Fast Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Fast Friday

Postby asirimarco » Fri Mar 15, 2019 7:04 am

Good Morning to all. I have to type fast as we will soon be on the road again. We left Mazatlan yesterday and are overnighting in the little town of Los Mochis in a truck stop. And it is COLD. And still dark out. Don't want to wake Bill by turning on the generator or heater until he gets up.
Five hours of driving for 240 miles of horrid road. Drawers were falling out it was so rough. AND it cost us 67 dollars in tolls - and 20 dollars not to get sprayed with insecticide.
Today should be good road most of the way - another 250 mile day to nice ittle town of San Carlos right on the Gulf of California. Might only stay one night and make run for border tomorrow. Depends on how he feels. As it is almost 300 miles to AZ. Between all the construction around the RV park and him being in the hospital for gallbladder surgery it was not a fun winter. Will be glad to get home.
Hope the weather holds dry and not windy until we get to Vegas.
Hope any one on the road has a good and safe day.

Good morning everyone. Carol safe travels for you and Bill on your trip home. Does Bill do all the driving?

Good morning gals!

Linda, I do believe Bill does all the driving while Carol navigates.

Just dropped my car off at the auto shop a mile down the road. Overdue for an oil change and want to get a few other things checked out while it is there.

Going to a neighbors home in a bit to give her a haircut.

....got a call from the auto place saying my spare key I gave them won't work to start the car so they need the other key. Ugh! So I just walked back up there, gave them the right key and walked back home. Way too much exercise for this early in the day! Whew!

Hope those of you in the midwest and out east are warm and dry from the big storm going thru there.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I, also, drove today. Not far, but I like it this way. I'm boondocking at Holloman Lake on Holloman Air Force property. I'm intending to leave tomorrow, but it is nice here and has been awhile since I've stayed. I didn't drive as far in as my previous visits. Tomorrow I'll go about 10 miles... To Alamagordo. Lol

Barbie, I got a chuckle about you having to walk back to the mechanic. Sounds like something I'd do.

Carol it's still chiller than Bill will want. Maybe take your time!

Made it to Willow Beach Marina just after sunset. There was barely enough light to back in and plug in my electric. Not going to worry about sewer until tomorrow, and I think I have enough water until morning also. Stopped at Einstein Bagels, Kohls, and Walmart, so took a lot of extra time. And I HATE driving around a busy town like Las Vegas!! Tight parking lots and tight roads filled with traffic at end of day.

Anyway, I am all set for a while, so happy to be settled into this beautiful place. As I was driving in, I saw a lot of wildflowers after this wet last month. So tomorrow will need to take some photos and update my blog.

don't know what the temps in Vegas are usually we are about 10 degree's hotter than they are if so it's not warm up there take your time...although this week end it's suppose to get to the 80 not sure I am going to hope for that I'd be satisfied with no wind and in the high 70's but we just want perfect huh?
my sister is in a rehab for a two week course of IV antibiotics. asked her what the strain of infection it was they told her it came back negative... not sure I understand that at all... but we will hope that is true and the antibiotics will take care of what's not there...
it was game day took biscuits and sausage gravy tasted good other than the biscuits didn't raise up as much as they should... disappointed but they tasted good. then to a variety show tonight was fun
