GOODBYE MALIA

It is with heavy heart I write this tonight. Today Malia passed on to her final resting place. She was surrounded with family and friends. Angelique, her daughter was a true blessing to her.

I will miss my friend but she is now out of pain and on to bigger and better things. Goodby my friend, soar with the angels.

I'll miss Malia but I know she prepared and did this her way and I'm grateful for that and that she was not only able to finish her book but to see it getting sales.

Karen thank you so much for being there for her. You were one of her Earth Angels in a big way these past months.

Karen I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear friend Malia. Its comforting for her daughter as well as family and friends that she lived her life doing what she dreamed and that she chose her goodbye her way.

Hello Karen.

I, too, was very saddened to read your post about the passing of your friend Malia. I had been reading her blog since you first mentioned her and her blog here on WomenRV, several months back.

What a very, very strong woman she was, and what a wonderful writer.

Somehow, I thought that she would be touched by a miracle and be saved, even as her health deteriorated. Perhaps I thought this due to the strength of her personality, that came through so clearly in her writing. Perhaps it was just my hope for her.

No matter. Another of the Good has gone.

Thanks for posting Karen. She will be missed by many folks that she has crossed paths with. It is sad to see such an inspiring RVing sister leave us. My condolences to her family and to you one of her best Earth Angels.

I haven't been on this site for a couple of years since I gave up RVing and settled into a permanent home in TX. Malia's passing yesterday made me recall all of the wonderful times I had traveling with many of you including Malia. I loved my RVing days but probably wasn't as knowledgeable about the maintenance and ways of the road as most of you are. I gave it my best shot however for 4 years and enjoyed every minute of it.

I first met Malia here in Austin, when I was just getting my feet wet with my new 36' Tioga Ranger. I later downsized to a 26' Leisure Travel Unity which I found a lot easier to handle but it wasn't ideal for full timing. Malia and I met up again twice down the road, once in Yellowstone and then again in Oregon. With her continual curiosity and boundless energy, she kept me going whether I wanted to get up and go or not. I know I would not have done and seen as much as I did if it hadn't been for Malia. She was also just fun and easy to be around. I'm sure Karen can attest to that.

I am deeply saddened that I won't see her again when I come to OR in the Spring but I'm also relieved that she isn't suffering anymore. I just had to pop in and express and share my grief with those of you who knew and loved Malia,

I hope all of you are doing well and still enjoying life on the road. I have to admit I miss it and all of the wonderful women I met. It was a great time!

Judy just cause you are in a stick and brick doesn't mean you can't be part of the group...many here are or just rv a small amount of time.
