Quiet Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Quiet Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Apr 04, 2019 6:26 am

Morning. Clear skies here this morning, supposed to be sunny till tonight, then rain/mix and possibly freezing rain for early a.m. But temps are heading toward 60 by Saturday :D

Nothing new going on here, just working on my garsge project. Making some changes to my ideas as I go along. Been doing some demolishing along the way. Had a few fights with long nails that refused to come out despite using every ounce of strength I have and every trick in the book. But I accomplished what I wanted to do so far. Now that demolishing is done, today is construction, after I go get a few pieces of lumber.

Really enjoyed reading all the posts on roll call day and getting updated by a lot of you. Thanks for checking in. Beth, nice to see you and Ty out walking a lot. I know I enjoy exploring with my two and walking has become such a daily habit, that I miss it when we can’t go. Once the snow melts off some of our favorite walking places, we will be expanding our horizons. I know Molly is ready for new territory. Same old is getting boring. O’Sharon, glad to see you have an upcoming reservation. Sounds like fun going with friends trying out their new rig. I’m really antsy to get mine uncovered and start getting things ready for summer. New WD system, upgraded spare tire and new battery on the agenda. Got some interior remodeling ideas going around in my mind. Nothing big, just cosmetic.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning. I got up with the best intentions of weeding my yard. But the weather has other ideas so guess I will just spiff up the house by vacuuming, dusting, steam mopping the kitchen/dining area/laundry room and guest bathroom tile floors.

I do my best work in the morning (AFTER coffee of course). After lunch not so motivated. I do need to vacuum seal some meat I bought at the store yesterday. I sure cant get out of the grocery stores on cheap. My bill is always over $50. I did need fresh veggies and meat. I am working on eating much healthier as I have gained 5 lbs but need to lose 15 ha ha So Emma and I will go for a walk if it isnt pouring rain today, hopefully will be a longer walk. I did resist buying any ice cream yesterday............I didnt eat ice cream for years and the last couple years seems I really want some. Need to break that habit. I dont have a big sweet tooth so that is a bit of a blessing but dang that ice cream calls my name...but I didnt answer yesterday ha ha

Going to bite the bullet and do my Income Tax this afternoon....geez I need to quit procrastinating this.....just do it I said to myself.

Good Morning, Sue, Karen and all who follow.

I'm taking a new route which I love doing. I had no clue this state park had the dinosaur trail, for example. A lot of this time is spent to mark away the areas to return to. Or not, as the case may be... But there's always something! In a couple days I'll meet up with my tried and true route north for the final part of the trek. So far the weather is being very accommodating. Last year that wasn't the case. Heading north in April, especially early April, can be quite tricky.

Sandi, I got your pm, will respond later.

Had a frustrating day yesterday with a Firestone dealer trying to get the Interstate battery I wanted in my van. Suffice to say they are incompetent and I'm supposed to hear soon from Customer Care people.
On the good side, a couple with a bus exactly like my big bus, wants to look as engine In theirs failed. Keep fingers crossed but no illusions of profit here, just want it gone!
Taxes in a stall after discovering Navy did not send Mel's 1099 as part of mine, so have to file and amend later when it arrives. Ugh and I was done except for that form!
Nice weather here with occasional showers, but mostly 70 during day. I'm busy dreaming of June trip to Oregon, while trying to get my checklist done to get vanbready and continue with the house etc. today I'll continue on all fronts.

The bad weather woke me up this morning and all the cats were in the room looking at me like I'm suppose to save them. Gave some thought to going in the center bathroom. Couldn't get a weather report because the internet and TV were down. Was getting flash flood alerts on my cell phone. I think most of it has passed. The yard and parts of the pasture are lakes. I haven't been outside to see what the rain gauge has yet. The hail passed North of here thank goodness.

Since the computer and the TV were off I vacuumed the house. We never did lose power. Took some turkey wings and sausage out of the freezer to make a gumbo. I am still working on getting things out of the freezer. I still haven't finished the Mardi Gras ice cream. Talk about a sweetness overload. Part of it is like green syrup and I throw that part away.

I think I overdid my walk yesterday. Last night I had to take some Aleve when I went to bed. My hips and back don't hurt during the day but when I lay down It hurts a lot to turn over. I had to be careful how I moved or I would get leg cramps.

