Monday and Another Week begins

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday and Another Week begins

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 11, 2019 8:29 am

Morning everyone. Rolling into another week of March. That much closer to spring really coming in. My mindset is on camping season now. Want to get a new spare tire for my trailer, get the bearings checked and tires rotated once the weather allows. Then of course dewinterizing, interior spring cleaning and reloading stuff that stays in during camping season. First got to get rid of all that white stuff out there  But I can dream, right :)

Spring cleaning all done, few loose ends to wrap up. Scrapbooking time coming. Ordered a 20x30 enlargement of one of my pictures I took last summer, should be here first of next week. New quilt for guest bedroom should be here today. Taxes are done, good news this year. Temps are heading toward 60 by Thursday with rain, then back down to normal. Stuff in basement headed to Salvation Army store tomorrow as well as recycles to the recycle location. Added an extra day to my Memorial Day weekend camping trip. So all’s well in my world.

Ava, good luck building your deck. Velda, hope van recall is minor issue. Barbie, hope you get to feeling better. Shelia, hang in there. Beth, enjoy your walks and extended stay.

Time to get a move on here. Need to change bedding, get a load of laundry going and go clear snow from yesterday out of drive for starters. Have a great day all.

Good spring morning. It’s actually starting to look like spring may make an appearance here. Snow is melting and temps are on the way up. Still cold at night but we’re supposed to have a couple of sunny and dry days before rain moves back in later in the week. Sue, you make me tired just reading about how busy you are! I haven’t quite gotten into that mode but I just know it’ll happen to me soon! I took a road trip up to Benezette on Saturday to see if I could see some elk. And did I see them! I stopped at the Winslow Hill viewing area first, walked the pup but didn’t see anything. Drove about a half a mile and there was a huge herd of them! I talked to a guy that was already there and he said he lost count after 60 and I was there for about 10 minutes and they kept coming. Only word I could think of is awesome. They were grazing on the exposed grass. Even saw one of the bulls that had a tracking collar on in the herd. An amazing day even if I missed a turn going up and had to work my way back to the road I needed to be on! Rascal is a lousy navigator! No problem coming home, made all the correct turns! Another one of my “adventures”! Maybe it’s time to throw the gps in the car! My phone lost power and of course I had left the charger either in the house or in Lola so I was on my own!
I’m hoping I can get outside today or tomorrow to clean up after Rascal. Still some snow since it doesn’t get much sun but I should be able to at least clean up some of the piles! The joys of having a big dog!
Tina, glad to hear you made it home safely. Enjoyed following along with your winter journey. Beth, when do you have to start north? Alice, hope you have your blood pressure under control.
Guess I should get moving. My body isn’t agreeing with the clock yet! Have a great day and travel safe if you are on the road.

Sharon, I will admit to spending the extra money so that I can keep a charger in each of my vehicles at all times without switching cords around. Yes, I am just that forgetful...or lazy....or just know my weaknesses too well!

Neat that you got to see so many Elk, out doing Elk things. Awesome is correct!

I didn't realize there were elk in Pennsylvania! Thought they were just out west. So cool!

It is cloudy today (no rain yet) so I am not anxious to get out of bed this morning. Have a list of things to do but may just go back to sleep for awhile first. My nose is a little stuffed up this morning but my cough seems a better. No coughing all night.

I got up on a step stool last night to check out the fluorescent light bulbs that weren't working in my kitchen ceiling. I pulled off one of the plastic panels and the other panel next to it fell down and shattered on the floor. The one in my hand I gently set down and it too broke in a couple pieces. Must be really old! So I need to go get two new panels today. One of the light fixtures doesn't work, but it isn't the bulbs. The other one puts out plenty of light so will just leave it as is. Not sure how much that costs to replace but not worth it to me to do so.

Hope you all have a good day! :D

Brrrrrrr chilly this morning only 34° now, up from 25° BUT predicting 62° today.....I will take it and lots of sunshine so I do agree Spring is on its way.

Going out to lunch today with a neighbor so cant really tackle any projects and it is cold outside so that is not happening. LOL Just cruising the internet for a while and doing a load of laundry.

Barbie I have those same dumb lights in my kitchen. I bought some quality replacements instead of the cheap-o ones I usually buy. Also my neighbor had something he used to clean the connections that he just sprayed on as I was having trouble with one of the bulbs lighting. Seemed to fix the problem so far.

Sharon I am like Tina, I have chargers everywhere LOL They are super cheap. I even got one at the Dollar store that works but is really slow but in a pinch I can use it. I have a wireless charging pad at home that I just love, just set my phone on it instead of fiddling with a plug in cord charger.

Can we start whining about it being hot yet? lol It's 80 today. I was moving a 40 pound bag of cat food and had to turn the fan on me when I came in the house. It's going to be warm until Friday and then down to the 60's this weekend. Just hope it doesn't rain.

Barbie, I don't think those light fixtures are that expensive. They get brittle after a while. I have 2 in my kitchen and one takes a while to come on. It's 13 years old so I will probably have to replace it. The light switches they put in this house are the cheapest ones made. The way they are made it's hard to replace them with good switches. I need to start a list of things I want replaced for the next time I have to call an electrician.

I finally got a charger to leave in the camper after I had to borrow one to charge my phone at one of the campouts. My sister is always fussing because her chargers keep walking. She bought a pink one so she could tell which one was hers. I need to paint the barn scissors pink for when they walk. lol

I hope Louisiana doesn't start keeping up with recalls and you can't renew a registration until the recall is done. We have had several recalls that didn't have the parts to fix it for months. I need to price the tires for my car. I'm sure the Honda place is going to want to replace them at the next service. I can probably find cheaper tires than what the dealership charges.

Just got home from Lowes with the light panels. They look nice.

Now I am all worn out tho and coughing again. I guess I will have to take a break in between activities today. At least I am sleeping good at night. I had left my cough syrup at work yesterday so I stopped there on the way to Lowes and picked that up. It has an expectorant in it and helps to loosen up the crud I am coughing up.

Martha, any place charges less than a dealership. Try Discount Tires. I get mine there and they are very affordable.

I need to clean my car out today. Something smells rancid in there. I have a garbage box in the back that I must have thrown something in that needs to go! Also, tomorrow, I am driving down to San Diego to pick up the ferret food and stuff from the Humane Society and need as much space in my car as I can to fit it all in.

Emily has discovered a new fun game. Batting toys around in the bathtub! She is still a kitten at heart!

A couple of years ago, i had my charger plugged it at my son's house. Then he did some straightening up of the kitchen and tossed it in the trash. He was able to retrieve it, but after that I went out and bought only bright pink ones. Grandkids bring their chargers into my motorhome, and they also have been known to take an "extra" one home. Now that I use only pink ones, no one takes mine!!

I even once had a bright pink laptop. People asked why I did not get the usual grey, and my answer was so that it was extremely noticeable if someone walked out the door with it in a public place. Who is going to steal a pink laptop????

And sunny in Napa today. Rained yesterday, but rest of week is looking good. And Las Vegas is going to be in 70s at end of this week. Yea for warmth. Got a ton of internal and external projects to do today. Have a rental car so I can run the last of my errands. Son has lost my backup drive so got to buy new one and put old one in safety deposit box where it will be safer.
