Snow/Mix Saturdsy

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snow/Mix Saturdsy

Postby Colliemom » Sat Mar 30, 2019 6:46 am

Good Morning. Chilly here today. Bit of snow/mix coming down too. No big deal, but would much rather have warm rain.

Started on garage project yesterday, but probably won’t be doing anything now till Weather gets better. Bit too chilly out there. Supposed to have sun tomorrow. Need to kind of pick up the house here a bit anyway. Run vac and dust cloth around. Also need to run over to “snowbird” neighbors and turn up heat as they are on way home from FL. Good day for scrapbook and whatever else I want.

Shelia, laughed at your friend and his key delimma. Yep, would have been easier to just have come and gotten the keys, Beth, those mesh nets are pretty tigh as far as bugs getting through them. Sorry you didn’t get out kayaking. Sarah, safe travels as you journey home. Barb, sorry about your friend. Karen, glad your MHis fixed. Hopefully your bill won’t require a heart pill beforehand, Having an RV isn’t cheap.

Decfided after much researching etc., to just stay with one battery in my trailer for now. Not planning on boondocking this year, will be hooked up to Shore power, so one will do. Can always add a second later if I want. New WD system, spare tire upgrade, and the battery are enough for this year.

Been wondering what happened to new people who have joined up. Never hear from them. I know we talk a lot about stuff other than RVing, but we have a wealth of knowledge out there to answer any questions etc., anybody might have. And we like GTG’s, big or small.

Time to get the day moving along here. Have a good one everybody.

Good morning tho it is a sad one as I am packing up to leave FL today. My wonderful trip is ending.
So thankful I had opportunity to visit with so many friends.

Good Morning Sue, Sarah and all who follow. For the first time in my time at this park I turned the heat on to get rid of the chill today. I laughed and told myself I need to get prepared for the cold I'm yet to see heading north. It's only in the 40's this morning. I'm changing to an electric site today, for two nights. I'm trying to decide if I want to go out grocery shopping today or wait until I leave here Monday. Such difficult decisions lol

Safe travels home, Sarah.

Good morning gals!

The sun is out so I need to get started early outside to get ahead of the heat. I have learned to follow the shade around the house . The front yard gets sun most of the day but I don't have a lot to do on that side so will probably start there while it is cool out yet and get what little needs done out of the way.

I better eat some breakfast to get some energy!

Emily has the zoomies this morning! So funny watching her slide across the hardwood floors trying to turn corners!

Have a good day!

Carol, you snuck in while I was typing. So good to see you on here. It's been awhile! Hope things are going well for you!

Oh yeah, I blocked my whole family on FB. My brother said, after not wanting to spend the money to go to the wedding, that I would be judged anytime I posted about spending money on other (less important) things later. Seriously??? So now they don't have to know what I spend my money on. My life and decisions are none of their business.

I told a co-worker yesterday that the money I spent on going to Q was way better spent than if I went to the wedding instead. I would rather spend it being with friends who appreciate and respect me than on family members who don't. When I moved out here, I wanted to get away from the toxic people in my life and surround myself with positive, supportive and fun people instead. So that is what I am doing. :D Thank you for being those people!!

Good for you Barbie.

The only one of my house cats that gets the Zoomies is Annie. Sometimes CC is flying around but he is usually terrorizing the girls. Sweetie Pie has decided that my office chair is now her chair. I have to evict her if I want to use the computer. This morning I managed to get the tom cat that comes around fighting with my outside cats into a trap. I wanted to try to trap him on a Sunday but this morning was too convenient. Monday morning he is going to get an attitude adjustment.

Yesterday I called to make an appointment for Possie for her shots. They could see her at 11:00 so I had to get dressed in a hurry and bring her. Picked up cat food at the feed store while I was in town. It was too warm to leave Possie in the car so will have to go to Walmart another time. I decided to go fish at the pond but there were gale force winds. I caught about 6 or 8 little perch. They were bitting just enough to make me fight the wind for a while. I need to start spraying the weeds that are trying to take over the pond. We made a big dent in them last year. My hair was a fright when I got back from the pond. I haven't calmed it down yet.

My friend that moved to New Orleans is in town for the weekend. Will probably go eat crawfish with them. They don't like the boiled crawfish that is served around New Orleans so usually try to eat some when they are in.

Yea Barbie! Good attitudes. You are doing fine! That is great about Naomi’s 18th.
Karen, your rig is ready all ready? It sounded horrible when you first posted.
Sarah, happy for you having had such a nice time in Florida.
Pat, sorry the SD Jackrabbits lost in the basketball tournament.
Took a load to the TT yesterday, turned on the refrigerator, and will take a load to put in the freezer today.
We had wonderful weather for the opening of baseball season. Our East Village Association had many booths all along the street by the ball park. Tho two bandstands with the sound turned up full blast is so hard on my ears. I walked around down there with my hands over my ears. Left Benji home as he does not do well in crowds, and, there were crowds.
Although I have not left town yet, I am all ready feeling bad about not taking him with me. I don’t think I will schedule another trip where he cannot go.
Sue, get rid of that snow!!!

Yea, Barbie!!! I blocked several cousins during the last couple of elections for making really nasty comments about candidates. I do not care who they vote for, but these were racist and just uncalled for. I also blocked one female cousin for posting very large photos of her niece as a Playboy model. I guess you could say she had "clothes" on, but it was a LOT skimpier than the skimpiest bikini, and I just thought it was weird to post those kinds of photos of her own niece on Facebook!!!

