Time for Adventures Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Time for Adventures Friday

Postby BirdbyBird » Fri Oct 19, 2018 8:06 am

It is always time for adventures. May you create some for yourself today. Try something new. Explore an alternative route home. Wander around just listening and observing. Accomplish something that you have always wanted to check off your to do list and soak in the sense of having climbed another mountain. Breathe. Practice finding things that make you smile. Create a good day.

I am off to set up a grooming area at a near by dog show for a friend. Josef isn't entered but grooming space is limited and if Josef's co-owner waits till she arrives on Sunday there will be no space or electric outlets available let. It is what Josef does for friends. I will take my grooming table, crate, chair and electric cords.....and come back Sunday and visit. It is only a 20 minute drive down the road.

If Lark is lucky his breeders will have a vendor booth at the show and she will be able to visit and show them that she is trying to catch up with one of her sister who have already achieved some obedience titles. Competitive siblings, what are you gonna do?

Coffee is on and remember the private forum breakfast chef is always on duty and prepares meals to order!

Tina, I love that first paragraph! Such a good reminder to take time for ourselves. You and Josef are very thoughtful to help out this week!

I am enjoying the sudden peace and quiet...the tree trimmers just left and their wood chipper and chain saws have left a buzzing in my ears! They took down the fallen limb which was a lot bigger than I had thought. It fell into a large yucca tree and took part of that down. They will come back for the rest of the tree hopefully soon. The guy in charge told me that the tree is definitely weakened now and has to come down. It is a huge undertaking tho with how big the tree is and they need bigger equipment, a larger crew and he said they will have to cover my car and anything else that we don't want sap getting on.

Now there is a large ugly half dead bush that was behind the tree that is very visible now, so I can have my handyman help me trim that back later. Will sure have a much better view of the creek now! And be able to see the sunset, which also means more afternoon sun on the house. Better sun, than the tree tho!

Well, that is the excitement for my day! Enjoy yours!

Rainy Friday Afternoon

Postby Colliemom » Fri Oct 19, 2018 1:28 pm

Too late to start Coffe now, but how about some afternoon tea! Sharon, Canada left the door open here since last month and doesn’t look like it will shut anytime soon either. Maybe next spring. We have already seen rain and snow showers but no accumulations yet. I’m getting outside chores done and by next week will pretty much be done with the necessary stuff. Then will just putter around with this or that.

Barb, hope that tree gets taken care of once and for all. But basically nothing new here. Wishing I could be off camping, but not gonna happen. But looking forward to making next years reservations as the booking window moves through the weeks and months :D

Good afternoon Sue & everyone!

I can prepare hot or iced tea, for whomever wants it. We have these pieces of bread that are very thin, maybe 2" x 2", rye and have ham salad, sliced tomatoes & onions and seafood salad.

It's warm here, about 86 but we have a breeze but we'll be very chilly on Sunday with a high of 77. I'll be taking a sweater or jacket to church. I'll be playing in church for the first time in FL this coming Sunday. Just heard one of our parishioners in FL was given her last rites today so it sounds like I have a funeral to play for soon. She was the fulltime organist at church. I am only the assistant organist. So sad.

Leftovers are for dinner and we have plenty for anyone that wants to stop by. Tomorrow, we'll have a barbecue. As Tina said, enjoy your day and look around to see what you an do to make your life more enjoyable.

It's a good thing I had no adventures planned for today. My sinuses have been far beyond control and last night I found the Zyrtec and wondered why I decided (way back) not to take it. Haha... I now remember I get almost ALL the side effects. No way I could drive... I couldn't keep my eyes open. Ok, so a fairly good, long nights sleep. But I've been nauseous all day... Except for an hour or so as I napped, unintentionally. I couldn't keep my eyes open if they were stapled open! I'm throwing these out.. Never again. I must admit my sinuses are draining some better and my headache is much improved. But the nausea alone is not acceptable. Ty has had two short walks. I'm hoping before dark I'm up to taking him further. Right now I'd just like to climb back in bed until my tummy felt better.

Hopefully I'll able to get up early tomorrow. The only reason I'm still at this park is because I want to go on the ranch house tour tomorrow morning. There will be my adventure. Then down the road a bit Sunday for hopefully new adventures.

(There's a part of me saying to keep these and take one occasionally early evening... Go to bed early and sleep in... Maybe I could avoid most symptoms that way? The other part of me i s slapping myself for considering ever putting another of these pills down my throat.)

Have you tried other kinds of meds for that? For me, I have to cut the dose of most over the counter meds in half. Sudafed (behind the counter kind) is the only thing that works for me and I have no side affects from it.
Luckily, my allergies are almost non-existent out here. Hope you feel better soon and get to take your tour tomorrow.

Are you taking regular Zyrtec or Zyrtec D? The latter has sudafed and sudafed will keep you awake. I take Zyrtec D with sudafed but only in the morning. In the evening I use one of those Breathe Right strips that keeps my nose open. Allows me to breathe.
My allergist originally wanted me to take one morning and night, but night one kept me awake all night, which was awful.

Hope you find something that works.

Regular Zyrtec. Sudafed and I don't agree either. It makes my headaches worse.