I called to check on my taxes and they are suppose to call me back. I'm not going to be a happy camper if they aren't done by Monday.

Talking about taxes. I got my state refund but could really use that federal refund soon. I dropped the rig off yesterday early evening so that they would have it to change the oil and go over it for me. I knew it needed new tires, but the price for 6 still caught me heart in my throat. I told them it was a good thing I went back to work on Monday. After 5 years they also recommended new shocks. The other stuff was all appropriate but it all added up. I do trust these guys. They are always the first to mention what I could safely put off or wait to repair. (Like the small chip in the windshield) Just a reminded to all about tires: They mentioned that the two front ones are 5 years old. (I had had to replace them early on in the life of the rig after discovering that one had been so damaged by not being in alignment.) Apparently the other back 4 are nine years old. These came with the rig that is a 2014 model. Yes, several of us have learned not to trust Thor products.

Dogs have been out most of the day, so I have been told. I need to head out with the pooper scooper while it is nice and police the yard before the growing grass covers everything.

I am looking forward to tomorrow being Friday!

Oh, Tina, that's crazy. I did check the dates on mine when I purchased but it was an afterthought. It's amazing what they might have in their warehouse! Glad you didn't have trouble with them.

I e-filed my taxes... It amazes me how fast my money gets deposited doing that.

I wanted to arrive a day earlier than I planned... Now I could be 3 days early. I just skedaddled today. I stopped for a hike and late lunch at my intended stop but felt energetic. So I've made some plans to cover one day and contacted my boss about whether electric will be on by Tuesday. He'll let me know tomorrow. If not, I'll take one more down day. No biggie either way.

I'm looking forward to seeing you both. I'd love to take you around Custer State Park and to Mt Rushmore for the lighting ceremony... If you bring yourselves and the car! I'll have the state park pass. And hopefully I'll have the store covered!

a super lazy day today... got up went to the library to finish taxes one generally needs to have a check book to give them the routing number... hmmm forgot it last week yesterday I was busy so ran in to quickly give it to them then they had to print the papers off and apparently the computer and the printer just weren't speaking for a moment finally told them I would return got over to the church just prior to the memorial services to start... after words joined with the family for the luncheon then indexed for a few then back to the library by the time I got home decided a nap was in order... so set the timer for an hour woke up then either games or FB when I heard the loud noise of something coming into my space... looked out and there was the RV mechanic had to quickly get dressed cause my thoughts was no one coming out jammies will feel cool  and they were... now I am really embarrassed as he looks at the oven that I've not been able to light since Sept or so... he lights oh my guess what was going on is that it had shifted somewhat so I couldn't see the pilot light come on and then I wasn't turning the controller up so the burner wasn't lighting as I thought that the pilot light wasn't on... yep not my finest moment...
he will need to come back to fix the sliding door and do some other things think he is coming back to also take down my solar panels and make sure that I get the slides in without the generator not sure if the batteries will do it by them selves. I am usually plugged in except here and think I typically turn on generator... or have it plugged in to the truck but for some reason the truck isn't charging the batteries so don't know if that will be a help. then after he left I did nothing but played a couple of games and crocheted a row have the border done on the new afghan and oops picked up a book one that kept me up way to late last night...
that ladies was my day need to find something to eat but it's after 9 so don't know what I want probably shouldn't have anything but may do crackers and cheese

Hi gals!

Been very busy the past few days! Getting the yard and house ready for listing, photos and potential buyers! Got it all done tho, finally. My agent came by today with a photographer to get pics and video of the place for the listing. Should hit the market officially tomorrow and the sign will hopefully be installed tomorrow as well. My agent is very impressed with how everything looks here, so that is good! Now, I just need to keep everything looking nice until it sells!

I am exhausted tho! Once my agent left today, I grabbed a sandwich and took a 3 hour nap! I get to sleep in tomorrow too!

I didn't even have time to pick up my prescription until last night. I realized that the price I was quoted at Walmart was because I got new health insurance and they didn't have that in their records yet, so it ended up only costing my $5. I am starting to feel a little better tonight already with less discomfort from the UTI.

Time to head off to bed...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
