It’s Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Sunday

Good Morning to All from Mazatlan, MX It is HOT and Humid here - another couple of weeks and the humidity will drop some. Actually the temp will be only 85 but 70% humidity. That just wipes me out. We've are on our third day here. Had a bunch of laughs yesterday afternoon. Bill bought and brought a tent shelter for his baby the Jeep. Ended up half the campground was here helping put it up. Every one was laughing and having fun. At least we bring entertainment with us. The Jeep is sulking and not running well so waiting for mechanic on Monday. So guess today we'll take a taxi to market and back. Been writing about the trip including the Circus tent episode in the blog.
Hope they get those fires in CA under control soon. I remember the winds when we lived there.
You all in the snow keep warm and those traveling away from the snow drive safe.

Good morning, and happy Veterans Day!

I work later today and it will be very busy. Great Clips does free haircuts for all active military and vets on Veterans Day so we will have a lot of them coming in today.

Chilly in the house this morning. My roommate likes it that way but I freeze easily. Will warm up soon outside with the sun shining tho.

Our little caterpillars outside have been disappearing. Something must be going after them. We did find another one tho this morning so he is safely in my new enclosure with two others. The chrysalis is still green so will be a bit longer for that one to emerge. I was told that they slow down quite a bit when it is colder so it takes longer for things to happen.

Both kitties are demanding my attention this morning. Haven't seen any fleas for awhile so maybe the colder nights have done them in. I have been keeping the cats out on the porch at night since I haven't wanted them in my bedroom with the fleas, and if I keep my bedroom door closed they sit outside the door and cry. I am sure my roommate would not like that too much, so that is why they spend the night out on the porch. I close the windows out there so it doesn't get too cold for them. Once I am totally sure the fleas are gone, I will let them come into my room at night. (and then listen to them fight on the bed all night  )

Hope you all enjoy your day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Still in Eugene, trying to keep warm. Got my second little electric heater out and had both running all night, but still had to run the furnaces a bit. It's noon right now and temp is still only 39, but the sun does help, and it is supposed to make 56 today. Going to try to put film on one more window today, but my muscle spasm in my left back keeps kicking in whenever I stretch, so got to be careful.

Made some blueberry pancakes this morning, except I dumped the frozen little wild berries directly into the raw pancake mix and it made blue pancake. I have extras for tomorrow, which will be nice. They were really good with real maple syrup!

I don't know why, but i keep getting air quality warnings for this area on my cell phone weather program. Need to check if there are fires north of here blowing smoke down. Too far away from Camp FIre.

Back to watching PBS's An American in Paris!

Late in the day here but Lark wanted folks to know that she now has a new UKC Rally Level 1 Title (the beginning level) All her scores were above 90/100 and in the final trial today her score earned her a Third Place. Rally O is a performance event were the handler and dog team move through a series of signs and at each one performs the movements required. There is a limited set of signs but they can be placed in many different arrangement, making each trail course different. Dogs get points off if for example they sit to far out of heel position. Handlers can lose points for a team by walking past a sigh and not noticing it, or asking the dog to complete the exercise incorrectly. A few times I lost more points than Lark did but considering I hadn't been in a performance ring for over ten years and Lark has only been working on specific performance exercises for about 2 months. We did well...but then she is a Golden Retriever. Audrey will get there but it takes a little longer to convince an English Cocker this could be fun!

Audrey spent her time this weekend over showing in the conformation side of the show in the Altered classes which she is now eligible. The entries are much smaller in the UKC Altered classes but she did pull out three Best in Shows and had two of the four judges directly asking me in a most puzzled manner, "And explain to me why she is altered." When I explained she was 5.5 years old and had accomplished everything I wanted her to do across two venues (Meaning Grand Champion status in both AKC and UKC) and thought she might just like to retire and work on some performance titles. They just smiled and told me how nice and balanced and proportioned she was. After the judging was over I also added that I had a 3.5 year old ECS special that I was specialing. Then they really understood. There are really nice dogs and then there are really "special" dogs that you keep campaigning.

Josef had to sit in this crate most of the day and watch it not be about him. He at least got to tag along. Which is more than the girls will get to do when he and I head off to the Columbus shows on Wednesday.

Yes it is getting cold. Yes I want to spend the winter someplace warmer. But until I can run away I'll just keep staying warm. I am looking forward to our days in Orlando in December. I remember driving down last year through the blowing snows in West Virginia, spent the night just south of Charlotte and then made Orlando the next afternoon and suddenly it wasn't winter anymore. (I also remember looking up a car wash that first afternoon so that we could rinse the salt and grime off the van which had taking on the I've been driving through a snow storm appearance.

Tina, congratulations to you and Lark.

It got down to 32 Friday night and my heater ran all night. It's suppose to freeze here Wednesday night. I have another campout this weekend in Natchitoches. I haven't checked to see what the weather is going to be. I just hope it's not freezing.

I made it home this afternoon about 4:00. It was a long day. I like the shorter trips. I decided to caravan with the Louisiana women and I'm not a fan of caravanning. I want to be able to stop when I need to without everyone having to stop or having to wait until everyone stops.

The cats were happy to see me. CC and Annie went out and I just got them to come in. I'm sure CC was the usual brat all weekend. I have started leaving Frosty out when I leave because they are so hateful to him.