And, good for you also, Martha. The Tom will become much less "tom." You are lucky to have got him.

And I am definitely heading out grocery shopping today. I need some basics, and I am headed up to Valley of Fire early tomorrow morning to try to snag a spot and don't want to have to drive a long way to get groceries. Want to be stocked up on things like milk and butter, etc. Also, going to get some chicken for a chicken salad since I have the rest of the stuff.

I am not used to no-hookup camping. Luckily it is between semesters, but I do want to work ahead on next semester. This means I have a cell phone to keep charged, and also my laptop and my mobile modem, so it means a lot of switching around and running my generator. I have a 12-volt charger for my laptop, but it is extremely slow at charging, and I keep getting error messages when I use it. At least they have very lenient generator hours here, but i hate it when tenters move in next door because that makes me feel guilty for making noise, but at least I was here first and sites are fairly spread out here.

Judy, that's where my solar and inverter come in handy. I only used my generator for very short times to run the microwave. Otherwise during the daytime nothing changes. And during the day my power pack gets recharged so I can use my phone or tablet without worry overnight and keep them charged. But I like boondocking and weather permitting, do it often.

I didn't go to the store. It turned windy early today and there's nothing that can't wait until Monday when I'll be out windy or not.

Barbie, good decision!

Good evening now. Had a full day running around Salem with Laura. We took a drive, did some shopping, checked out a couple of RV parks and Mobile home parks just for fun. I got to see her Mom's new house. We had a great lunch. Laura has her trailer fixed up really cute. We left both dogs at her place today. We were going to take Emma but glad we decided to leave her home with Harley as it did get quite warm out and we never had to rush. They did absolutely fine together as usual. We also stopped and got a great ice cream cone at a little "hole in the wall" type restaurant. We both got the "baby cone" thank goodness cause it was just right.

Lyn I have to confess they had ordered a radiator for a different coach but stole it for mine LOL they like me there . Will find out the $$$ damage on Monday. Then have to get busy and do my taxes to see how much of that I owe.

Yay Barbie, I agree get rid of the negativity you dont need that. Besides what is the big deal anyway I am sure they had other people there to celebrate. Your money is yours to do what you want and makes you happy.

Will be heading home tomorrow. I had a great weekend tho, was good to get away for a bit. Started out a bit rough but ended up being lots of fun.

Had a little scare this morning. Went out to pull weeds and get the gardens cleaned up. Kept coming across ant nests and they were not happy about being disturbed. I found a bottle of bug killer under the sink so went out to spray that on one of the nests. Well, something was wrong with the nozzle (I know I had it facing the right direction!!) and it sprayed forward but also shot a stream back at me and right into my left eye! I ran inside and rinsed my eye for 10 minutes but was still worried about it so I went to an urgent care clinic and had them check it out. They rinsed it out again for about 5 minutes. I brought the bottle with me and she checked on the ingredients. Luckily, it is pretty much organic but she called poison control and asked them. They decided since I wasn't in pain or discomfort, and it had been rinsed well, that I should be OK but to watch for any other symptoms. I feel fine now and my vision isn't affected at all. Good thing it wasn't Raid or something!

I got home and back to working on the yard. I got a lot done but still have more to do with the garden areas just to make them look clean and neat. Another half day on that should get it finished and then I need to clean and straighten up the inside before Wednesday.

Lyn, safe travels on your trip! And Sarah, too, on your way back home.

Martha, where are you keeping the tom cat until Monday? He probably isn't too happy losing his freedom, and he doesn't even realize what else he will be losing soon!

The cat is in a live trap on the carport. I have been being nice to him for at least a year to get him kind of tame. I can pet him but I'm afraid to pick him up. I wanted to try to catch him on a Sunday so I would only have to keep him in the trap overnight. He was fighting with Zero and it just worked out that I got him into the trap. There are 2 cat food cans in the cage so I can give him food and water. Spay Nation will take feral or "community cats" without an appointment so I can bring him Monday morning and pick him up Tuesday.

Glad the spray didn't hurt your eye. I went to eat boiled crawfish tonight and have to remember not to rub my eyes because of the red pepper. The crawfish were well seasoned and I thought my hands would be burning more than they did. Sometimes I have to soak my hands in cold water.

took Shadow to the groomers this morning yep had to get up at a descent hour.... he cleans up so well... I wish I had made a pedi appointment at the same time but one of us at a time is about all I can afford... so went grocery shopping the pedi would have been cheaper  some friends came over for supper he cleaned my air filter was so glad to have it done. made chicken and rice really liked the recipe but made way too much would have feed several more... hate recipes where they don't give you an idea of how many it serves but didn't see it so increased it a bit shouldn't have but it really was good... it was a good visit... showered did dishes and got a nap in and food put away... took time to go to Ace's a good place to kill time... found a stained glass with a cardinal and blue bird on it two of my favorite birds yep it found it's way into my cart.
have a indoor out door thermometer the other day it was stopped at 60 regardless of the time of day so thought that the batteries needed replaced ...so did so .... now it says 85 regardless of the time of day any ideas of what to do??? it is too bad Barbie that you have had to block your family... it seems like you tried to reach out to them. and explain not that it would have done any good. hope that one day things will change...
They had a big snow storm in Salt Lake City with tree branches falling think it must have been a wet snow...
