Rainy Foggy Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Foggy Sunday

Good Morning,
Coffee is still hot. What can I say it’s Sunday and I am moving slow. Had to turn on the tree lights to brighten this gloomy house. Was waken by the sound of a boat motor in neighbors yard. We have had so much rain I think he is preparing for an emergence get away. Will putter in the house today. Safe travels.

It was a fabulous day in Tombstone yesterday. We did touristy but we also did more of the history. Both of us went some places we had never been. I can't believe I'd never gone to the offices of the newspaper. Wow... Loved it and am now looking for more info/books on the man who started it. Hers me in front of probably the number one tourist attraction. (I hadn't gone since maybe the 1980's and ginger never had! Sometimes touristy is fun and it was definitely that. Plus if they had the room from the area photographer on those days when I went before, I missed it. Wow! Not be missed.

Morning all!

Beth - fascinating historical fiction, written by a writer with a PhD in anthropology, “Doc” by Mary Doria Russell, can’t recommend it highly enough.

Good morning gals...

I woke up to what sounded like something big walking around on my roof. :o I don't hear it now tho. Last night I found evidence of mice in my kitchen so now I need to do something about that. The rain is probably driving them inside. Always something!

Last night I saw an ambulance pull up across the street. I went over to investigate. My neighbor is an older single man who I have talked to many times and he recently was in the hospital for surgery and other issues. Well, I guess some friends from church were not able to get ahold of him for a couple days so they came by to check on him. They ended up, with the help of the neighbor on the other side, crawling in thru a window and found him semi-conscious on the floor next to his bed. They called 911 right away.
My roommate has gotten to know him pretty well (they both are really into plants) and has been watering all of his plants for him since he has been too weak to do so since his surgery. He has lost a ton of weight and I know hasn't been eating much. I hope he will be OK. There have been 3 people in the park who have passed away just recently.

I work later this afternoon. It is my one-year anniversary in this shop. There is a Winterfest going on in town today so it will be quiet in the shop.

(I am thinking the noise I am hearing is actually Camp Pendleton setting off morters, because the house is shaking too, and unless there is an elephant on the roof, that is probably what it is).

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning. Chilly but no rain this morning which I am sure disappointed the weathermen. They were all doom and gloom yesterday with snow falling in the higher elevations. We just got rain no biggee. Supposed to get very cold tomorrow 19° overnight BUT we shall see. I have learned not to get too excited. It is going to be a rather chilly week here tho.

Not much on my agenda today just some housekeeping duties not sure what else yet.

Barbie, ambulances and rescue units are very frequent when you live in a 55+ park. We kid around here that we live in "God's Waiting Room".

I might make Pecan Passies today as I have all the ingredients. Will share with my neighbors of course.

I got another ten hours of sleep last night, so I am just having breakfast at noon. Made some crepes and put some of my homemade bkackberry syrup/preserves and whipping cream. Yum.

Still taking a few pain meds once in a while--they sure help you sleep at night!! And it was too cold to take a shower last night, so just took one before breakfast. Felt good to get clean. Now I need to go out and pull handles to dump my tanks and then add some fresh water to fresh tank, plus take trash out. Going to move slowly, however.

What are pecan passies? Sound good as long as they have pecans in them.

I forgot to say Rabbits because I was having too much fun at the campout. Thursday I was sneezing during the day and Thursday night my nose was running like a faucet. I thought sure I was coming down with a cold. The only medicine I could find in the camper was some sinus pills so took one of them. Friday morning I woke up feeling fine. Something must have set my sinus off. Thursday, Friday and part of Saturday it was rainy and the wind was blowing hard. It finally cleared up Saturday afternoon and my sister and I fished a while. Today the weather is beautiful and 84. It always clears up when we have to come home. At this campout last year it snowed. That's Louisiana weather for you. We had 25 women at the campout and way too many cakes, cookies and pies. I sent my left overs home with my sister.

I got home a couple of hours ago. It's nice to have short trips. I got the refrigerator cleaned out but the dirty clothes might have to wait until tomorrow. We don't have any trips scheduled until about the middle of January. I doubt I will go anywhere for Christmas. If the weather would stay this nice I would like to go to the lake again but I'm sure there is a cold front on the way.
