Rainy Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Tuesday

Postby Shirlv » Tue Feb 12, 2019 10:35 am

Good Morning All, lots and lots of rain. I’m still in my pjs and trying to get up enough nerve to take a shower. I lived in a house with nice warm oil heat. Now live with a heat pump that blows cold air. The temperature is comfortable except when you want to shower. Apartment living takes getting use to. Moving from a single house and quiet to the sound of little feet jumping over head. The sound is muffled and not startling and she only visits now and then. Since I don’t think children should be duct taped to chairs I will adjust. :D Still trying to organize stuff. Woke up 4:30 yesterday and thought store the card table under the bed and went back to sleep. Just thought, have a ceramic heater from the Rv. It will warm the bathroom nicely. I know I’m rambling but I’m bored and did I mention it’s raining. Safe travels

Good morning Shirl. Yes, new places take time to adjust to.

I made reservations for 2 nights at this Motel 6 but am changing to a different location tonight. This one is right next to railroad tracks and the trains were very loud all night long. This morning I woke up with my eyes practically swollen shut. I am thinking the pillows have feathers in them which I am allergic to.

I am thinking of going to the Living Desert Zoo today. Only $20 to get in. Cheaper than shopping!

I think SoCal is the only place in the country that isn't cold, raining or snowing! Not for long tho, another wet storm system moving in tomorrow for a few days.

Have a good day and stay warm and dry!

Still raining here supposed to get one day of reprieve and then more rain. Oh well at least it isn't snow or ice. Took Emma in to be groomed this morning, that sure won't last in this mud. She shows is in another obedience trial this weekend. She spends almost as much time with the trainer as she does with us but she seems to love it. It's like she has two homes, she spends the day when she goes, they work awhile, go for walks or rides to practice behaving in public, plays with trainers dogs/cats and in between practices some more. No wonder she gets into mischief at home she is probably bored! She is doing really well in competition.
Shirley, yes a ceramic heater in your bathroom is the answer i use mine all the time. Know what you mean about hearing people walking overhead. I lived in an apartment one time and this rather small woman lived above me. When she walked it sounded like an elephant up there! Some people I guess are heavy walkers :D

My high school classmates who are still around get together once a month to eat, so far we have changed the time from six in the evening to five, now we are meeting at noon! Hope the rain holds off for awhile or stops for the day. The side roads are filled with potholes!

Off to get my ready on. Take care all.

Gotta love Arizona. It was downright cold overnight... And I have stayed in bed to let the sun warm the day up. Will be sundress weather shortly.

Shirl, I can imagine all the changes necessary. And I think that ceramic heater will quickly do the trick in your bathroom. And I love your rambles.

Barbie, enjoy and take lots of pictures please.

Good morning, Shirl. I am fortunate enough to be still living in a sticks-and-bricks, but between the cost of the natural gas for my furnace and the cost of electricity to blow the heat through vents into various rooms of my house, heating is pricey.

Additionally, I actually much prefer to wear "layers" inside my home in the winter, and prefer to breathe cold/er air rather than hot, dry air. So I keep my thermostat down around 59 - 60 at night, 68 during the day.

Like your arrangement, this makes for a very cold bathroom at shower time. I don't think mine is a ceramic heater, but I got a small, counter-top electric heater several years ago, just for the bathroom. It has one of those special safety plugs that stop the current if the appliance gets wet. Can't remember what the safety plug is called.

It works very well for me. Heats up the bathroom toasty in about five minutes, shower, turn it off again. It sits on the bathroom counter, once cold weather has passed I just store it in a closet.

Be sure the RV heater you are considering for use in your bathroom is specially designed for moist and humid areas. There is always the risk of electric shock, so be sure to also choose one that has a safety plug.

Good morning. Weather is very silly down here. The snow "event" lasted one day and it was actually less than an inch. Melted quickly. Yesterday we were 51° with sunshine. Today chilly 41° windy and a rain "event" is on the way. Good grief it is Oregon, rain is not unusual most of the time. I just go outside see what it looks like, and dress appropriately LOL

Housekeeping chores today. Didnt do much over the weekend so time to get out the vacuum, dust, sweep, and break down some boxes and newspapers to go over to the recycle bins. Nothing heavy duty today. I am making chicken enchiladas with a sour cream, jalapeno, green chili sauce. I go back and forth between a tomato based sauce at times but I prefer the sour cream sauce.

Will be checking in with Malia's daughter today but she has a friend here who is leaving on Wednesday to go back to Texas, so I hope they do something fun today. Family is coming on Friday to take the Motorhome back to Texas and Angelique will follow in the car.

Shirl I am also a fan of a heater in my bathroom before a shower as my bathroom is furthest away from the furnace so it never gets real warm in there, well not shower warm.

BJ, Emma sounds like she is having a fun time with the obedience trials and you are getting a break LOL Congratulations on how well she is doing. I watched some of the Westminster agility classes...wow some of those dogs are awesome, even the ones you wouldnt think would be LOL

Well breakfast is over, time for a shower, then get my butt a little busy.

I'm the height of laziness. I had one of the pre-made salads from Walmart. If I buy the things to make a salad it never gets made and I end up throwing it away. When I'm eating Possie sits on the arm of my chair like Snoopy on his dog house waiting for a chance to lick the bowl.

BJ, Emma is like having a child that goes to school and has play dates. lol She is so pretty.

I have an electric heater in the bathroom that I use summer and winter. The bathroom is on the North end of the house and is cold in the winter and there's the air conditioning in the summer.

AT &T is going to make me lose my mind. They took over Directv and want to put all my accounts on one site. Every time I try to do that they don't recognize my ID or passwords or account numbers. I am bad about leaving one of the receivers in the camper and it loses the programing and needs to be refreshed. I tried to do it on line but finally gave up and called them.

It started raining sometime during the night and just stopped a little while ago. I think the line of rain has passed us now. I am invited to a women's dinner club tonight. The restaurant is in the downtown area of Lafayette and I don't like going in that area at night. Hopefully I can park close. I think I will only take my phone, money and drivers license.

I don't know why but I keep checking the weather and it keeps saying 15 days of mostly cloudy days... hope it changes I told someone today that I wished it would warm up enough to complain about it being to hot. really has been a long cold winter we were so lucky when it was as nice as it was during the gtg.
got propane today for the buddy remember thinking the last time that I filled it that I had hopes that was the last time. I guess I can still hope for that on this tank lol. think I made a discovery the buddy heats up better the more propane is in the tank. I think as tonight it is getting nice and warm and although I wasn't out last night and the night before was pretty darn cold. 9 gal tank took just over 7 to fill it.
a friend of ours got bite by a rattler that was in his shed. guess it went in there to be warm. haven't heard how he is doing. been a rough year this year for him fell from the sky on to a mountain in Idaho in July did a real number on his body now this...
I have friends that live up in the "area" as Li does hope that they are surviving the snows that that part of WA go.

OK Sheila, explain...
fell from the sky on to a mountain in Idaho
:o

I went to the Living Desert Zoo today. It isn't a real big zoo but it is nice. Most animals have very large natural environmental enclosures.

I moved to another Motel 6 for tonight. Much quieter so far. I stopped at Walmart and bought a cheap pillow to use tonight so hopefully I won't wake up with a swollen face tomorrow. My lips are all chapped so it must be really dry out here!

Will head back home tomorrow morning since I work at 4pm.. It is also supposed to start raining in the afternoon and I don't want to be still on the road when that starts.

was it an ultra-light? They are like motorized hang gliders. Glad he survived it! Hope he gets over the snake bite soon!
