Morning, everyone! Remembered to say "Rabbits" just now. Probably too late in the day (LOL 8:00 a.m.) but doesn't hurt to try!
Was out mowing my back yard yesterday because the grass was getting so tall it was getting to the point that I couldn't find my Big Joe out there anymore!! And Joe is a big dog!!
Got about 25% of it done when something let go on the mower (some kind of hard plastic "baffle" underneath, that protects the drive belt - my mower is big and heavy, and self-propelled - and the motor from getting dirt and cut grass up there above the blade). Oh well. The mower, a Troy-Built, is about eleven years old, and has really been a good mower for me. Don't mind spending a few bucks to have it repaired.
Tentatively planning a trip later in the summer to my favorite Cascade volcanoes in Central Oregon: Three Sisters, Mt. Bachelor, Newberry, Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Mazama (Crater Lake) and maybe even Mt. Hood. EXCITED to get back up to these volcanoes. These volcanoes are truly massive, far larger than a person might guess by just looking at some photos.
I drove by Mt. Jefferson a few years ago, and noticed, as I drove through the area (dang, on a section of narrow, two-lane road where it was impossible to stop look more closely!) that Jefferson has basaltic columns similar to those at Devil's Tower in Wyoming and Mammoth Mountain in central California.
Has anyone here ever stayed at Joseph H. Stewart State Recreation area in Central Oregon (near Mt. Mazama/Crater Lake)? I haven't been there before.I am thinking I better get some reservations made there before it gets all booked up, it is only a couple of hours from Redding, Ca. I might try for reservations just before the Redding Pow-Wow GTG, if anyone would like to join me.
Happy trails!
Anne
