It’s Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Saturday

Postby Othersharon » Sat Nov 17, 2018 9:04 am

Good morning everyone. I’ve been up for awhile and working on my second cup of coffee. Lots to do today. It’ll be a run around day. Ug, not thrilled about having to do any shopping on a Saturday but it is what it is. Sue, guess I’m going to join you with a new snowblower. Mine started up just fine yesterday but while I was just starting on the front driveway it made a sound and just quit. So I got it back to the garage and plugged it in and it just made a steady whirling sound and wouldn’t engage. So out came the shovel! Luckily my nice neighbor was home and he did my front sidewalk which is my main concern. Don’t need a fine for not having it done! So it took me all day to shovel the wet, deep snow off the drive. Took it slow and easy. In between I communicated with DS and friend and the consensus is that the motor seized up. Their first question was did it have oil and that was a yes. So the old thing just gave up, I guess. Not thrilled about having to get a new one but also know my body can’t take much more of what I did yesterday! I didn’t even try to shovel the pile at the end of the driveway that the snowplow leaves. Hopefully my car can go up and over! And on top of that, my old boots started to fall apart! So into the trash they went. And they were good boots that have served me well! Gotta say, I was happy to go to bed and put the day behind me! Still considering hibernation! Never a dull moment around here.
On a more serious note I’ve been following your posts, Anne. I can’t imagine what you all are dealing with out there. Glad you found your air purifier and that it’s helping. Hugs to you and your pup. So that’s it for me today. I need to get dressed and out the door. Need to stop at Petco for a bag of dog food and then a couple of other stops. They actually called off classes at the university for a second day yesterday so maybe the town has cleared out a bit since students are off all next week. That’s almost a record, they seldom close the campus for one day much less two! So wishing everyone a great weekend. Travel safe and have some fun!

Good morning ladies
Up early as usual, working on my to do list. I will be really busy with a lot of little things but I try to cram as much in on Saturday so I can enjoy Sunday as a do nothing day. Want to put the rail on my bathroom shelf I put in so I won't have to pack up the bathroom each time. I really like the two I put in the kitchen. Makes it so much easier to turn the key and go.
Monday night is our annual evening of Zoolights with grandson, I really enjoy that tradition daughter started with Jack 4 years ago.
Tuesday is our turkey potluck at work, I'm signed up to do the green bean dish, that one with the crunchy dried onion topping.
Were off 3 days but of course Thanksgiving with family so won't have time to go anywhere long enough to justify the gas.
Supposed to go check out a mhp nearby, actually in mesa that several of us neighbors are considering for relocation. Rents cheaper but no pool, it is however a senior community. Could mean the difference in buying my jeep or keeping the car.
My little girls continue to make me smile everyday I come home they are both in the window watching and get so excited to see my car pull in. Little Abby actually does zoomies in the yard when we go out.
Nothing else is new here, y'all have a good day.
Edit to add, my poor neighbor that is here from Salome for husbands cancer treatment, she fell and broke both hips and is in the hospital so now the poor guy is managing everything by himself. Couple neighbors are watching out and the two dogs popped the door open yesterday and got out. Had to put them back in. One stayed in the driveway and one took a stroll.

Good Morning All, the snow storm came and disappeared by the next morning. My kind of storm. Going to try baking no knead bread this weekend. A 7 yr old boys birthday party is on the schedule for today. I’m still shredding paper. Prayers for California. Safe travels

Mornin' ladies & all who follow~~~

Sharon I feel your pain on shoveling the driveway. I swear when I had my house the plow guy used to wait until everything was shoveled & clean, and THEN he'd plow me in. And that snow was always so heavy!

Alice sure hope you find a new park to your liking soon. Kind of stressful being forced to move.

Have fun at the birthday party Shirl.

Not much happening today other than laundry & thinking it was Sunday. Ahhhhhh, retirement!

Have a good day ladies & stay safe wherever you are.

Errand day at my house today. Had to go over to my storage unit and take a couple tubs of unused stuff right now and retrieve my heated hose to loan to my bff. Then dropped off several bags of clothes at the donation center that I will never get my fat self into again. Have kept them for quite a while thinking it would happen but nah. Time to cut that thought from my head. Then on to the computer shop to retrieve my laptop that was having an issue. Stopped at Black Rock Espresso for a much needed blended Mocha LOL Stopped at the grocery store on my way home............OMG I know there is a reason I never shop on the weekend and of course everyone is in the Thanksgiving shopping mode. Felt like I need a tshirt saying "I survived Winco shopping." Nowhere I need to go now until after TGiving weekend. Not even thinking of venturing out on Black Friday.....oh heck no. Chilly start to my morning but sun is out now 61° nice.

Got three loads of laundry done today, but did not appreciate that someone washed dog blankets in the washers! It was obviously a long-haired dog or dogs of some sort. (Should have collected some DNA samples.) Lady who came in before me did a very good job of wiping everything out, but i was glad her clothes had to go in before mine. A couple of months ago when I was on the coast, I had problems with someone washing sandy clothing and not cleaning up after themselves. It was like they had taken a car full of sandy kids directly from the beach and stripped their clothes off right at the laundry! You could not see it in the washers because the sand was black and the inside of the tub was black also. I had to put everything through twice to get rid of the sand! Using laundromats is one of the few things I dislike about my lifestyle. :x

It was sunny today and a bit warmer, which was nice for a change. While this part of Oregon is relatively mild, it is damp and chilly even without rain. I have lots of work to do to keep me busy, so can just huddle inside for a few weeks.

I made an appt to get my eyes checked on Monday and then a urology appt on Wednesday, and pick up some turkey thighs, and I am good for the week. Got almost all my Christmas shopping done other than a couple of things I will order online for my kids. Do NOT want to hit the malls unless I absolutely am desperate!!
