Good Morning. The holidays are over, now it’s back to normal routines if there is such a thing. And today the New Year really begins. Yesterday was just a preliminary beginning, but today we start out fresh. Today we have a clean slate to fill.
I had quite a New Years Eve and A busy New Years Day. As you saw by my pictures I posted yesterday, Mom Nature gave us a much overdue dump of the white stuff and turned us into a Winter Wonderland. One New Years Eve, my neighbors flew home from TX holidays with family and arrived at the airport in late afternoon, right when the storm was getting it’s act together. Grabbed a bite to eat, fast stop at a store for groceries and a long 50 miles horrible drive home in the storm only to find no power to their house, food in freezer all spoiled and house at 55 degrees. That being my old house, there is a gas stove in living room which they turned on so had back up heat for most part. Called power company. I offered to put them up for the night if needed and whatever else they needed. So the wait began. We kept in touch as they didn’t want to leave house and miss power company, the which of said they should be there around 10:30 p.m. I stayed up here till 11:30 before going to bed and power company didn’t get to them till 12:30 a.m. Issue was at pole, power back at 12:45. Certainly a different New Years Eve for sure. Then of course it was up a few hours later and 9 inches of white stuff out there. Breakfast, few posts on the IPad and then out withbthe camera, then the blower, up to town for late lunch/early dinner and then home for a dog walk. Our road crews stayed on the snow all night and even had my road plowed by 10 yesterday morning, So was business as usual up here. Snowmobiles were estactic and wasted no time in getting out there and I know the business people were very happy as were those longing for snow.
Today will be much more normal here as going to clean house a bit and head back to my basement project. I see a snow storm is headed to AZ and NM. Stay safe and warm, thosecof you out there. Tina, are you sure you don’t want to reverse direction You gals along west coast are having your share of cold too, keep warm.
Lyn, I sent you a PM.
Enough jabbering here, time to get busy.
