Yep! My creek is running fast and muddy this morning! More rain on the way. I just got the flash flood warning on my phone.

Hanging out on bed this morning. Don't work until late this afternoon. Have some things to do around here today but that can wait until I get up later on!

Have a good day!

Wow! The wind just really picked up and it sounds like a hurricane out there! I checked my rain gauge and it shows over 2 inches of rain in it so far! Not even half way thru this storm system yet.

Hang on Barbie, sounds like you are having the usual Louisiana weather. I just washed my camper in 20+ mph winds and ended up about as wet as the camper. I'm sure my shoulder is not going to be happy later.

I wish I could do my taxes but still waiting on the estate lawyer. Have a feeling all that is going to be a mess.

Went to Walmart yesterday with my son. He was looking for some candy for his girlfriend. You couldn't get down the aisles where the candy was. No chocolate for me. There was something on the news about Blue Bell ice cream having Mardi Gras King Cake ice cream. I have been looking for some for a month and finally found one carton. It looks like someone had tried to hide it. It is so good.

Everyone have a Happy Valentines Day!

Just got back from Physical Therapy for my back and strength training. Stopped at Trader Joe's for some salad stuff and picked up a load of fresh sour dough bread, so eating a lunch of leftover langostinos in a lemon-butter-garlic sauce with linguini! Also, a couple of slices of the good bread. Going to hard boil some eggs and fix myself a nice dinner salad, again with a couple of slices of sour dough bread. I could live on bread alone, as long as I had butter to go on it!!

Had the PT guy use my cell phone to take pictures of me doing the exercises. Why?? Because he gave me leg and arm strength-building exercises last week, and I completely forgot how to do the arm and shoulder ones!!! Remembered the leg ones OK, but was doing them partly wrong. Cell phone photos are an excellent idea for us old folks.

Got midterm exams to grade--really behind on stuff because this is a new and very difficult semester. Someone else developed most of the material and did a horrible job of it, so not only am I getting three times as many emails from students asking questions, but I am having to develop supplementary material. Don't they say something about never assume? This time, I was assured everything was ready to go and perfect, and I looked at some of it early last fall, but it was NOT ready to go! Students are confused, and even I cannot figure out some of the instructions, so I am making up my own!!

Raining here--had a brief pause while I unhooked this morning, but raining when I had to walk to the grocery (long ways from where I parked rig) and then started raining when I was hooking up again. Had to fill water tank because I did not want to leave hose out, and got my shoes and my winter jacket soaked!!

Two weeks before I get my "Get out of Jail" card and get to head south!

in Vegas they had rain in some area's an inch which Martha I am sure scoff at but hey it's the desert and that is a lot of rain..and of course I had to drive in it...but late in the afternoon we had blue sky and no rain.
a friend on FB posted some pictures of the desert around Q lots there as well
at least here I don't have to worry about the generator not working  it would be nice if the nice
rv tech would do it while I am gone and I would come home to a working genny

We had a ton of rain today here in San Diego and all around the state. I think we got the brunt of it tho with some reports as much as 5 or 6 inches! I think I got at least 3 inches here. Lots of flooding and damage around San Diego County. Trees down, rock slides, flooded roads, etc. One man died while trying to "surf" along a canal in Escondido. He paid the ultimate price for that idea.

Finally stopped raining earlier tonight. The rain has really killed business at the shop the past couple days. I did three haircuts yesterday and only two tonight. Our spring haircut sale starts on Saturday so that should help bring in customers.

Off to bed here. Got a headache tonight so will have to take some pain reliever before I get into bed.

Read in the news that the least two weeks removed the drought designation for a large part of California!!

How is the creek, Barbie?

And Anne, any progress on the house search somewhere without a dam?

The creek was very high again but is now back down quite a bit. Doesn't stay high for long, just til the runoff stops. More rain on Sunday and then again next week for a couple days.
