Also, my Amazon Chase credit card where i earn points and had paid off completely so that I could charge my generator rebuild, has been cancelled because someone illegally charged something small in Louisiana a week ago! Had same problem with my credit union Visa card a couple of years ago, so it is really critical to have two credit cards, just in case. New card is being shipped to my Ohio address, so son will have to fed-ex it to me.
I wonder what is going on. I, too, had a fraudulent charge ($15!) on my Discover card yesterday. I received a text (I didn't even know that Discover would send texts in cases of a questionable charge - good to know!) asking if I had bought something online at "Forever 21" (LOL - forever 21 - I wish!!) and said "no", so they immediately cancelled my card. Time from fraudulent charge to card cancellation, only about 15 minutes!!
As it happens, I do have two credit cards, although I have been thinking of cancelling the second card, as I rarely use it. Now I am glad that I have it.
As you say, Judy, important to have two cards, "just in case".
Say, I might be interested in your proposed Bandon GTG. I had paid reservations for the GTG there last summer, but had to cancel due to being extremely ill due to the mosquito bite I got while in Yellowstone. Three trips to Urgent Care, two trips to the ER, saw a total of 4 different doctors. I don't remember ever being quite so ill. Down for the count for nearly 6 weeks. Ugh. The bills finally started arriving yesterday - thank heavens for Medicare and my supplemental insurance plan!
