Frosty snowy Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Frosty snowy Saturday

Good morning, everyone!

I am bummed I’m missing our long planned trip to wander around the desert. Oh well, after a 52 day delay we FINALLY got keys to the new apartment. We’ll be moved by February 1st and with a bunch of follow up doc appointments from the pneumonia hospitalization, we won’t go anywhere until March... then if all goes well, head to Florida in mid-March for Mary’s 60th birthday. Looks like a trip out west will be postponed until fall.

Good Morning Mickie and all who follow. Frosty cold up here but the storm is missing this part of MI as far as snow goes. But cold Arctic air is not going to. Glad to hear you are finally getting to move. Maybe your postponing that trip and not being able to move was a blessing in disguise since you got sick.

Goi g to be a good weekend to stay in the house and I have plenty to keep me busy. Starting to wrap up my basement project. Few things left to do and will be done. Then clean up the stuff sitting around that needs to get put away. I won’t say this is the last project, as one will probably pop up, you know me  But it’s time to do some cleaning and some painting upstairs here. Was talking with a Friend who does a lot of projects like I do, only more so, she’s quite the woodworker among other things, said these projects we do help to keep our brains sharp as they require some creative thinking. They do indeed.

We also plotted out our summer plans so we can start making reservations for late July into mid August. Will be doing some events at a couple of State Parks, the U.P.. State Fair and a week exploring the Keweenaw Peninsula and maybe Porcupine Mts. State Park. One park will be the base for those two explorations and we will move to two others for the rest of our fun. So I will have my entire summer planned and it’s still 4 months away

Went to the RV show here yesterday, not a biggie but nice little one. Course it’s all the big rigs from full time 5ers to 26-28 foot TT’s and Toy Haulers. We’re a few smaller size ones though. Maybe 30-40 rigs. But I didn’t see anything I liked if I were in the market for one. The trend seems to be toward interiors with light gray walls and darker gray trim and cabinets or very dark brown cabinets, gray bedding etc. and enough interior LED lights to light up a campground. Way to much gray my opinion and a lack of coordinating colors. My reaction was “yuck” on them. But that’s my opinion.

So, off to the races in a little while here. Should clean house, but, rather head to the basement. Have a nice day, keep warm, dry or whatever your weather brings. OSharon, mom nature is making sure you get some use out of your new blower for sure.

Good morning Mickie, Sue & everyone!

Mickey, that is so exciting about the move into the new apartment and also the trip to FL and the trip out west as well!

Sue, as usual, you are keeping yourself busy around the house. But when it's cold outside, it's nice to be occupied inside where you can be warm.

Am enjoying reading about the GTG in the Q and hope the fun continues there.

We have woken up to the low 50's the past couple mornings, but have a blast of cold weather headed this way tonight and will have frost again for a couple mornings. For those not on FB, after complaining about my right arm and shoulder hurting and multiple trips to see my doctor, I will see an orthopedic surgeon Tuesday morning with CD's in hand which will be copies of x-rays and an MRI and get his take on what is going on. Church is in the morning so I need to practice for that again. Went to church earlier in the week so I could practice there as well.

Have a good day and stay warm!

Irmi, I am so glad that they might get to the cause of your continued discomfort and hopefully get a plan in place to correct whatever needs correcting. You and Steve have too many plans in place that I know will be much more enjoyable with a fully functioning shoulder! The west awaits for for!

Guess the big RV show starts in town today. I will probably find a reason to wander down sometime this week but I'm not in a hurry. Lyn offered to drive over to the RTR yesterday (Rubber Tramp Rendezvous) I had to agree that her truck was a much better match for the condition of the road than my little no clearance Honda Fit. We listened to a woman speaker for what was billed as a presentation for women who traveled solo. Both Lyn and I came away after 45 minute with nothing new in the way of ideas but the mix of audience was interested. An several of the individuals who got up to speak to safely or to comment on the idea of "fear" were inspiring. One woman spoke of stealth camping in Hawaii in a rental car. Another individual spoke of traveling solo through out the world. So there were moments that light up the imagination of the possibles.

Mickie, be gentle on your body as you get moved into your new digs.

Everyone find yourselves a good day.

That RTR sounds interesting! I have never heard of that before. Will have to check it out next time.

Just relaxing this morning. Off to work later on but have tomorrow off. Will get pics posted then, hopefully.

Have a good day! :D

There are literally dozens of videos posted on YouTube of the RTR. Both pro and con.

Bob Wells is the organizer. Do a YouTube search on his name.

Tina, you found a memorial for the Camel Corps! I didn't know there was one, even though the project surely deserved it. I'm told there are also cowboy ballads about meeting a stray camel. Maybe I can find the lyrics some day.

For the third time this winter, I forgot to add water to my fresh water tank during daylight hours and when it was NOT raining. Course, not raining is hard to find around here.

So, last night around 9 p.m. when I was thinking about washing dishes and taking my shower early, I realized I had very little water in my tank. I usually use my tanks instead of the city water hookup because I have this weird thing with this RV with my water pump losing its prime if I don't use it every day. Also, because of the freezing temps occasionally at night, I would not want to leave a hose hooked up all the time anyway.

After much pondering, I put on my heavy coat, grabbed a flashlight, and went out in the rain and cold (45 degrees) to hook up my hose and fill my tank in the dark. I will try to remember to do this in the daytime in the future. :D Going to need to unhook and go out for a propane refill in a couple of days, but hoping I can wait for a partly-sunny day.

Mickie and Mary, yay, finally! Sorry I won't be seeing you this winter but maybe next one.

And yay here... Some of us were just sitting outside and we had a new arrival. Sandy is here. :)

There’s a break in my shower remodel while we wait for fixtures to arrive and the glass door and wall to be made. I had originally been told it would only take a few days for the glass. Yesterday I was told it would be a week to a week and a half :o. The fixtures are taking longer because the manufacturer was closed for two weeks over the holidays. So hearing all that, I threw the dogs and what else I could gather into the RV and we took off. Arrived in Q today to beautiful weather, about 68 degrees, and all my forum friends. So glad it worked out and I can be here.

Sandy, so glad you were able to make it to Q. Too bad we missed each other tho. :(

To the rest of the Q gals, here is the reason I disappeared from Sheila's rig the first night for a bit...

Beautiful pictures Barbie. You are a talented photographer. I also really liked the ones you posted recently taken at the beach. You have a good eye for interesting closeups rather than just the big picture. Maybe you should explore how to go about copywriting and selling some of your photos.

Those really are beautiful shots, Barbie. I knew what you went outside for... Glad to have your pictures to enjoy.

And, Sandi, glad you surprised us today. I love happy surprises.
