My scooter has a new home. Last Sat I took a deposit based on the battery replacement starting him right back up. Battery I ordered arrived today and the couple came over and we traded them out and he started up so easily. I think he probably has needed a new battery for awhile. :? It was bittersweet to see him leave but I'm comfortable with the decision.

Tomorrow I'm going to a luncheon for the veterans here in the park. Free to the Veterans... $8 for us non-veterans. I'm also going to look into volunteering for the park library. I'm hoping they'll be okay with my only being here occasionally. But that's a perfect volunteer position for me.

We have a Veterans Day breakfast here tomorrow. My roommate and I are planning to go to that. Only $3 for all you can eat.

I work Sunday which will be super busy because we are doing free haircuts for vets that day. All Great Clips do that on Veterans Day each year.

Beth, that would be fun to volunteer at the library. Hope you get to do that for the winter.

Had a great time in the desert. Brought some friends with and come to find out one knows Kerry and Sharon, small world. Friend Marty tried out his teardrop on the boondocking thing, he liked the concept. Had only one day without wind. Hard to drive home but wind was off n on and soon as I got into town it was nearly gone. Work tomorrow and next visit to the desert is late december.

Sheila, Normal blood counts are
Hemoglobin 12-16
Hematocrit 37-48

both these can vary a little for men and women but pretty much this is a guideline.

I'm back in Benson. I stopped at the grocery store and my fridge is loaded. Problem is freezer space. I'll have to reorganize because I need to cook and portion out for the freezer. Then I got my window ding fixed.

I've also changed plans once again. I was going to leave next Sun or Mon but I looked up when we're having the Christmas auction and it's 12/6. It's so much fun, so I'll stay until after that. Tomorrow I'm going to see about signing up to volunteer at it. I can't think of anything I have to contribute to the auction this year.

Thought I'd bring up the campfire before it got too low. The weather has been cool, only one day I had to wear a real jacket. A few sprinkles a couple times but even that was only sweatshirt weather. This working thing is really taking up a lot of my time!! But a couple weeks off here at Christmas and new years will really be appreciated. My cousin called today, she's waiting to get out of San Francisco and head this way with her casita. But her dad is not well so she's kind of holding off. Will be good to see her again. She wants to hang with me in quartzsite and figure out the boondocking thing with her casita and know where her limits are with battery, etc.
Monday I have a Dr appt and will most likely be put on blood pressure meds, its running 195 to 200 lately. Wednesday at my dot physical I found out I had high blood pressure, it was 168 then. Changing some habits of course so that part will be hard. Two days now with no cookies in the house!! This is a bad time of year to turn down the treats, next week is treat week at work, everyday there will be different yummies.
I continue to do little modifications in the motorhome. Loving my two shelves I put in in the kitchen so don't have to stow things each time I move the mh. Still need to finish the shelves in the bathroom. One down, one partially done and one in the works. Then I have two in the works for the bedroom.
That's about it in my world right now.

Ava, good luck with cutting down the treats issue. I don't know if it helps or not but over the years, especially recently, I have found it is just easier to avoid treats to start with. Once I get over the hook of the initial sugar addiction, the sweet stuff doesn't seem to call to me as strongly or even taste as well as I remembered it when a allow myself I little taste for memory sake. I think of it as a life change rather than some sort of diet....... Then I work on concentrating how much better my body "feels" when I eat better stuff and in my case less "stuff."

In short, there really isn't a good reason to over eat or eat "stuff" just because it is offered. There are 365 days in the year and as I like to think, there is always something to celebrate if we look hard enough at the world around us.

I will be thinking of you. Get those numbers down, woman. We want you around for a long, long time. You worked to hard to get this far and not be able to enjoy it!

Sweets in moderation are not bad. Cholesterol comes from animal products. Go vegan ROFL

I don't know what my cholesterol is because the last 2 blood tests I just got the "in normal range" results instead of numbers. Guess I will have to give blood, they tell you what your numbers are. The last time I gave blood they said I was too anemic and took me off their call list. I go to the doctor to get checked and they say I'm fine.

for several years I "donated" plasma in SLC. After we retired I didn't do either until I started staying in Tetonia for the summer's and would donated blood and the winter I lived in Ogden I donated there...the last time I donated or tried to in Utah they rejected me.... due to the scar from the plasma donations says it's hard to clean the area as they were tisking but I get e-mails reminding me to donate but keep missing the one in Idaho to see if they are as picky as Utah is ...
we got a lot of rain the other night rained most of the night into the morning till around 10 the wash ran and washed out but they have fixed it...actually better than it has been for a couple of years.. decided to move my bird feeders today and the shepherd's hooks went in so easy.... must have been all that rain...
still don't have my Christmas decoration's up I think I will do it on some day and something comes up ...if I don't hurry up it won't be an issue

Martha ask for a copy of your lab work. If they refuse, get a new Dr! Also, ask the lab if they have an online portal where you can view results. After Dr reads them, they become available to you to view.

I tried to get a new doctor and no one wants medicare. I can view the lab report on line and there are no numbers. Just the in normal range. There are only 2 doctors left in the office I started with over 40 years ago. Two retired and one died. I will just have to hope they out live me. lol

Stoking the coals here,,,,,
Finally have the fifthwheel in its new home. Need to replace the 30 amp plug and then I can open the slide. Feels like it was a long day, but so worth taking the day off just because I had a good excuse and I took advantage of it. I will certainly sleep good tonight.
