Good Sunday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Sunday Morning

Postby Shirlv » Sun Oct 14, 2018 9:03 am

Just stopping in to open the kitchen. I broke down and turned the heat on. Found a recipe for Copycat Wendy’s Chili. It was so good they ate it all. Good day to stir in a pot so will make another batch for the freezer. I was so sick of fooling with caladiums bulbs this past spring but when it finally stopped raining they grew and were beautiful. Now I’m planing to dig them up and save for next year. Need to run to the store before the crowds arrive. Safe travels

Good morning to All. I've been reading but not posting. It was a crappy very hot summer. In fact so unpleasant Bill, the driver, can't wait to get away from Southern NV. Lots of very high heat and too many doctors appointments, he had to have stents in his heart. Lots of reactions to new meds.
Now that it has finally cooled down to where I love it - low 70's, he is freezing. So a week from tomorrow we'll be heading out for places south. Way south - Mexico.
So from now to then lots to do. All the cleaning RV and house and loading everything up. And checking the lists many times.
Trying to clean out the refrigerator freezer - so will be doing a lot of cooking this week. Empanadas and corned beef need to be made and used. Hope it continues top stay cool.
Take care everyone.

Good Morning. It seems strange to be planning activities for a weekend and not have it dog show related. Josef continues to vibrate with wild energy while jumping around the house oblivious to the "cone of destruction" on his head. Even with added staples in the rear paw he does not slow down. I discontinued the pain meds this morning. Maybe he will notice. Maybe not. Keeping it dry but being told not to wrap it is what perplexes me the most. I keep antibiotic cream on it and can only be vigilant.

Lark took me out for a hike yesterday and did a wonderful job being an excellent hiking partner.

Carol, don't over due the packing. Hope you and Bill have a good and safe trip south.

Yesterday was cool. Today is wet and cool. We may not be back out hiking today.

I have a question or maybe suggestion. I hadn't planned on checking into the "Member's Only" thread daily because I am wishing/hoping/thinking that though I understand the necessity for its existence, most of what goes on will continue to still be here. There are so few members posting and so little shared in general, I would hate to lose what little sense of community we have left that might be meaningful to lurkers and newbies trying to find a "new tribe" in their search for help in their life journey. If someone does have important "member only" information or thoughts to share please maybe you could give us a heads up.

Good morning all
Nice sunny skies here and as soon as the sun gets above the visor I will head east for home. I have really enjoyed these past 5 days, and can't wait to get back here. Will check the school calendar and plan a couple days off to make an extended weekend. Next time all I need is gas. It was certainly good for me to clear my head. Maybe by the time I get back here Sheila will be here.
I really like Parker and maybe another option for settling.
About time to start stowing stuff for the road. Y'all have a great day, be safe and prayers for Barbz.

Tina, I agree on the Members Only room. And the thread on there is important that it not be on the internet. I'm hoping it'll continue to be used only for that purpose.

Ty is frustrated because I'm up but not lol. I went to bed last night telling myself I'd get on the road early this morning. I love that I don't have to and thus have not rushed out. But he does need a walk, so maybe I should accommodate him soon.

We're going to have a downturn in terms the next few days... Before they get back more to normal.

Morning has passsed by, so I’m hoping everyone is having a good day. We were promised a cool week end, yesterday was in mid 70’s which felt wonderful (still hot) but better then we’ve had but this morning temps are back up . It’s very hard for me to feel the cold you all describe, I’ve been in this heat for way too long! Debating with myself whether to go north to see color or just to campground nearby. I do need a change in scenery and temps, one would do wonders!

Wishing those on the road today safe but fun journeys. Carol and Bill take care doing too much, departure seems close but we’re all excited about reading of your travels. My only way of traveling down into that country .

I’ve been going through paperwork, what a bore. Got rid of so much past couple of years but it piles up faster then I can get rid of it!

Tina, excellent idea about ‘heads up’ for member only post. I hadn’t planned to check each day just hoping no one will really have a need to post there. It’s a much needed topic area, I feel.

No real news, happy Sunday all!!

Good Morning, Good thoughtful post, Tina. I wish I had more interesting things to write about. With this ankle pain, that is consuming me. I continue the water jogging and the exercises PT gave mr. Interesting, last Thursday, I was almost pain free! Then the pain came back with a vengeance.
I do plan on going to the Lance factory tour next weekend. Pain and all. It is a four day weekend party. Maybe that will generate something interesting for me to post!

I agree with you Carol, it was a crappy, very hot summer. We had a few cool days but it's back up to 90. At least it's not raining. I was looking out the back door and it looks like one of the neighbors has a grass fire in their pasture. It very windy. I hope it doesn't jump the road and head this way.

We are suppose to have a chili cook off at the campout this coming weekend. Last 2 years there was way too much chili so I'm not making any. I like the chili dogs the next night better. I want to make a cake that was on Facebook but I don't have the ingredients yet. Today would be a good day to cook but I don't think I have room in the freezer to freeze it until I am ready to leave.

Ava, glad you had a good getaway. Q is still on my radar. I just hate to ask the neighbors to feed for that long and leave the house cats that long.

Lyn, have a good factory tour but don't over do it. I would like to make one of the Coach House tours. The systems on my newer motorhome are different from the last and I would like to have some things explained. I have mystery switches that aren't on any paperwork.

One of the shades broke in the camper and I kind of got it fixed. I'm sure it is going to break again if we keep messing with it. I decided to try to put up a curtain. Of course Walmart didn't have the size I need or the material that would be good for curtains. I was wandering around and saw some table clothes that would work.

The lady that owns the land next to me is on a tractor mowing the pasture. She is 85. Every time I mention doing that they tell me to stay off the tractor.

It's a place that only active members can view. Beth set it up, actually at my suggestion, because I wanted to post something that I did not want the general public (and my employer) to read. It is not critical, and if I have any really serious updates, I will let everyone know in the morning coffee area.

Carol, it seems like you two just got back from Mexico and now you are getting ready to head down there again! Where did this summer go??

Ava, Have you been to Lake Havasu? I hear that is really pretty there along the river. Glad you had a nice time this week. Sounds like you really needed that little getaway.

Tomorrow morning I will talk with the park manager about my tree. My roommate, Denise, mentioned that we are supposed to get some Santa Ann winds this week. Need to make sure the rest of the tree is secure and safe from falling over onto the house!

Denise made London Broil tonight and shared with me! Yum! I am eating much better since she moved in! Lol! She loves to cook and bake and I get to enjoy the results! :D She also found an almost new cat tree at a yard sale today for $10 and bought it for my kitties!

I am thinking the members only area would be a good place to post my personal contact info, so if something happened to me, someone here would know how to try and contact me to check up on me. Not quite as big of a deal now that I have a roommate but would be nice if my WRV friends had that info. Does that sound like a good idea?

Tired tonight so am heading to bed earlier than usual.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
