RIP Tioga George

It is with a sad heart I share the news that George passed away last week. I've know for a while but his family requested those of us who knew did not say anything until they had made the announcement. His daughter posted on his blog today about his passing.

I had a gut feeling he had died and only hoped he was not alone somewhere. He will be missed by so many. I think I only got one email from him years ago when I asked him a question. I found him an interesting example of resilience and determination. I'm glad he had many adventures and his legacy is not only his family but those who used his example to follow journeys of their own. RIP George.

Does anyone know how he died? It seemed very sudden.

We don't know how, but he was having problems with one of his arms and hands suddenly jerking. He was also feeling really tired. He has had heart problems in the past. He was 81. If I find out what happened I'll post here.

Carol, your blog was a lovely memorial; like many here, he was one of my first RV heros.

In the last several weeks, he described how he could not work as many hours in a day as before and how he needed help with cabinets. He also mentioned something about not being able to climb a ladder one day.

So combining this tiredness and weakness with the uncontrollable arm and hand, he was definitely not feeling well for the last few weeks.

I didn't follow him although do recognize his name... but feel sad for those who have lost a family member, or a friend whether one met or not
