shortly to Firestone to have the battery I had asked for put in, as they put wrong one in last week. Tomorrow I'll head to Harps in Lincoln, about a 20 min drive, for the house batteries I ordered and a number of other checks and fixes. By chance my handyman has a friend who details cars. Had him come part of Saturday and Sunday and both my RV and my PT are shiny and clean with fresh wax! Should get better fuel economy with all that slick surfaces! HaHa!
Oh, and keep your fingers crossed, a couple is coming by for a second look at my GMC bus which he is thinking of buying! Not holding my breath but sure would be nice to gain back 40 ft of my driveway !
Have a good day everyone.

Spring sprung here last week and now it is gone again LOL We are finally getting some rain after predicted soggy rainy weekend...not. I think I missed my calling, I could have been a weathergirl and been wrong most of the time and still kept my job. As a nurse that certainly wasn't a luxury I was afforded.

Have some housekeeping chores to tend to today. Since I did all my deep cleaning in January and February in anticipation of being out working in the yard as spring arrived. I really cant do that yet. Foiled again. So since I got taxes done, my older laptop updated, I guess I will just do the steam mopping I had planned to do last week. I think I need to go somewhere. ROAD TRIP. Might go check out a couple of campgrounds close by when the rain lets up. Not today. I want to clean my gutters but thinking I need the leaves and stuff to dry out a bit. I always get a shower when doing this so guess it will wait a while longer at least until it warms up.

Safe travels Beth and hoping Lyn got herself straightened up.

I don't even have the For Sale sign up yet and I got a full price offer on my house this morning!!!! Yay!!! Doin' the happy dance!!!

Will be meeting with my agent tomorrow to look at the offer more closely before accepting it. But I didn't see much on the offer that looks negative. There was mention of the roof so will have to see what they want with that.

They want a 30 day close after the offer is accepted, so I will have my work cut out for me to get packed and moved by then! But better now than later, when it is much warmer out.

I didn't even get to bury my little St Joseph statue yet and he is doing his job already! Maybe he didn't want to get buried in the dirt with the ants!

Congratulations, Barbie! Maybe you should ask for more money???

Thanks, Karen, for the tip on Whiskey Flats RV Park in Hawthorne, NV. It is really nice, and this area has very, very, very few nice campgrounds--no state or county parks nearby either, which are always my first choices. I like the paved sites and the gravel seems to be hard and not much dust. While I love Valley of Fire, the dust was awful there, so I had to keep my windows closed. Other big reason for stopping at a nice commercial campground once in a while is two weeks of laundry!! Nice laundry room here--washers and dryers are only $1.25.

I am staying a second night here to rest up and finish two more loads of laundry. Did two loads of clothing yesterday and now have changed bedding and towels, and have a couple small rugs, including one that was at my door that mechanic got filthy while fixing my AC fan motor a couple of weeks ago. I asked for a spot close to the laundry and that is what I got here. Cost is not bad for commercial, also. Terrific view of mountains in distance--most have snow on top, by the way. Next stop on my way back to Eugene is Susanville, tomorrow.

Other tasks for the day are finishing my taxes and wiping down a couple more walls. I use a damp cloth to try to get rid of the dust in this place. I think dust makes my morning sinus problems worse, so I try to work on it a wall or surface at a time. Did all the bathroom walls yesterday. When I get to Armitage on Thursday, I will be able to wash my rig in the campground--no rules against it! Really need to get all this desert dust off.

Tip: I've been using the Tide pods for a long time because I don't like to carry big bottles of laundry detergent, but lately, I have been buying the small, $1 bottles of Tide at the dollar stores. The bottle says 6 loads, but I use two capfuls because I like a lot of soap. Also keep one bottle in the bathroom for washing out undies and things when I start to run out and am not near a laundromat.

I am happy with that price. I think it helped that two other homes here in the park that went up for sale last week are way over priced so it made mine look really good. I needed a quick sale since I am in escrow on the other house with a 90 day contingency on selling this one, so I can't afford to sit on this very long. I am still getting over $25K more than what I paid for it a year and a half ago, so that is a really nice profit even with the work I put into it.

Good for you, Barbie! I hope this sells quickly and you can move into the park model. Glad you deleted your family from FB. They don't need to know a thing.

YAY Barbie, that is awesome. Now you have to get your butt in gear LOL start that packing process.

Judy glad you like the park. I always stay there on my way to or from Vegas. AND I also stay in Susanville. Then it is a decent jaunt to home. I started staying at Whiskey flats when they very first opened and they were so nice and accommodating that I make it a regular stay now.

Awesome news, Barbie. I'm a strong believer in pricing right... Sounds like you did.

Judy, good that you got a good recommendation and it's working out.

I decided this morning I only need I day to get to Keystone and the weather is wonderful at this little city park in Nebraska so Ty and I walked into town and paid for a third night (two nights are free). The extra nights are only $10 each but require approval. So Ty has been happily playing in grass for a few days. I also recommended the city put out a donation box. It's only 3 sites on gravel across from their really nice park... But I'd gladly donate something on my free nights for having this available... With water and electric. I saw reviews complaining that the showers by the pool weren't available and no dump station. They really complain about that for free? Yep they do. And when Ty and I walked into town I saw a sign indicating a dump station down one street.

Happy Monday all. I'm about to check if I'm needing any food or tp, etc, and will stop tomorrow if so... Will stop to top off my propane (don't want to take any chance with the snowstorm and cold) and will also fill my gas shortly before arriving... In case of a power outage and needing the generator. Heck I'm preparing for winter lol

Yesterday I went and met Birdie to eat boiled crawfish at Crawfish Town. She was coming through on her way back to Texas.

I made a quick trip to town this morning to see about ordering a microwave. I would have bought one from the local appliance dealer but he doesn't install them. Went to Lowe's and the one I need was on sale. Lucky me. lol I am still waiting for someone to call to schedule the install. That can wait until next week.

After lunch a guy came to clean and service the A/C central unit. He was in and out and in and out. Annie is still looking for him. The last 2 times we had some worked done on the unit they wanted to sell us a new system. I was surprised that all this guy told me was to change the filter monthly. He probably got a ton of cat hair out of it.

Congratulations, Barbie. I hope everything goes smooth and fast.

I don't know if Hank is going to get his walk today. It just started raining. My yard could stand to be mowed but that's not going to happen before my trip. My taxes are still not done so looks like I won't get away until Wednesday.

Just got a second full-priced offer but the buyer is out of state and has only seen a video of the walk-thru the agent did yesterday (same agent as the first buyer). A little more complicated and iffy but will discuss it with my agent tomorrow.

Also discuss whether you might want to counter both saying you have multiple offers at list price and ask them to come back with their best offer.
