Oh----so glad you got the fire pit cleaned out and the fire going again. I have been so busy here in Allen I just haven't had time or the energy to throw logs on the fire. I just did a beer search, and I think Lori's last count was back in April and Ernie and her grabbed a couple leaving 111 bottles of beer on the wall!! Retired Happy was thinking about taking one a couple days ago so I am going to assume she did. That leaves 110!!!

I need a couple this morning after an hour long run-around with Walmart last night over 3 screws that were missing out the the new 32 " tv my sis bought, They were the screws that mount the tv to the base. By the time I left, customer service and the manager in the entertainment were well aware I didn't need a new tv (which they didn't want to swap out anyway---too much work----and that all I wanted was 3 D _ _ _ screws!!!!! I am trying to get everything done for Mary I can before I leave on Tues and head back to Tn. Dr. says she can drive so I got to take her to a big empty lot and let her get used to how her foot feels on the peddles without her toes.

Well, I'm relaxing in my camping recliner with my two bottles of beer and watching the fire. Gee it feels great!!!! Don't know where Cedar has her wine stashed now. She has to keep hiding it from Beth!!!

108 bottles of beer on the wall, 108 bottles of beer! Take one down; pass it around................................

Ahhhhh.....this fire feels good this morning, although it's not really cold out----dampness makes it feel nasty!

Thanks to Ava for getting it revamped and cleaned up. I think I'll sit awhile and drink some hot coffee instead of cold beer this morning, as I have to drive to town and run some errands.....in my loaner car from Ford!

Who here plays a guitar so we can get some songs going around this fire??

Hope things continue going better for you, Fernie---you've had one helluva wild winter and spring! Time to kick back and relax a while, for yourself now!

Catch you all later..........

Happy travels!

So, Fernie - what's the end story on the missing screws? Don't ya just HATE little stuff like that! Makes me want to just pack up the thing and take it back. Especially Walmart. Grrrrrrrr...

If it wasn't so early, I'd join you in a beer or two...maybe this evening.

You're heading home on Tuesday, eh? At least you'll miss the Memorial Day traffic. Didn't you say you're heading to Illinois soon, too? Be prepared - it so sooooo humid here in TN. For the last few days, the humidity's been 95%! Right now, it's "only" 71%. Menopause and that kind of humidity are NOT a good combination.

We're taking our little trailer to the Illinois side of St. Louis on Friday. Little mini-family reunion. Going to 'camp' in my sister's driveway. She lives in Brighton. My brother and his wife, in Chicago's western suburbs, will join us, along with their 2 young Golden Retreiver pups. My little Abby hates other dogs in her face, so there should be more than enough chaos for the weekend. I think Abby will spend a bit of time enjoying the peace and quiet of the trailer! Her, and daddy, too!!!

Well, hope your sister's tv problem is all taken care of and that your journey home is uneventful.

I can't play the guitar, but if I have enough to drink, I'll sing for everyone... :o

Ha if anyone's getting kicked out for their singing voice, will be me- and so far hasn't happened, so just sing - and enjoy!

From what I've been reading these past months, I think it will take more than campfire singing under the influence to lose your link around here... :) Finally got husband to work on the Short Bus. He got the sofa/bed taken apart and I carried the pieces away to put upstairs (where of course there really isn't room.) He had agreed to make me a box there instead to cover the water tank and to hold a bed (I'm figuring about 32-34 inches wide) That bed will be plenty for me and the furry ones that want to watch TV with me, and leave more room in the aisle for those of us with big feet (ME) and those with 4 feet. I will also be able to keep it made up which will be simpler. I like simpler. It makes the husband shudder when I take the RV apart inside. I figure, if I'm never going to get my money back out of it anyway, I might as well enjoy what I have :) I am getting ready to take pictures over to Herschel's friends from the pup visit Wed. I had to have a fight with my printer first but....I finally found some older photo paper that it would accept and feed. It keep misfeeding my glossy paper....ugh,aaah. The life span of my printers have never let me feel too confident. The wind is picking back up and the clouds did away with what sun we had for a little while. I'll tuck some coals under the over hang of the rocks that boarder the fire, maybe they will stay 'live if the rain isn't too hard. The snaxs in the food locker are just fine, the only varmits getting into things is us! I need to check my calendar about the September dates for the gtg. I don't know why I have such a hard time making a commitment several months ahead. It isn't just about travel or vacations..... I just don't like to plan ahead but I know I need to....When I was still working there was never any question about planning ahead. It is what I did all the time. Maybe my plan ahead button went through "burn out".....

