Cloudy Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cloudy Sunday

Postby Colliemom » Sun Oct 28, 2018 10:32 am

Thought I would get Ctoffee going before afternoon is here. Been under the weather with a cold, so haven’t been up to much since Friday. Doing better this morning though. Just took a warm shower, washed my hair, actually got out of my jammies and into regular clothes  Stripped my bed and washing the bedding. Time to get those germs gone.

Need to run a vac around this place too, as dog hair here and there. Winter is coming and my two are throwing their coats

Been chilly, damp and wet here too. Story for the past month, with a nice day thrown in once in awhile. Good weather for fleece and flannel. Shirl, nice to see you posting more. Know what you retired gals mean about getting things done. When we have all the the in the world.... I think it’s the seasonal changes that keep me motivated, knowing that this and that has to be done before that window closes. This time of year it’s keep after the leaves, put stuff away etc. and other chores before that white stuff starts flying. Winter is more a lay back season, but at same time, it’s my time to do projects in house before spring comes. Cause once it’s starting to get nice out, out I go. Then comes the spring chores before summer playtime arrives, which eventually leads to fall and the process starts over

So that’s my world today. Have a nice day all :)

Good Afternoon, Early voting was a breeze, guess people sleep in on Sunday. I broke down and baked an apple walnut cake yesterday. Need to put it in the freezer so Shirl doesn’t eat it all. Sue, I started posting more because I was afraid the lack of activity might shut this site down. I am really trying to make my life more exciting for everyone here without much success. Safe travels

Pine tree is still standing. The manager said he will call the company who took the trees out of the creek for me last year, to do this one. I know they have all the right equipment for it since they used the big truck with the bucket boom on it last time.

Chilly in the house this morning. Have the furnace on but set to 65 so it has come on a few times. Sun is starting to come out after a foggy night and morning. It warms up quickly once the sun is shining.

Am off to work shortly but have tomorrow off. Need to work on my voting ballot. Lots of propositions to read thru and decide on. Also need to go thru my stuff and get out what I want to put in the carport sale next Saturday.

I have been tired and down in the dumps lately so I haven't been too energetic or motivated to do much. Not sure what brought that on or how to pull myself out of it. :(

Enjoy your day!

Sue, I don't know what's up with my cats too. Winter's coming(maybe) and they seem to be shedding more.

Shirl, I'm not having much luck making my life more exciting either. I keep signing up for camping trips but I would just as soon just sit here. I keep putting off things that need to be done.

My son and his girlfriend were only 30 minutes late last night. My step daughter came and met me and we visited while I waited. She had something to go to with her reunion so didn't eat. I didn't tell my son that his sister would be there or he would have been even later. She likes to talk(never shuts up) so she could ask him all the questions she asks me about him. She has decided that she wants to go on one of my camping trips. Now I can only talk about them after the fact. My friends have to put up with my sister most of the time. If I brought her too I might get banned.

I want to wash Hank but I know I will end up wetter than him.

Rain off and on here too. I am enjoying a cloudy rainy day for a change. Glad I finished staining my fence when I did otherwise I might have had to wait quite a while. But here we never know if we are going to get plenty of rain on any given day, then sunshine OR drizzly rain most days. After our huge fire season I will be grateful for any amount of rain.

Done a couple loads of laundry still need to change my sheets too. Now going to have some lunch and settle down to see what I can find on Amazon video or Netflix. Having white fish and a yam for lunch with small salad. Sounds pretty good to me.

I have my Roomba going as Emma has been blowing her summer coat for about 2 weeks now but I think she is pretty well done with that business now.

Long drive today, but made it to Yreka, CA. Tomorrow, I head to Medford and have lunch with Karen (Oregonlvr). Relax during afternoon and make it back to Eugene on Tuesday.

Back is really killing me after long drive, and of course, I hid my pain meds so well I cannot find them, so will have to take Advil instead and hope it helps. I also have a heating pad somewhere in my motorhome, but where is another mystery. I have GOT to get less creative in my hiding places! I have a prescription for pain pills for my back and when I get kidney stones, but I really seldom take them. Can't refill without seeing a doctor.

I think the back problem is from son's couch. Son is very tall, so they have one of those big couches where my feet don't touch the ground. I put pillows behind me, but still slump and am uncomfortable. I think driving made it worse, but if it does not get better in a couple of days, I will go to doctor. It even hurts when I cough, and it feels like a muscle spasm.

No fun, Judy. I hope the pain lessens being back in your rv.

Ty and I made it to my casita in Benson. I left late this morning so thought I'd break the drive up into two days... But where I was going to stop I still had energy and then I remembered I'd gain my hour today because Arizona doesn't change... So continued on.

Not making any progress toward making my life more exciting either.
Judy - hope your back better soon. I've been having problems with my back for almost a month. It is a little better but only when I basically don't do any work or even move around much. Cannot keep that up.

Found my pills just where they should have been, but the Advil is doing a pretty good job, so will skip the narcotics.

Backs are really the bane of getting old, aren't they? My mother had severe problems with spinal stenosis and had to get treatments that destroyed the offending nerves. I hope I do not get that bad. My back, by the way, is why I took out the front dinette in my motorhome and replaced it with my recliner. Sitting slightly reclined with my feet up is a lifesaver for me.

I drove along the area in the mountains north of Lake Shasta where the road was closed because of the fires last summer. Took a bunch of photos and just updated my blog with them. Crews are removing all the dead trees that are on highway property and fixing the hillsides that might cause problems for the roadway when the rains come later this fall and winter. I assume removing dead trees will also help prevent new fires.
