Rainy, Rainy, Rainy Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy, Rainy, Rainy Saturday

Good Morning All,
Going to be a dreary couple of days as the nor’easter moves north. Good weekend to organize closets and dresser drawers. Fixing a hearty breakfast on Sunday and then cast an early vote. Safe travels

At the vets early this morning for his laser treatment. The plan for the rest of the day is to stay dry and warm. A trip to the library is in the works, also. What exciting lives we lead. This is my third weekend to not be showing in a dog show. Might have to sort a few clutter corners just to know I’ve done something.

Good morning
A busy day ahead of me, laundry and extra house cleaning. Rugs and bedding and get the vacuam out and do the corners, lots of dog hair piled in those corners. Have some stuff to transfer from the motorhome to the fifthwheel for storage as well as a few items in the shed need to go over there. Got a legal update from the mhp management. As of January, the park ceases to be a senior community and becomes a family park until the "uncertainty" of what will happen in august,,,, close or not close. Lot of legal mumbo jumbo I could have done without. My plan remains the same, staying here into school gets out in May and heading north for summer. Come back in fall to winter in LaPosa. If I can manage my budget without working, I will be ok. Otherwise those little towns around there have kids that need to go to school. Looking at Parker for that.
In the meantime, getting the mh prepped for a trip to LaPosa Nov 8 thru 12th. Need to replace the sail switch on the furnace as the furnace isn't working right. It did last time I was in Q but not now. So before I spend the money on a service call I will spend the $7 on a new sail switch and see if it works. Research gives me 3 possibilities and that's the cheapest and most common .
Did my emissions yesterday on the car, will go get tags today.
Also have some cooking planned for do ahead meals, that could take me into tomorrow.
Two weeks to go until quiet and fun. A friend coming in from Parker to do some offroading and sightseeing.
Y'all have a great day, be safe.

We have sun for a change. I need a lot of sun to dry the yard so I can mow. It is a soggy mess.

I remembered last night that my step-daughter was suppose to be in for her class reunion. It was home coming and the reunion class rides in the parade. She should have called and reminded me. If I don't write things down they are here today and gone tomorrow.

I don't know what I'll do today. Roomba is picking up cat hair. I don't know why but it seems like Stinky and Pinky are shedding a lot. I should be brushing them more but I can't keep up with the brush. I can lay something down and it's gone. For some reason I seem to have too many blankets. They need to be packed away. I wash and fold them and then the cats sleep on them and they need to be washed again. Same thing with beach towels. For someone that might go swimming once a year I have a lot of beach towels.

It's also a beautiful, sunny day here in New Mexico. Cheryl and I took Punkin and Ty to the sandy bottom of the dammed (is that a word?) Rio Grande and they had a ball. What fun.

I had originally intended to leave today... But tomorrow is soon enough. :) I do think Ty will like the fenced in doggy area at my park in Benson. But I don't think I'll be able to let him off leash in the surrounding desert like I was able to with Peaches.

Sunny and beautiful here in north San Diego, like usual!

Slept in this morning waiting to be awakened by chain saws but nothing yet. I thought they would be here bright and early but it is almost noon. Maybe they had another job this morning and will be here later. So for now, I will enjoy the peace and quiet.

I realized that my Jeep only has a 4 pin electrical plug for a trailer. If I find the right travel trailer, most likely it will have a 7 pin plug on it, so I brought my Jeep to a client of mine last night (he has his own mechanic shop) and he is going to rewire it to a 7 pin and set it up for electric brakes. I want to be ready if/when I find the right trailer. I also can't find my hitch receiver. I know I have it around somewhere, so I will check the shed again.

I better go find something constructive to do until the tree trimmers get here... Enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone,

We'll take some of that rain out here.

Tina, I know what you mean about our weather - nearly perfect most of the time. I hope I never take it for granted - each day is lovely. And congrats to Josef! way to go!

