Back to Cold Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Back to Cold Friday

Just noon here and Rascal and I just got back from the vet. He was due a shot and needed the heartworm/tick test. Otherwise he was healthy and good weight. So he’s ready for whatever comes our way this summer! Next step is getting Lola ready! I’m getting impatient for better weather. I saw snowflakes coming home!
Barbie, how exciting for you! Hope your “old” home sells soon and you get what you want for it. Carol, glad to see you and Bill are back in the states. You’ve had quite a winter this year. Sue, have you decided on what batteries you’re going to get. I’m glad I went with the closed cell kind. One less thing to have to check all the time! Velda, sorry that your handyman is down and putting your projects on hold.
Guess I should wrap this up and head to the store. I’ve managed to put it off but really need to pick up a few things! Have a great day and week end.

I'm so glad I like jello lol. I'm supposed to be working on moving three websites to a new hosting plan, but my connection drops too often at this state park during the day (I guess I should work overnight when everyone else sleeps). I intended to leave today but my antenna for the tv has been acting up so I just left an rv service place. I called, they said they'd look at it whenever I got there. All the cables, etc, appeared connected right but the guy tightened things, etc and we have no clue if it just started working properly again on it's own or if something needed that little bit of tightening. But reprogrammed and it's working.

I'm going back to the state park in a few for two more nights. Then I really intend to head on out. Seriously, I do lol.

I intended to dump tanks on my way into town but people were talking at the dump station so I drove past and will head to it on my way back in.

Beth, when I have been at places where my cell signal is very weak and I cannot get decent internet, I discovered that between 9:00 pm and 2:00 am, I could get things done. Also very early in the morning, like before 9: 00 am. It is a pain in the next, but doable and worth it if the place I am staying is cheap and scenic.

Just got back from the raft trip from Hoover Dam down to Willow Beach, where i am staying. They took me on the shuttle this morning so I did not have to drive to the dam. Very nice trip in a large raft where you almost never get wet, unless it splashes a little and is windy. Because I am staying here and have a senior federal pass, cost was only $84 instead of $115,

The Gambel's quail are scurrying about, so I need to go out and sneak them some birdseed. Shssssh!

I just pulled into the Elks Lodge in Slidell, LA a bit ago. Will overnight here and take off in the morning for western panhandle of FL. Only one other camper here, a 5er. Lots of empty space. Open the window and turned on the vent fan. Beats the A/C any day.

Should be a nice sunny drive. Was a nice drive today. Heavy traffic! It was stop and go over the Mississippi River at Baton Rouge, Love stopping on that bridge behind big 18 wheeler while waiting for something to happen. One happening was a funeral procession heading for downtown BR, I mean at 12:30 in the afternoon. That had more stop and go. Cleared out on the far eastern edge of BR. Then picked up near Hammmond! I need to go look for some wine for this evening. Wonder what Sat/Sun will bring. Nice and sunny along the coast usually means lots of traffic. They say rain in 3 or so days. So guess I better get more gas and be ready for stop and go.

Martha, I am headed for the RVillage Rally 2.0 in Live Oak. Will be attending with some other of our RVing Sistahs. I have not done one of these and for some silly reason, I thought, I need to experience that at least once! I hope to have time to yell at you and Carolyn on my way back through. Not sure how much time I will have but I shall make the effort.

Have a great evening

Judy, that's why I mentioned working overnight. But I this car I need to coordinate with someone who is not a night person. It'll get done. Sounds like you had a great raft trip. That would be my kind.

The rain has moved in for this afternoon. I dont care we need it. Already have one fire going we sure dont want anymore. Santiam was up to 200 acres I heard but 80% contained.

Took the Motorhome yesterday and got dewinterized so I am ready to rock n roll now. Will be heading out Wednesday and am looking forward to the Dog Show (now that I am learning some lingo LOL) and see my BFF Laura we get to hang for 4 days. We are both volunteering at the National Specialty Dog Show on Thursday then we have a few other places to go over the weekend. Just 2 girls hanging out ha ha

When I get home hopefully Spring will be springing and I can get over to the greenhouse in Ashland and get some flowering plants for the yard. Then in May will get my tomato and squash plants.

I went to eat crawfish in Lafayette with the meetup group. I should be good on crawfish for a month. I like going but don't like driving back at night. I saw the state putting up road signs South of Abbeville recently. I had noticed that in 3 places they put up another speed limit sigh with in a few feet of another speed limit sign. Same sign, same speed limit. I haven't figured out what's up with that. Tonight is the first time I have driven home at night since the new signs. One curve has at least 10 signs warning of the curve. Not a 100 yards past that curve is another curve and not sign one??? I guess they put up signs where people have run off the road. Last year the caution light at the highway intersection near me was out for months. One day I passed and there was a wreck and at least 5 police cars at that intersection. I though surely they would report the caution light out. Nope! I got on line and found an email address for the DOTD and reported it and it got fixed. My son was laughing at me but someone running that light could hit me. There use to be a stop sign in the middle of the road and I saw someone run over that one time.

Birdie, how big of a rally will it be? I hate to be stopped on the Baton Rough bridge, you can feel it moving back and forth. And I hate to be coming home on a Sunday and be on I-12.

Tomorrow, I have a Sister on the Fly luncheon in Lafayette. I think next week I will need to be on a diet.

Martha, last I heard it was up to 600. Not sure if that is rigs or peeps. Either way it is a bunch. I mean a big bunch. They have some neat Key Note Speakers. Will be fun. Good people over there. I hope to catch up with Sarah before she takes off. I haven’t seen her in a long time. Remember when we met up with Paulette in Houston. You drove west...way west and I drove east and pow there she was. It’s always fun meeting up with RVing Sistahs. You run out of anything to do, come on over.

My handyman showed up this morning since it was nice and sunny out. He did a couple things inside, replacing old ceiling panels in the porch, and putting a cord cover on for the ceiling fan in the bedroom. Then he worked outside. I had to go to work but looked nice when I got home. The area next to the driveway where I put the faux grass, I had him put down landscape timbers alongside that along the lot line from the back of the yard up to the street. Looks really nice! I will post pics of that. He also replaced the top step of the stairs to the front porch that was all rotten. I just need to paint that. He trimmed the bushes by the back patio that was way overgrown. Not sure if he got to cleaning the gutters yet but he will be back tomorrow to finish up whatever he didn't get to. Then I need to get busy cleaning up the rest of the yard, weeds, weeds, and more weeds! I got some mulch to put in the garden areas to make them look nice. My place has one of the largest yards in the park so it is a big selling feature with all the garden areas and two patios, so I need to make the yard look really nice. Not too much left inside the house to do. Just a couple small projects left and cleaning. I have tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday off and hoping to have a couple more days off by April 1st to make sure everything is done and clean for showing after that.

Was busy at work and tips were good. I still need to get my taxes done soon!

Also need to get pics posted of the wildflowers from this past week! Will be hard to decide which ones to post since there are so many great ones!

Tomorrow evening, one of my meetup groups is going to Boomers for mini-golf. It is just across the freeway from me and sounds like fun and I will probably be ready to do something fun after working around here all day so I will probably go. Haven't played mini golf for years.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
