Early Tuesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Early Tuesday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Tue Jan 15, 2019 7:35 am

Good Morning all. Was great seeing so many posts the other day. Even from some who have been AWOL. Glad you are all doing well. Catherine, that scavenger hunt sounded like so much fun. At least you have a few months to plan a summer one

I’m up at O’dark thirty here this morning. Woke up all bright eyed and bushy tailed a bit before 6, so decided to get up. Have my bi yearly mammo later this morning. Just finished having a protein shake and threw a load of laundry in the dryer. My washer and dryer are off my kitchen and were off my bedroom in my last house, so got into a habit of throwing a load of laundry into the washer on my way to the kitchen in the morning. May as well let it wash while doing breakfast. Kill two birds with one stone and free up day for other things. Like going to get a mammo,

Anne, you asked about snow here. Tbere’s Roughly 10 inches out there give or take. Way below where It usually is this time of year. With the mild winter we have been having, it’s been more rain/snow, freezing rain, sleet and above freezing temps than anything. Lake effect which is mostly our primary source of snow has been conspicuously absent due to lack of northerly flow cold fronts. But an Arctic air mass is coming and it might turn on the big lake snow machine. The wind direction determines where the bands go. A northwest/west wind will bring it this way, with a wext wind bringing the most. But a north wind will send it down the lakeshore counties and we can have sunshine.

Made another set of reservations for camping yesterday now that the Friends Group at one of my favorite parks released the events schedule for summer. The musician/singer/songwriter we heard last year will be there weekend after the 4th of July weekend, so grabbed a site for that. Will be making more as the window opens and there are more concerts and other things coming up.

Well, time to go finish up breakfast and later hop in shower, wash hair and head up to hospital for the “routine”. Couple errands after as ran out of screws for my project yesterday. Can’t have that  Have a great day all.

Morning Sue!

We got about 8” in that last snowfall, pretty rare down here, we normally get 3-5 inches followed by arctic cold.

Finally got the approval for our new apartment, we’ll get moved before the end of the month. Also have that endocrinology appointment today, not sure what a “fine needle aspiration” involves but I’m going to guess not super pleasant.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning gals!

Am just finishing up packing and will head out soon for Q. Checked the radar and looks like I will be driving in rain all the way north to the I-10. Not fun, but will get off the freeway about 30 miles north of here and get on the smaller roads for awhile.

Should arrive in Q around 2pm depending on weather, traffic, etc.

Have a great day!

Sue, you might need to slow down when you read those morning posts. I think you are confusing Catherine's post of appreciation for the scavenger hunt success with the author of the event, Pat and her friend. I like the idea JudyJB brought up of who has to create the next years. Oh and the suggestion of not having activities that require one to stop near prisons..... We learn so much on this forum.

Lark and Audrey and I made it to Q late yesterday afternoon, in time for the dogs to get dinner and a walk in before it started raining about 6pm.
Beth and Sheila have warmed up the temperatures and Peggy says the rain is suppose to stop by tomorrow. The dogs are not so patiently waiting for the next slow down in the drops to make another run outside. This may be a read under a blanket day!

Tina

Barbie, I just saw your post. Where will you be staying? And bring your boots for the puddles.

I'm preparing to walk Ty shortly, whatever the rain is doing. Then I'm going to tackle replacing my CO2/l.p. Detector. Hopefully I just take the old off, paying attn to the connectors, and put the new on. I like easy in these things. My weather apps say we could see sunshine very briefly shortly before sunset. We shall see.

Mornin' ladies~
I'm still in Apache Junction & won't be near Q area until Sunday. Was supposed to go hiking today with my friend from high school, but because of the threat of rain, we are hoping tomorrow instead. I may just go for a drive today to look for another trailhead, or wander around here just to get out for a bit even tho I saw most of it last year. Weather is still jeans & sweatshirt weather. Much cooler than last year.

Glad you made it to Q safely Tina. Drive safely Barbie. That's all from me. Have a good day everyone.

I wasn't successful changing the detector. :o the ends weren't crimped as I expected but some hard plastic that won't come off. I tried using scissors to no avail. Probably will need at least my box cutter which is currently in hiding. Old back on and I'm cussing whoever made what should have been a 5 minute (or less) job frustrating. Oh well. Another day.

Rain has stopped, at least for now. Maybe it's over. Puddles everywhere.

Beth, I know your frustration with the CO2 detector. I thought I could change mine too. The old one had 3 wires and the new one had 2. And on top of the wire problem the front plate was the right size but the part that went in the wall was wider. I had to get the RV place to change it for me.

I got Sweetie Pie to the vet this morning. I hate having to set an alarm to get up. Her leg still isn't healed enough to take out the pin or rod or whatever they want to take out. Said to wait another month. That suits me fine. I have other things I would rather do than drive a cat 100 miles one way to the vet. Thank goodness I can get her x-rayed here.

A woman called me this morning all excited about coming to see my motorhome that I have for sale. She hasn't called or shown up yet. At least people wanting to look at it has made me clean it up. It needs another bath but think I'll wait until it's in the 70's again. I think it's suppose to be 70 on Thursday and then on Sunday night get down to 25. I hate when it freezes.

Hope the rain stops for you all.

I just arrived in Q a little while ago. Most of the way out here was just little spritzes of drops until I got around 30 miles from here and then I hit very heavy rain! I shared the road with mostly semis and RV's so was slow going. The sun is peaking thru now.

So I am checked into my motel room (The Quartzsite Yacht Club! ) in the SS Minnow themed room. :D It is cute and cozy!

Will relax here a bit and then head over to Sheila and the gang before dark, so I can find it easier.
