It’s Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Tuesday

Postby Othersharon » Tue Apr 02, 2019 1:45 pm

Afternoon everyone. Hadn’t planned on posting this late but been busy doing....not much!! Anyway, just made my first reservation for an overnight mid month. Sure hope it warms up at night before then! Means I’ll want to dewinterize before then. Good friends are picking up their brand new 5th wheel that day. They want to camp somewhere fairly close to the dealer that first night to check everything out. I figure it’ll be entertaining if nothing else. I’m not getting between the two of them! No way! Rascal and I will just watch from across the way! They are so excited to get it. It’s actually something they’ve talked about for years. So anyway, that’s my news! I can’t believe I actually made a reservation for so early in the season. So now I have to get busy and get Lola ready for a trip. It’s only about 40 miles down the road at the state park so an easy drive. I’ll load up and drive to the dealer to help unload the old trailer and then we’ll drive back about 15 miles to the campground for the night. Kinda roundabout but should be a fun trip anyway. I may decide to stay an extra night but I’ll have to play that by ear.

I went and picked up the cat this morning so hopefully done with that. I put him in a big kennel to settle down before I turn him loose. I sure hope this takes some of the fight out of him. Even though they are fixed some of them still want to fight. I wish they were all like Orange Boy. He gets along with everyone but don't try to start something with him. Every time I set my alarm to get up early I wake up 2 hours before it goes off and can't go back to sleep. That makes for a really long day. I have my meeting tonight so have to go back to town.

Thanks for the warning about the Catnip. I'll keep it in a pot. I had to laugh at Frosty when I called him to come in. He did a double take when he passed the catnip plant and had to go back and smell it.

They still haven't called me about my taxes yet. It usually only takes a few days. If they are having to deal with the estate lawyer I know what the problem is. He isn't in a hurry for anything but to get paid. I have a campout next week and I don't want to have to come back to deal with the taxes. I will only be 60 miles from home but still don't want to have to come back.

I got up at 5:30 am this morning, but I had to get up anyway at 6:00 am to move into a better camp site, so I just stayed up. The campsite I was in was on a slope and even with boards under my front tires, I could still feel it inside. I chatted with some neighbors last night and found out they were leaving at 6 this morning, so I put my chair and "Occupied" sign in their spot last night. Had a check made out and the site envelope ready to go. So was up with my slides unhooked and water and electric unhooked and put away. As soon as they pulled out, I pulled in and stuck my tag on the post. Then I hooked up and went back to bed!!

This is such a beautiful place, but I am getting tired of the dust. They really need to pave the roads. I don't mind gravel sites, but in some places gravel roads are just horrible. So, it is AC on and windows closed. I will open them tonight when there are fewer cars driving around and not so much dust. There must be 30-40 rigs driving through each day looking for a non-existent spot, but this place is really FULL!

I went out at noon and dumped my tanks and drove to the visitor center. I could barely park because of all the cars parked in the RV lot. There were a lot of people riding bikes, but a lot of other people that looked like familes on spring break inside the visitor center. Very noisy and could hardly hear the movie, so left. I have little energy for hiking and I have plenty of groceries, so no need to go into town. So back to campground and am now inside and set up--very relaxing!!

Sharon, I can only imagine how much fun you'll have with your friends in their new RV! I can't wait for the reports.

Martha, I hope your cat feels better soon. I admire the way you take such good care of them.

Brenda, Steve & I went out shopping yesterday. I was looking for a pair of palazzo pants to wear to an outdoor wedding and bought two! I also bought a top to go with one of them. Tomorrow, friends of ours, from Port St. Lucie, are coming to visit for a couple days, and staying at a hotel just down the road. We take turns visiting each other every year. Last year, we went there and this year it's their turn to come to us. It's about a four hour drive one way.

Barbie, you are a gutsy woman. Since your new home only has one bedroom, you won't have to worry about getting a room mate.

Really late for me for morning lol. Everyday I've been changing my plans. I'm getting antsy to get to SD, but I also don't want to give up my freedom. So I'm excited for all of you who are readying for summer travels. And Sharon, that shakedown trip with your friends sounds like a blast. I just looked at the Oregon gtg in October but can't see me making that distance in two days which is the maximum time I'd have. Maybe next year.

I'll not miss the burrs Ty and I are finding more of everyday this week. Crossing my fingers that tomorrow's stop is better.

Yes, I will be glad to be done with projects, yard work and roommates! I found a couple more places today where she painted something without putting down paper or plastic under it and left overspray on the surface. I just don't get that. It is just a common sense thing to do to protect what you are painting on! Geez!

I originally planned to be done with the yard at the end of the day yesterday but still had some stuff to do so I figured I would be done by 10 this morning, then noon, then 2. I was finally done with the outside at 4pm. I am taking a break and then start on the inside. I hope I can get it all organized and cleaned by midnight. I have to be at work at 9am tomorrow until 2, and then my agent will be here to get the listing finished. She has a photographer coming on Thursday so I can get any last minute stuff done tomorrow evening since I work at 9 to 2 on Thursday again. I am so sore and tired but I just keep pushing myself to get stuff done.

My roommate was complaining this morning that she has bugs in her room because the window screen is missing. Well, maybe that is because I can't get in there to put it back on! I can see why she loves kids, she is just like one!

I asked her to move some boxes that were in the porch. When she was moving them, she said there was a lizard in the corner. She said it was alive so I got a box and went to rescue it. I don't have any idea how long he was in there. He was only about 3-4 inches long but had the longest tail I have ever seen on a lizard, must have been at least 6 inches long! He seemed very happy to be released by the creek. I am so happy to see so many lizards around here now. Haven't seen any all winter. They are so cute!

I keep forgetting to send this... I am quitting now at 9:45pm. I got the inside porch, living room, dining room and kitchen done. Still have the den and my bedroom/bath yet to do but will have to do that tomorrow afternoon and evening. I even got my laundry done today, but still need to fold and put it away. I am exhausted! I feel like I am in bootcamp!

OK, this time I will send this off!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
