Monday Morn

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday Morn

Unless things have changed, I'm heading into AT&T no man's land today. They've never had good service in and around Organ Pipe NM. So if you don't see me for a few/several days... I will be back. Lol Meantime, I intend to have fun and how you do also, wherever you are!

Loved the rain! I agree, the Super Bowl & half time show we’re boring. Read during the second half. Continue working on plans for my big spring trip. It takes rime as I want to keep each driving day around 200 miles. It is going to take me me many days because of that. Want to avoid getting too tired as I don’t recover as fast as I used to! The pictures from the lodge where I will end up in Ely, MN are beautiful!
Just found out there is going to be a “destination “ wedding in SEPT! Up near Sheila in Idaho. That will be another long trip in my future.
Great plans for the future! Lyn

Have fun Beth. My fun today has been running the vac and hanging up some new curtains. The other excitement is taking to fur kids to the vet for Lepto shot for Piper and rabies for Molly. Then they can Home home and sleep it off

We are having a big two day thaw here, with some light rain showers and temps in low 40’s. All the snow we got from Winter Storm Jayden has settled down and a lot of melting going on. Anywhere it has been plowed, shoveled or blown with a snowblower is now a sheet of glass ice. I could go skating on my road and drive right now. Needless to say, it is very treacherous out there. There may be a mix coming in later this evening or some very light snow hopefully. Just a Little will help cover the ice. These are normal spring thaw conditions, but this isn’t spring yet.

Otherwise nothing new to report from here. Have a wonderful day all. Happy planning Lyn. I’ll be making more reservations at end of this week again.

Pouring rain again here...

Beth, I hope you have fun and take lots of pics!

Lyn, that will be a long drive to Ely but so worth it! It is so beautiful up there! I forget why you are going there?? (I sent you a PM)

Have a good day, rain or shine! :D

The temperature is up to 78. It's so humid I could skate on the carport. Have to be very careful walking on there.

Not much going on, just trying to round up the things I want to load in the camper. I was going to put some ice in a zip lock bag and the ice maker has an ice jam again. I seldom ever put ice in a drink so there is almost alway an ice jam. I need to vacuum and pick up the cat litter that the Roomba can't reach.

Lyn, I know what you mean about not recovering fast from long trips. I use to think nothing of driving 500 miles a day but not anymore. Sounds like you have a great trip coming up.

Interesting morning. I woke up at 4:50 am to make a reservation at recreation.gov, but discovered the site did not open until 7:00 pacific time, so back to bed and got up again at 7:00 to make reservation. After I did that, I peeked out window and discovered it had snowed overnight!! So threw on some clothes and went outside to take photos! Then back to bed at 8:30 and up again at 10:30 am after receiving two phone calls from students! Overall, I really did not get much sleep.

So, I have taken my pills and had breakfast and am finally up for good. Snow has all melted now, which I knew it would do. Sun is out for a few hours then it will rain/snow again tonight. I'll post photos on my blog later today, but I have some phone calls to make and need to get picked up for a rental car again this week. Whew! I know this isn't much snow, but it is a lot for Eugene! Guy next door forgot to put his awning down last night so his neighbor is helping him get the snow off it so he can roll it up.

I should have taken photos of the daffodils that are almost ready to bloom. As I edit this a few hours later, snow has all melted, so I am glad I got out when I could.

We had originally planned to be in Yuma by today soaking up the much need solar rays. However we haven't left the farm yet. John has some health issues that needed to be addressed so last Tuesday he had the stress test and now this coming Thursday he sees the cardiologist. Our plans were to leave after his appointment (have the truck already packed with our luggage) if the only issue was adjusting his medication. We would adjust our plans if more complex treatment needed. Now the forecast is for 3-4 inches of snow tomorrow and additional4-6 inches snow Thursday and Thursday night, so looks like we won't leave until Saturday. In the past we have left the day after a storm and the roads are still too bad. Hate to give up 2 weeks of sunshine but you do what you have to do in life. I would rather miss two weeks than not go at all. In the meantime I am cleaning out and pitching stuff. Last week was a real killer of cold snap so I stayed under the quilt most of the time.

Rita, I hope John's health issues are easily remedied and the snow storm isn't as bad as they predicted, so you can get on the road to warmth and sunshine soon!

Linda, I’ll be down in Napa by March 2, if things continue to go well. Looking forward to some sunshine.

Today was mostly at home..decided I needed water so put the gals of water into the tank had about 10 then saw it looked like Cris and Kemmy were getting ready to leave so went over to say bye but they aren't leaving till tomorrow headed down to Orgon Pipe (where you are Beth) mentioned that I couldn't get my pump to work (have a barrel with pump ) to pump water into the tank but cause I couldn't get it to pump and the barrel leaked hadn't used it this year..so Cris came over and fixed it so happy about it so much easier...wasted a bit of water though as I wasn't watching and over filled the tank ...went to town got drinking water also found my table still had stuff on it from Christmas that white glittery stuff only to loose it again as I picked up stuff to put away and havn't done so yet... perhaps tomorrow or the next day... youngest daughter was driving and decided to call mom so we chatted for a long time...she has blue ray wish I did
so all in all a good day even remembered to put the tags on the license plates...

Just coming on to say I'm roaming, but with service so far. So I'll be checking in :) Tonight I'm outside on BLM land, but moving inside the park for a few days tomorrow (actually today now). I'm guessing if I'm roaming here, I'll be roaming inside the park, too. But no guarantees.

Barbie, I say skip the wedding.. And don't feel guilty about it. If you find you have a little extra spending money do your coastal trip for yourself. No wedding included.

Sheila, I'll keep an eye out for them.
