April 1st - Rabbits Roll Call

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

April 1st - Rabbits Roll Call

Postby Colliemom » Mon Apr 01, 2019 6:30 am

Good Morning everyone. The calendar has turned over to the 4th month of the year, so you know what that means. Time for the monthly check in. Would love to hear from those of you who have been AWOL and even from those of you who are new to this forum. Got questions, got new rigs, got exciting or not so exciting plans made for this summer etc.?

Only excitement around here is trip to dentist for checkup and teeth cleaning this morning, followed by errands. Then probably work in garage for a bit. Scrapbook is done, House is cleaned, so just killing time till the snow is gone so I can start getting ready for summer. Got a few little craft projects to entertain me too

Okay, time to let roll call roll. Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All, checking in, said rabbits and hope it helps. :D Internet very very slow. Was told by provider A new router will help. Checked Amazon, wow expensive. Any suggestions for reliable brand that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg?

Good morning to all from Las Vegas, NV. Yes we are home. Have been for a week and two days. Was a really busy week trying to get caught up on everything. Still have to take the laptops in for check ups and minor repairs, but have that appointment for today. And by Wednesday it should be warm enough and the wind calm enough we can get our shed painted before "the community manager" comes back to inspect it. It has to be the same color as our house. Actually the house would look better if we painted it to match the shed. But the shed is NOT an approved color. What a crock. Also have to take the artificial plants out of the window boxes out front. So guess they will remain empty from now on.
We've not been to doctor for Bill yet, but do have appointment around middle of the month. He seems to be doing fine, getting his energy back and regaining some of the weight he lost after the gallbladder surgery. He is already bored with being home. Maybe we'll plan another RV trip for May and June.
Going to back up my computers today - try to do it the end of every month.
Hope everyone is finally getting good weather and your travels are fun and safe.

Good Morning! The months are just speeding past! I did say rabbits about 12:30 am so hopefully that helps this month. I'm heading to another state park today. Bad planning on my part because one of the places I wanted to see near it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. But that just gives me another reason to return that way another year!

Happy April everyone.

Good morning all! I said rabbits first thing but it didn’t work....looked out the window and there’s snow out there! Not a lot but car is covered and some on the sidewalk. According to the news there were a bunch of accidents due to icy conditions. I am so over this winter! I want spring! I cleaned leaves off the side porch the other day and I have a new batch now! But on the upside I managed to do some deep cleaning yesterday. Guess you could call it spring cleaning! At this point I’m not sure when it’ll be safe to dewinterize Lola. The days are slowly warming up a bit, here and there but the nights are below freezing or real close. Maybe I’m just pushing it! So anyway, that’s about it from my corner of the world. Hope you all have a good week!

Good morning gals! Lots of you on here bright and early!

I have a mild UTI so have been getting up a few times at night for the bathroom. Need to get in and get a prescription for that.

I did remember to say "rabbits" right at midnight so hope that helps with selling my house quickly!

Have a lot to do today! I need to get the whole yard and outside of the house finished up. A few more weeds to tackle, a little more paint touchups, clean out a couple more flower beds, put down dirt and wood chips and wash off the patios and porch area. Also need to go pick up the screens I brought in to get fixed last week. Then tomorrow, clean the inside and put stuff away.

Gonna go back to bed here for a bit tho...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Morning, everyone! Remembered to say "Rabbits" just now. Probably too late in the day (LOL 8:00 a.m.) but doesn't hurt to try!

Was out mowing my back yard yesterday because the grass was getting so tall it was getting to the point that I couldn't find my Big Joe out there anymore!! And Joe is a big dog!! :o

Got about 25% of it done when something let go on the mower (some kind of hard plastic "baffle" underneath, that protects the drive belt - my mower is big and heavy, and self-propelled - and the motor from getting dirt and cut grass up there above the blade). Oh well. The mower, a Troy-Built, is about eleven years old, and has really been a good mower for me. Don't mind spending a few bucks to have it repaired.

Tentatively planning a trip later in the summer to my favorite Cascade volcanoes in Central Oregon: Three Sisters, Mt. Bachelor, Newberry, Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Mazama (Crater Lake) and maybe even Mt. Hood. EXCITED to get back up to these volcanoes. These volcanoes are truly massive, far larger than a person might guess by just looking at some photos.

I drove by Mt. Jefferson a few years ago, and noticed, as I drove through the area (dang, on a section of narrow, two-lane road where it was impossible to stop look more closely!) that Jefferson has basaltic columns similar to those at Devil's Tower in Wyoming and Mammoth Mountain in central California.

Has anyone here ever stayed at Joseph H. Stewart State Recreation area in Central Oregon (near Mt. Mazama/Crater Lake)? I haven't been there before.

