Snow Gone Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snow Gone Thursday

Morning All, the furniture dolly saga continues. I eventually calmed down after not finding screws to assemble the dolly. I thought if I read the instructions maybe it will give size of screws. It said attach castor to ??? wait a minute the castors were all attached so I don’t need screws. Thinking back, there was no packing material, parts were just laying in box. I hope who ever attached the castors did it right before they returned this item to Amazon. Life sure is a challenge. By the way has anyone had their foot measured to buy a pair of shoes. I think the last time for me was in the 70’s. Now you serve yourself, no help. At my age bending over repeatedly to try on shoes cuts off my breathing and my face turns red. If the store does not have a bench I leave because I can no longer balance on one foot. This morning thought I will order a foot measure device and accurately size my shoe size. At a price of $50, I don’t think so. I might add an addendum to my will, buy foot measure device and donate to local senior center. Beth, thanks for the info. I need a small upright frost free freezer. No room for the chest type plus bending over cuts off my breathing. :D Safe travels

Oh, Shirl, you just started my day off with a smile. And my shoe size is different... My feet are wider. I guess that goes with my body is also wider? But losing weight doesn't narrow my feet.

Weather service has us in Benson in a winter weather advisory from 11 pm tonight until 5 pm tomorrow... Then it will all disappear again. Strange weather this winter for sure.

Morning Shirl and all. Glad you got the dolly figured out Shirl. You sound like a lot of us, read the instructions after the fact  If one can even read the instructions these days. So many are just pictures and no words

BETH, I’ve got same issues with my feet too. Up a size and wide width. Our feet spread out as we get older. They got lotsa years on them. But I think it’s also somewhat to how shoes are made these days too.

Been busy here this morning. Heating techs are here to install my new boiler. My old one as wearing out and although I hate to fork out two arms and a leg for a new one, with a special that knocked off $400 bucks and a rebate from my energy company, a few bucks in the pocket was too tempting. So at the moment I have a house with no heat, but it’s warm in here. They are hoping to have it done by end of day. It’s cloudy with a cold wind blowing, but no big deal.

Finished up my kitchen project yesterday, now to give it a good cleaning. Have a closet rod to install in one of my closets and transfer some stuff between two closets. But first want to clean the closet I am going to put the stuff back into. Good time to do it while everything’s out of it and off the shelves. It could use a coat of paint, we shall see.

O’Sharon, hang in there, Springs coming. I’ll be getting tired of winter pretty soon, but will keep busy so it doesn’t bother me. Our local paper ecitor touched on that in his last column, about us getting winter weary, especially with the parade of storms coming this past month. But at same time he said, the season makes us slow down, let’s us spend more family time together, makes us realize how lucky we are to come home to a warm house, food in our pantries, loving family, great co workers, good snowplowing (road maintaintainance) and so forth . It makes us more thankful for our haves and not focused on our wants. I think it teaches us patience, makes us stronger people, able to deal with whatever nature throws at us, teaches us to be humble too. Gets us outdoors, exercising (snow removal) or any winter sport you like or just walking in it’s beauty, getting fresh air. And gives us an appreciation for the seasons. Unless you have experienced a cold, snowy winter, nothing is more exhilerating than watching spring burst forth in all it’s glory. After looking at months of white, you never imagine how many shades of green there are in nature till it’s in front of your eyes.

Enough waxing poetic, Have a great day all.

Speaking of warm houses, I don't have one today. My furnace came on last night and started making a squealing noise and then I smelled something burning so I shut it off right away. Used my space heater over night. I have a guy coming out this afternoon to check it out. Hope that doesn't turn out to be a huge expense.
I woke up to hail coming down this morning. Lots of snow in the local mountains again. I hope it warms up soon!

It's noon and still so foggy I can only see about 1/4 mile. The warm or cold front is still hanging out and just moving back and forth. Yesterday and today it is in the 60's. Tomorrow it's suppose to be 80.

Shirl, glad you got your freezer figured out. I still haven't put the solar light up that came without the screws. I probably have some that would work if I would just go through the jars of screws I have. I never throw a screw away unless it's rusted. It doesn't take much to set me off. Yesterday I brought a bag of cat food to the barn and when I looked for the scissors to open it the ones that are usually hanging in the saddle room were gone. Grrrrrr Don't use my stuff and not put it back.

My feet have gone up one size since my 20's. Depending on the brand, sometimes I can wear a narrow. I am so spoiled to the backless shoes I hate to wear closed shoes. I should be wearing my tennis shoes with the orthotics when I walk but it's too easy to just slip on the others. I have 3 pair of navy Easy Spirit shoes in different stages of wear. The only way I can tell them apart is by the soles. If I buy another pair I think some need to go in the trash. I try to wear the best ones when I go to town but that doesn't always happen.

I am bored and the only reason I can think of to go to town is to bring my tablet and I don't feel like messing with that. I should clean house but don't want to do that either. I would like to go to the lake but it's suppose to rain this weekend. Not fun to fish in the rain.

Had to go out this morning and fill my gas tank in RV and load up on propane. Propane is lasting only 2 weeks in this cold weather so filling it often. So, now I don't have to worry about running out in the middle of the night and waking up as an icicle.

Barbie, you are experiencing the joys of home ownership! Maybe it will just be a belt of some sort.

woke up to snow yes snow in Vegas again.. I was going to post on FB that the weather improved from snow to rain when I realized it was snowing again.. school closer tomorrow but due to fear of black ice more than snow.
listened to the weatherman and AZ was pretty much not able to get to part of the day a pass going into Kingman AZ was closed the pass going into Searchlight NV was closed and most of the day the 15 going into CA was closed at Prim... oh well I wasn't going to AZ today anyway... Saturday hopefully I will go home for almost two weeks then back my sister has drs appt. so I told her I would come back up... thankfully she pays for the diesel or at least told me she would...

The furnace needs to be replaced  . They are coming back out tomorrow to put a new one in. Hopefully, my heating bill will come down significantly after this. It was $200 last month! The furnace I have is very old and he said he has never seen one so old and rusty! It did have a new motor put in it just 3 years ago but that is what quit this time too.

Barbie, did you have a home inspection before you bought your home? If so, did it mention this furnace? If it was that rusty, it should have been mentioned.

I can't remember how long it has been since you moved in. Must be more than one year, right? Not sure that makes a difference.

I did have a home inspection done and they didn't say anything about the furnace other than it was working fine.

I bought this house 15 months ago.
