Wednesday Once Again

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday Once Again

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Nov 14, 2018 7:27 am

Up early to head up the highway and help set up the reserved grooming space for the the English Cocker exhibitors coming to the Columbus shows. We have as many as 40 dogs coming in for Saturday's Specialties. That is pretty good for our breed these days. It isn't like the Goldens or the Dobe folks can bring together but then ECS aren't as popular.

I may seem very busy but just remember that I learned that my tentency is to be a hermit slug and I know that isn't healthy for my body or my mind. I will move for the dogs, for house work, not so much!

I'm off in the dark morning heading north!

Like Tina I am up early but. I have no plans to go out until afternoon. It is cold and gloomy here and forecast is for snow and maybe a little ice. DH has gone to take Emma to school, ha to bad they don't have a doggy bus. Wasn't it Alice in FL who said a doggy day care bus came to her neighborhood to pick up dogs? She said some would just run out and jump in. Since Emma is the only dog that goes for the whole day we just have to provide her own transportation. She has done really well and DH and the trainer now have the Purina National Obedience trial as their goal. I think that might be like Graduate School    I'm just glad DH has found something that he enjoys besides sitting at his desk painting. I need to add a few new activities to get me out and about teaching my yoga class doesn't take that much time.
I had to look through my recipes to find the cheese cake recipe I posted yesterday and now I'm wanting cheese cake and a lot of the other dessert recipes I found.

I know BJ, the more we talk about cake the more I want some. The second dinner at the campout they served a big piece of chocolate cake. I had to sit there and look at it for several hours but I didn't eat it. I'm usually not too bad about eating sweets, it's more salty things like chips. The only time I buy chips is when I go camping.

It's gray and overcast today. It was 40 last night and it's only up to 41 now. It's suppose to freeze tonight so I need to move all the plants into the old house. I don't know if they will survive with the little sun they will get in there.

All the dog activities sounds like having kids again. I know my cats keep me busy and I don't show them. I can just see the mean eyes CC would give me if I tried to make him do something. Sometimes I call him the squinty eyed devil. He has a certain cry he makes when he wants out. It's like he is demanding I come let him out.

Martha, I really don't think I could not eat a piece of chocolate cake in front of me. Cheese cake possibly.

Windy here in Arizona. This makes it cold. I had an eye appt this morning but while they said the gusts were 31/35 mph it felt while walking Ty that it was all gusts. So I called and rescheduled for tomorrow morning. (Tried for this afternoon as it's supposed to be better about 2 or so, but no go...) Meantime I'm running my furnace a lot. Will read a book.

Although I was up early this morning and headed out to work, I decided to turn around and come back home because I felt lousy. Had already been in traffic 45 minutes and not even half way there. Traffic is just horrendous these days with every road I drive under construction. Can't figure out how the officials came up with funds for all these projects which are scheduled to take years to complete.

It is now early afternoon and I decided to write a post after checking the Forum. This is my first post in a very long time, more than a year. I even had to search for my password because I could not figure it out.

Interesting to read what everyone has been posting. I've been following the postings on the California fires and how close it is to Anne. Sure hope the fires are contained soon, and Anne and everyone stays safe.

Update on my end is we sold the little TT and bought a 32 ft. Class C over a year ago. It really was a surprise how much easier it is to drive the Class C, even pulling a toad. Have dealt with some health issues this year, but hopefully things are settling down now. My car was rear ended by a speeding Harley earlier this year. Then, tripped on a campsite this summer and tore ligaments and fractured my foot. It still hurts, but the boot is finally off and getting better every day. The good news is I am able to go camping again. Spent a week in late October checking out state parks near Sarasota and planning a couple of short trips that will be fun. That's about all the news for me.

Slept in this morning. Looks like another windy day here.

One of our caterpillars is getting ready to make a chrysalis. The other chrysalis is still green but should start getting ready to hatch any day now.

Good to see you Linann! Try not to stay away so long this time :) And some days are just meant to stay home.

Barbie, beautiful pictures.

Great to hear from you Linann. Not great to hear of your injuries but wonderful to know that you have persisted! Yes, Class C are driver friendly! I also appreciate the overall ease of set up.

Question, BJ, does Emma have the Orlando goal on her schedule for this year? :) I hear there are other wonderful people planning to show up down there, just saying! At the show this past weekend I was set up next to standard poodles both days. Thought of Miss Emma.

Thank goodness this day is finally over. Busy day for me today. Took Emma to the groomers, then played Mexican train with the neighbors, Internet tech came at 2:30 to fix my dang internet. I had to figure out how to change it in Netflix and Amazon video. Netflix wasnt easy LOL Now all fixed. BUT I have a new router and modem and had to figure out how to change the wifi settings on my 4 smart tv's, Alexa, all the bulbs and plugs connected to her. You have to do each bulb and each plug separately. Finally after much internet searching and trial and error I think I am now in good shape. I can now turn my lights, tv, kitchen plugs and most importantly my electric blanket on and off. LOL

Tomorrow going to the Salvation Army with another couple bags of clothes and things I dont need but think there will be a great need in Paradise and Malibu eventually. I just need them to be gone. Need to go over and start the motorhome make sure all is well. Have to take it to get winterized next week then tucked away for a bit.

Just have a couple more bushes to cut back for winter. Got my outside faucets all winterized and insulated last week so think I am pretty ready for winter.
