Spring forward Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Spring forward Sunday

Postby avalen » Sun Mar 10, 2019 11:58 am

Good morning all
Still working on my transition to the move, so much to do and doing it helter skelter doesn't seem to be getting the important stuff done. I really wanted to make a trip to my desert spot but think its more important I get my deck built. It will definitely help me settle in better to the new place. The stairs on the the fifthwheel are so scary for a falling accident and I have to pick Abby up for going down cause she can't manage the stairs either. She takes a flying leap trying to bypass them all together and I sure dont want her getting hurt.
I'm really enjoying my air fryer oven, have enjoyed more fish!! I will eve tually get my manuals out and venture into more recipe ideas.
I have no updates on my health other than blood pressure staying good. Although I forgot a pill once and taught me a very good lesson!
Nothing else from me, y'all have a great day

Good morning Ava, and all who follow. Still morning here for another half hour or so. Sun in amd out of clouds and cool this morning, but weather people say we will hit 70 later in week, for first time in a while. I have a stack of paperwork to plough through today soon as my morning stiff neck lets up. DMV let me know of a recall on my van, so now I have another chore to take care of so can renew registration. The week ahead I have eye Dr checkup, a lunch with college friends, a stack of paperwork, supervising my handyman on rebuild of decks, and later in week taking son to eye Dr (yes I scheduled him on different day for same Dr because I may be talking cataracts and son can be very distracting). A week of sunshine (mostly) sounds like motivation to clear my to do list. Or at least I'll try. Yesterday I had a fun afternoon assisting at a baby shower for a friends daughter in law. Been a long time since I've done that and it was definately a fun afternoon.

Good afternoon. I remembered to "spring forward". Well spring might be a bit of a misnomer. Did a few housekeeping chores this morning and had lunch so now I am done. I need to do my taxes but I am sure I will have to pay....again ....so waiting a bit. Might do them later this week.

Also have Motorhome registration in May (at least it is for 2 years), MH insurance in June..........oh lordy. I sure hope it doesnt go up much this year.

Chilly outside despite it being 51° the dang wind is making it feel much colder. C'mon SPRING.

Cloudy today. Ty and I had a good walk this morning and should repeat this afternoon. I did my taxes yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't change too much. So now I'm glad they're over with.

Two other single ladies here went to a co-op in Las Cruces for dinner Thursday night. I've been invited to join them this week so decided I'll definitely be staying until at least Friday. This can't be beat:

I went to a lunch meetup with a couple of camping friends and some other ladies. I'll drive 45 miles for lunch but won't drive 10 miles to go to an exercise class. lol Went to the Walmart in Breaux Bridge while I was over there. I don't know why one Walmart would be better than another but I like the one over there.

I need to get all my tax papers gathered up and go talk to the CPA. The estate lawyer's secretary finally called me about my email with tax questions. I am not at all confident about what she said since her records show that Harold passed away in 2017 instead of 2018. I foresee an IRS mess trying to get all this done.

I noticed when I was changing the time on my watch and clock that the time on my phone is 10 minutes ahead of the time on my computer. :?: For a while my phone had 2 different hours until I kept messing with it and it must have updated.

So Martha, what's your point? (Sounds perfectly reasonable to me!)

Got up at the crack of dawn to get ready for work this morning. Felt worse today. Was looking forward to leaving at 2 again today but one stylist was gonna be 2 hours late so I had to cover for her and work til 4pm instead. Long day when you aren't feeling good and we were super busy all day, so I am very tired now.

I have the next two days off. Need to do a some outdoor spring cleaning if it doesn't rain. My weeds don't look any deader than they did a few days ago  .

Hope you are all having a good weekend!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, I saw a post on Facebook that pineapple juice dissolves mucus and is a great cough suppressant. Someone said it's even better if you add rum. I'm going to try it the next time I get a cold or maybe before that.

The stuff I sprayed the other day hasn't killed anything. I'm going to have to go back with something stronger.

Thanks for the suggestion, Martha. I think that sounds really good. I think I'll leave out the pineapple juice, though.

I had a neighbor that ran a bus tour company and I went on some of her trips with members of a club I belonged to. She had a "bar" on the bus if you wanted to bring something to drink. She would pass out bananas in the morning in case you missed breakfast so there were usually a bunch of bananas on the bus. Someone had the bright idea of mashing up the bananas and mixing them with rum. A few of us got pretty lit drinking banana daiquiris.