LOL Those DAMM screws are in the tv base-----I made dang sure I didn't misplace them cause I sure didn't want to go back out to Walmart!!! Of course, I didn't lose the first ones---they just weren't there. TV is working and I got to watch my Cubbies on a 32 tv. I am gonna have a hard time watching them now on my 25 year old 19 inch!! The Cubs beat Houston by the way!!

I spent 2 1/2 hours at the Firestone store today getting her tail lights checked out. Turns out there was a pinched wire in the dash allowing no current to the brake lights from the fuse box. We got lights now-----we got tv with a working remote now------I got my confirmation on my shuttle to the airport Tuesday and life is good. Think I'm grab another one off the wall so that leaves 107 bottles of beer on the wall. Wish I knew where Cedar's wine was---I'd rather have a bottle of that!! HA HA!!

I don't get mad often but when I do, there isn't any doubt. I don't throw things, I don't use much bad language except Damm and SOB but when you hear those, you wantta back up a little!!! LOL

Cedar, if you don't mind, I'll have a bit and I'll just add some 7-UP in there with it. That's how I like it and adjust it by how much or little I add, you can tell how my day was  I've got sore muscles tonight. Yesterday I put together some industrial size shelves for Homie and today put together a heavy duty work bench. One of the bedrooms is his hobby room where he likes to piddle with CB & HAM radios & he had a good set up before we flooded, so this will get his room back better than it was before. But let me tell ya, putting together those heavy duty pieces and trying to hold them in place at the same time isn't easy. Picture this, I've got one end of the shelf proped against the wall, him in his wheelchair holding the other end and I'm trying to get the first shelf bar in place on the bottom, side by the wall is in place, I look over to his side to get that end in place and have to shift it and the end proped on the wall falls and hits me across the back of my neck, yep, it hurt, and the first thing I think of is how are two Quads gonna wipe each other's butts  Hey, you gotta laugh about it, it's the only way to get through some days. I'm gonna go get some sleep as it's almost 2am here, maybe I should go over and start coffee for the morning bunch, but they might sleep in and wouldn't want old coffee.

I'm with Fernie....I love wine but since I don't sip is often....it doesn't take much anymore. I won't say what the glass limit was back in college and grad school... :) I'm a much more frugal wine sipper with excellent results.. zzzzzzzzzz

That is what is fun about the campfire!! I had a couple wine coolers in Az. and nothing since. I can drink all I want at the campfire and never have a hang-over etc. I only had a couple hang-overs in my life and decided that wasn't any fun!!!! I'm grabbing another one off the wall. I think that leaves 107. Lori will straighten us out if we got the count messed up when she gets back on.

Singing is how we started with the beer on the wall!!! 107 bottles of beer on the wall----107 bottles of beer! Take on down---pass it around...........

The good thing is that no one has ever left our campfire and gotten in any trouble for drinking

I think I should have checked the campfire before opening up the nonvirtual bottle of wine. Might regret it later. I may be singing-but I don't think it's about the bottles of beer :? Laying over about 2 hours outside of Austin before going to a state park outside the city. Will be here for a few days. carold

Boy...do I ever agree with these! The bar has definitely been lowered since my college days. Went to the neighbor girls graduation party at 3:00. Sat in the garage and visited with some of the neighbors I haven't really talked to since last Fall and drank two beers....had to come home and take a nap! That never used to happen....
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

And about the counting.....What I remember is the number "enough' as in thats enough to take us through the night...till someone can drive again :) Counting can be so taxing sometimes. But then it was generally a small group I was with so the idea of 100 is like "forever enough" !!! LOL
