Last Friday in March

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Friday in March

I am opening an official Friday post, although I see a lot of you are posting on yesterday's post. I flew back from Eugene and am now happily ensconced in a no hookup campsite at Las Vegas Bay on Lake Mead. I've decided to stay until Sunday morning and then head up to Valley of Fire so I can have a better chance at getting a spot there. So, today, I do almost nothing!! Grades are turned in and got my first complaint a hour after I turned them in, which is typical. Need to respond to student but she has not sent her complaints in writing yet, as i had requested.

Very pleasant high of 70 and sunny, with a lot less windy than yesterday. Got my generator going to charge my laptop.

Beth, you need one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Insect-H ... en&sr=1-29

Or actually, you need two or three because you will need them for the rare guests you have. About three years ago, my Napa son came out with both kids when I was in Michigan to do some camping with me. Well, it was June and at Hartwick Pines State Park, near where Sue lives, it turned out to be the height of mosquito season. These poor California kids had barely ever even seen a mosquito, let alone hoards of them! I had three of these head nets I had bought for Florida, so I pulled them out for the kids. They wore them nonstop, even indoors for several days, and loved it.

Judy, if mosquitoes were bothering me, I'd probably get one. I think these little gnats would get through. They're just annoying. Especially the one that got in my eye this morning. I don't use any scented products so usually don't have problems.

It was quite foggy this morning so gave up on kayaking. That was unfortunate because it finally lifted and the water was calm as glass and the heat hadn't settled in yet. Oh well. Things cool off tomorrow and I'm moving to an electric site for two nights before heading down the road. I'm planning on stopping at three other New Mexico State Parks for two nights each to check them out for another time. Then it'll most likely be all one nighters up to Keystone.

My last day in FL this year. It has been a great trip and I got to see many friends as I bounced around the state.
Not looking forward to heading home but life gets you sometimes and I have things in need of attention there.

Spent the day at the dog show and now home and pooped. Emma is especially tired, there was more activity than she has seen in her lifetime LOL I also found out this morning she is a big FAKE. I spent 3 or 4 times lifting her back on the bed thru the night. Laura comes over and the next thing you know Emma just hops on the bed and settles herself nicely into the pillows. OMG she made us laugh.

Got a voicemail from the shop where my Motohome is living. They are finished with it and all is well. I will need to take a heart pill (I am sure) before I get the bill.

Today is my daughter, Naomi's 18th birthday! I have waited 18 long years for this day! She is finally old enough to decide what amount of contact she wants with me and no more supervised visits!
I sent her a birthday card with a letter about wanting to spend more time with her when we visit and get to know each other better. In 18 years, I have spent less than 40 hours with her. Not nearly enough!
I gave her a little children's book that I bought when she was a baby about different relationships between moms and daughters. It is very apropos to our adoption situation.
I bought a black forest cake to bring to work to celebrate with my coworkers. It was so delicious! Still got 3 pieces left for tomorrow! Lol!

I got some bad news today too. A good friend of mine passed away last month. He was one of my customers back in MN who worked on my pop-up camper, the little trailer I towed to Phoenix and then my travel trailer before moving out here. He owned his own maintenance company. He could fix pretty much anything. He was a really nice guy. He was only 56. I don't know what he passed from. A former coworker heard about it and let me know today. Very sad.

Have tomorrow off. I spent this morning finishing up my "inside" list. Tomorrow will be all outside all day. Need to get up early before it gets too warm out. Maybe it will stay cloudy like it did today.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