Ava, I'm sure it'd be nice to know what they're going to do with the place you live - good to see you're able to relax & just take a 'wait & see' attitude. Hope that part fixes the furnace. I'll miss seeing you all at Quartzite. But everyone who goes will have a great time.
Sheila, I'm still making those potholders you showed me how to crochet last year. Everyone loves that pattern & they're just the right thickness.

Barb, I'm sure the chain saws will start up soon enough - enjoy the quiet while you can.

I'm working on the patio area today. Still have a pile of dirt I need to get rid of, but it's starting to look nice. Not many plants yet, but a clean, open space just waiting for some patio furniture & more greenery & flowers.

My 17-year-old granddaughter is coming out on Wed for a week. She wants to visit a store on Hollywood Blvd :o Should be interesting... And then DD & SIL will be coming up next weekend. Should be busy but fun.

Well, I'd better get busy.
Stay safe out there...

Well no longer morning but I was very productive this morning. Weeded both my raised bed gardens, tilled up the dirt then covered it with plastic. Will keep the weeds down and the dang cats out of there. They seem to think it could possibly be their new catbox......wrong. Then bagged up the yard debris, and household garbage and took that over to the dumpster......found a big trailer there to put the garbage in and the dumpster taped shut LOL This dumpster is brand new this year, bigger and automatic, cost quite a bit....hope it is still under warranty. Then dumped of my recyclables and newspapers. Thought I might go get my flu shot then thought NAH, Monday will work. You know that is the trouble with being retired. I used to be fairly disciplined as I only had a certain amount of time to get things done. Now I am like............I can do it tomorrow......LOL Beautiful sunny day today but they are thinking a "chance" of rain tomorrow night. I sure hope so, we sure need it. OK time for a little boob tube relaxation. I have a couple of shows taped that I need to watch before they are on again LOL

Last day in Napa. Had my son take me to Lowes to get an 8' long 8x10 and cut it up into two foot sections to use under tires for those few times my motorhome needs to be leveled. The funny thing is that I used to be really careful to be level, but as I get older, I am more and more into the "good enough" mindset. As long as I don't fall out of bed, it is good enough!

He dropped me back off the RV park, and I tried to do a load of laundry, but apparently someone broke the washer by putting the wrong thing in it, and they are waiting for the repair guy. I made some sugar cookie dough the other day and refrigerated it, so need to get it warmed up a bit so I can roll it out and make pumpkin-shaped frosted cookies. Will drop them off at son's tomorrow morning on my way out of town. (Except, will save some for myself!)

Grand-daughter has always been a little unique. She is 11 and is very creative and extremely talkative--reminds me of Anne Shirley character from Anne of Green Gables. Good kid but gets into trouble doing things no other kid would ever even think of doing. So, the two kids ride to school in the morning with their principal mom, but ride their scooters home in the afternoon because their mom has to stick around another hour. So, she fell off her scooter and scraped her elbow and knee--nothing unusual. But her first call was in tears to her mom describing how she had broken at least four bones in her foot and a range of other "injuries." (Mom knows to ignore the drama by now. You know the parent questions: Are you breathing, bleeding heavily, etc. If not, put a band-aid on it!) So this was the day before, but last night, she demonstrated to me how she must have fallen to have twisted her shoulder and yet still fallen on her elbow. I had to control myself to not laugh at the contortions. Amazing what happened to her in the half-second of falling.

Well, almost 5pm and no tree trimmers. Park manager stopped by a little while ago and is not happy. Says he will contact another company to come out this week. Oh well, as long as we don't have wind and/or rain in the meantime...

Yesterday I stopped at the library to pick up a couple of books that were on hold for me. Naturally, I stopped into their used bookstore and picked up another handful of books, so have been going thru those today.

I finally got to go eat boiled crabs and my hands are on fire. I hope I don't forget and rub my eyes.

Barbie, I hope the manager finds someone that knows what they are doing to remove the tree. The company that came to take down the pecan tree came with a crane and a bucket truck.
