Tempting Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tempting Tuesday

Postby asirimarco » Tue Oct 30, 2018 9:42 am

Good Morning to All from cloudy Amado, AZ - why tempting you wonder. Well I am tempted to just return home - Yesterday we got lost in Mexico - well not really lost but in an area there there was no one and where we'd never been. Writing about it in the blog. We had just gone a few miles into MX to get our paperwork done and coming back there was a big truck accident on the highway so we took a road we didn't know. Sure glad I had mapsme app on my phone and that the road we were on showed up. Ended coming back into the states through the town of Nogales through the border crossing we gone through in 1978. They still have the arch.
Then the Jeep started acting up. He is now at the mechanics. And we are still waiting for the new leveling jacks motor - supposed to come tomorrow.
At least the weather is nice and our Dish TV has been working for the last few days.
Some one once told me "If it can be fixed with money it isn't too bad." I guess if you think about it - at least we are healthy. And all of this is just annoying. Oh and on the way back we got in the wrong line at the US border. Told in no uncertain terms to stop car, shut off engine and stay there. Thank goodness I have patience and could keep Bill calm.
So today maybe I'll get my peaceful and quiet day. .
The blog is in my signature if you are curious.

Of course I had to go and read your blog before proceeding further. I agree that going with the flow helps keep your blood pressure under control. If it isn't loss of blood or oxygen or broken bones....it is an unfortunate aggravation but survivable with care and patience. Hope that repairs to vehicles and equipment go smoother from now on and you get happily further down the road in search of good adventures. (Your fan base is depending upon you but no pressure!)

Finished off my letter to send to the first vet that worked on Josef's foot with my concerns regarding his post surgical care. My over all opinion is that the senior vet, who was the reason I went with her practice for her expertise just wasn't paying attention on the lack of progress in Josef's healing and letting her less experienced associate take the lead until she paid attention too little too late. Josef lost some healing time but it appears that he is on a goo path. His foot is finally being kept bandaged and he is getting multiple laser treatments. He is still happily making bruises on my legs and bumping into everything and anything with his cone as if he didn't have a care in the world. But then I remember that he is a dog and besides thinking dinner might be late he really isn't worried about anything! Another reason to have dogs around us to balance out our world view.

Good morning gals! :D

Carol, I hope you have a better day today and going forward on your trip! "Murphy" must be following you!

Tina, I have seen inflatable "donuts" that you can put on a dog instead of the cone. Would that work for him? Less injury to you and damage to things in the house.

Cloudy and cool this morning but supposed to clear out and warm up as the Santa Ana winds start to move in later today. Hoping the tree doesn't blow down before tomorrow!

Gotta get a few things done around here before heading to work later this afternoon.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon. Not much going on here today Had lunch with JudyB yesterday and she is on her way to Eugene today. Went out to lunch today with another neighbor....she was hungry LOL So today is pretty well shot. I play Mexican train tomorrow so will head to the store fairly early tomorrow then I wont have to go anywhere for a few days and can get a few things accomplished.

Tina glad Josef is healing well. He should be right as rain soon now that he is on the right healing path.

Hoping Barbie gets her tree taken care of soon. Was cold, cloudy this morning but when we came out after lunch the sun was out and it was warming up to a balmy 61° lol

Following Bill and Carols episodes LOL

I don't do any thing for a month and then do everything in one day. I wanted to go get 2 tires on the old motorhome so took it out early and washed it. I didn't feel like getting a ladder so it needs to be washed again. I ran out of steam so part of it was a hit and mostly a miss. Went and got the tires and came home and mowed. We are suppose to have bad weather coming tomorrow night. I got the mower bogged and all the chains have walked. I had to pull it out using a tie down strap. Harold use to keep a chain in the four wheeler box but it's gone. I'm going to get a chain and spray paint it pink and dare anyone to touch it.
 My shoulder is talking to me tonight.

Carol, you had too much excitement for one day.

That collar looked a lot easier for dog and humans than those plastic cones! But you would have to order one in advance to have it handy. Wonder if it would work for cats?

Tired from driving, but all set up for next three days at Armitage in Eugene. Loaded up with groceries to the point I cannot fit anything more in my freezer, but at least I will not have to do any more shopping for a week or so. And laundry was done in Napa, plus got a full tank of gas in Medford at Oregon, instead of California, prices! California is really horrible for gas right now, so I bought just enough on Monday to get me to Oregon.

A lot colder here in Oregon than in Napa, however, by about 10-15 degrees. Might have to wear long pants.

Thanks for thinking of us Barbie. And the truth is I always seem to have an English Cocker sized cone in storage when I need one. A Golden sized one also! That is what comes with multiple dogs of the same breed/size. Long ago when Herschel had his ear surgery the soft cone would have worked. I also can see that they might keep a dog from getting to incisions located more centrally on their body. Wounds and incisions or in this case a tempting bandage on an extremity like a rear foot could most likely still be reached. Dogs are just too talented! He really hasn't seemed too interested in the foot but they can damage tender skin so quickly that I for one am not taking any chances.....