I am thinking I better get some reservations made there before it gets all booked up, it is only a couple of hours from Redding, Ca. I might try for reservations just before the Redding Pow-Wow GTG, if anyone would like to join me.

Happy trails! :D

Good Morning. Made it home yesterday from the Dog show with minimal traffic. Always good to get home after a fun time. Got to spend the weekend with my BFF Laura. We had fun at the dog show and kicking around.

Got a call on Friday that my Motorhome is done and ready to roll. I called today and will pick it up tomorrow morning. Had the courage to ask what my bill would be...........$1450. Not bad. They went all over my MH and found a faulty vacuum hose also, topped off all my fluids so I should be ready to roll now. Now I have to do my taxes...UGH.

Of course I forgot rabbits but I am not convinced it makes a difference for ME. Today is Heartworm medicine day for the dog and laundry. Was thinking about doing some grocery shopping today but .....nah. It is rainy off and on and will be all week so will just putter in the house and get those damn taxes done and filed and paid.

Lyn have a safe trip and lots of fun. Barbie hope your house sells fast. Safe travels Beth on your way back to chilly SD. Glad to see Bill and Carol arrived safely at home. I am anxious to go camping so might check out a few places not too far from home here. Then it will be time to start spiffing the yard and garden. Just enough work to keep me out of trouble LOL

I forgot Rabbits again. I just got back from bringing the cat. I had to get up at 6:00 because he had to be dropped off between 8:30 and 9:00. I'll have to get up at 5:00 in the morning because he has to be picked up at 7:30. They want the pickups done before they start taking more in. There were 20 cats brought in and probably about 10 dogs. One lady with a rescue brought 5 dogs.

I went by Walmart to pick up a few things. I didn't like what was on the deli menu for today so I'm going to make a meatloaf. I was looking for some catnip seeds and they had a catnip plant. I thought catnip was some kind of grass looking plant but it isn't. I sat the pot inside another pot on the porch and Mr P was rubbing on the pot. I was afraid he would try to eat it but he didn't.

Carol, your problems are why I hope I never have to live where there is a HOA with all the rules. It aggravates me that the Parish tells us what we can and can't do.

Have a good trip Lyn.

Good morning ladies,
No rabbits here.
I continue putting things together for everyday living. Got little curtains put up in the kitchen, plain white with a little cut out decoration to the edge. Wal-Mart special, but it seems to brighten u that corner of the sink.
My dad is possibly going into assisted living in the near future. My sister is going there next week and see about getting the house on the market, seems when the lawyer did the executor thing for my parents a mistake was made in the way the lawyer filed the documents. Even though its dads house, my sister is the only one that can sell! Dad can't even sell his own house ! That lawyer had since passed away. So that's just weird. My dad is still doing good but last time he was in the hospital they wouldn't release him unless he agreed to get a walker , well, we know where that went,,,, right in the corner collecting dust.
Abby and Maggie are happy little girls. They enjoy the big yard and Abby bonded more and more, loving the space to do some running and being goofy. They have become quite the little betters! Honestly I enjoy watching their little faces of anticipation when I have a sandwich or whatever. Their little eyes get all watery and they just start wagging. Some people see it as a bad habit, not in my house, I share , even if its just a tiny crumb. Makes them happy.
About time to catch a nap, y'all enjoy your day.

It has been a long 8 years since I first posted on the forum. I don’t post much but visit the forum daily.

A lot has happened in those 8 years especially in the last year. Currently, I am sitting in my home office enduring the noise associated with replacing the floor in the master bathroom. The goal is to put my house on the market on 4/11. From there, who knows…
Hanging out in Oregon.

Anne, I have a three-day reservation at Stewart for July 12-15. And Martha, watch out for that catnip. It is closely related to mint and spreads like crazy, so you might want to keep it confined. When I was a kid, there was a lot of it growing under some pine trees next to my grandmother's house.

Very, very weak cell service here, but I can occasionally get on. Will be headed north and west to Eugene next weekend, but have no idea what route to take. Some campers here are from Reno so going to take my map over tonight. Problem is that there are very, very, very few campgrounds around Tonopah and I do not want to drive more than 250 miles.

Nice weather here--not too hot or cold. Got to walk over a get a new envelope to register for another night.

Judy, have you stayed there in the past? What is it like? I have never been there, but like that it is near Mt. Mazama volcano (Crater Lake).

I need to get outta Dodge for 4th July weekend. My neighborhood here lights up like a war zone from about dusk to midnight the 4th, and generally for a few days before and after.

My Big Joe gets very upset by the noise.

Do you have any plans for the 4th?

Thanks.

Hiya travel pals! No rabbits for me; do turkeys count? LOL. In camping news...
I picked up a new air mattress for my van (Xmas gift card and 20% coupon yay).
Mountains will be socked in with snow for many months, but foothills are gorgeous green.
Might try for a local camp soon. Best for an awesome April.
