Snowy Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy Friday

Postby Othersharon » Fri Jan 18, 2019 10:46 am

Good morning. Got a bit of snow last night and I need to get out and shovel it. Not enough for the snowblower! But the forecast for tomorrow afternoon into Sunday is, according to the local tv station, that we’ In the 12”-18” range. Plus then the wind and very low temps come into play. So it’s going to be a nasty couple of days. Got all my running done yesterday so car’s in the garage and snowblower is ready to go. I wanted to get to play with my new toy but this is going to be a bit much!! So it goes. Nothing I can do but go with it!
Carol, beeen following your situation with Bill. Glad you were where he could get good care. And that he’s on the mend.
Been enjoying hearing about the adventures at Q. Sounds like a good time.
Time for me to get out and do some shoveling. Have a great day!

You can share pictures and I'll Oooh and Ahh and be so happy to be here in Arizona. A friend of mine shared this picture at her home in Durango, CO. The dog wants to know how to get into his woods, lol

I had a hair analysis test to check on possibly allergies I didn't know about and am being told I'm gluten intolerant. My "healthy" eating habits of a few years ago had almost no gluten in it. As I replace foods I'm going to try to get back into that habit. I also lost weight and felt my best... No good excuses for eating "un"healthy... Just laziness.

I didn't know you could get your hair tested for allergies. Where did you get that done? I am taking amoxicillin for a possible tooth abscess and I have had headaches off and on all week. It has to be the amoxicillin because I'm not doing or eating anything else that is different.

I got my motorhome back this afternoon. I'm glad I couldn't get an appointment until this week because they just got a new machine that pressurizes your RV to show leaks. Who ever installed the satellite dome didn't seal the holes they made.

Enjoying the pictures and stories from Q. Wish I could have gone.

I think it's a scam... But what the heck lol I'll probably do real allergy tests this summer.

They can tell if you are being poisoned by testing your hair. I doubt they were testing for poison. lol

Hair is actually a good reflection of what is going on in your body. If I see customers who are complaining that their hair has changed a lot for some unknown reason (no chemicals, dyes, etc, put on), I suggest they see their doctor to find out what might be causing it.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

What Barbie suggests. I know that the condition of hair is something that we watch closely in our dogs. It is definitely connected to what we feed our animals.

I personally would save my money as far as hair testing, this was really popular several years ago but even at the time there was a lot of controversy. Here are a couple of links to current opinions. I do think visible condition of hair is an indicator of something amiss i the body.

Furthermore, normal ranges of minerals in hair have not been defined, and no correlation has been established between levels in hair and other indicators of nutritional status. The concentration of a mineral in your hair could be high even though you may actually be deficient in it. Or vice versa.

Finally, there are no standards for hair analysis of mineral status, which means that it’s likely you could get different results if you sent hair samples from the same person, taken at the same time, to more than one laboratory.

I would be suspicious of any nutritional deficiency or disease diagnosed via this method alone. If you suspect that you might be deficient in some vitamin or mineral, check with your physician. A blood test can set your mind at ease or demonstrate any need to increase your intake of specific micronutrients.

I'm glad for the lively discussion about hair. I sent mine in mainly for fun and figured, even with their 100% guarantee I'd probably not see money back. Surprise, when I emailed for a refund yesterday, the money was refunded this morning.
