Off We Go Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Off We Go Friday

Postby BirdbyBird » Fri Sep 28, 2018 8:14 am

The RV is turned around in the driveway. I picked up some fresh milk for morning breakfast, bathed a dog and we are ready to go after I check the tire pressure and maybe load on a little more water. We don't really use that much in a weekend and it saves me the trouble of hooking up at the fairgrounds where I am never sure were the water connections might be.

The weather looks to remain delightful cool at night and 60-70's in the daytime. Think I can enjoy that. Both vets agree that the growth on the bottom of Josef's foot does not appear to be one that needs to alarm him but since it hasn't cooperated by going away should probably come off in case it decides to continue growing. That does mean that he will have to take some time off but it also means that he can wait a couple of weeks before surgery. So unless he starts limping he will finish up the next couple of weekends that he is already entered in and then still have plenty of recoup time before his November specialty in Columbus or the National show in Orlando. His schedule has more dates on it than mine for the time being anyway.

Go out and discover parts of the world today! We all need those good parts.

Mornin' Tina & all who follow~~~

Tina, loved your story the other day about your old home. And BJ, got a giggle about you hooting with the owl. Velda, nice to see you're getting out a bit. First year will be the hardest, but you will get to a new normal at some point.

I'm currently in southwest MN for a few days. Very brisk here. Put the flannel sheets on the bed because it's not cold enough for putting the heat on, although I did put it on this A.M. to get the chill out and to make sure it's working. Will then be off to SD for a few days. Still on a hunt for a truck since the 19s are slowly getting to the dealers.

Ma is hating the active adult community that she moved to. Complaining that no one likes her and no one will let her sit at their table for meals. Personally, I think her bad attitude & and not being the center of attention is causing he problems. At least I feel better knowing that she has people around, including a cousin's ex-wife.

That's it from me. Have a good day & stay safe wherever you are.

I just missed morning, as usual, so good afternoon! BJ & Judy, I enjoyed your owl stories! Tina, have fun at the dog show this weekend. You should be comfortable with the temperatures you're having. Cheryl it won't be long & I'll be putting flannel sheets on our bed, too. I love using them in the cooler weather. I feel for your Mom as I know it's hard making friends at the assisted living homes but hope she'll adjust.

We're at a campground on the MD/DE line for a week and have friends coming into today for the weekend. They're always fun to be with. I'm preparing what is called meatball filled zucchini boats for dinner which is a carb free meatball sub, topped with melted mozzarella cheese. We'll have a salad as a side. When we get home the middle of the week, we're hoping to get our last half bushel of steamed crabs for some more crab cakes and cream of crab soup before leaving for FL.

Have fun today!

Irmi, there you go with the crabs again. I'm going to make it to the seafood patio one of these days. I saw a recipe with chicken meatballs and the zucchini cut like noodles that looked good. I have one of those gadgets somewhere.

My mother ended up at a nursing home near me where most of the residents spoke cajun french. She was very confused by that time so that didn't help. It was always a fight about who could sit where.

I am trying to update my phone since it decided to connect to the Wifi today. The phone says it's connected but the updates say it's not. Some days I would like to see how far I can throw it.

Still waiting on the electrician to show back up. I would like to be able to plug my motorhome in so I don't have to run the engine to charge it. Target has air fryers on sale so thinking about going to Target. Like I need another cooking appliance. I stopped at Macy's on Wednesday to see if they still have the purse I use when I travel. They still have it but it's more cheaply made. Haven't decided if I want to get a new one or use the one that looks shabby. My favorite purse was made by Liz Claiborne and they are only sold by JC Penny's now. The quality of those purses has gone way down.

It's cold in Keystone today. Woke up to snow flurries. I never checked to see if the higher elevations got any accumulations. I did call and reschedule Ty's vet appointment for tomorrow. I didn't want to drive the motorhome up the big hill while it's that slippery... Then, as it's not warming up today, I'd probably be driving it back down to come home. Hopefully it won't be a problem tomorrow.

I'm pretty much a bum today. I might go to the store later and prepare some of the end of season paperwork to be ready for doing inventory. We're going to start that, if possible, on Sunday while still open. We might not have much to do Tuesday then... And that's fine with me. Ty and I did stop in the store and office this morning. My boss came in and he's one of Ty's favorite people to play with. Ty was one happy puppy.

Good afternoon. Got my living room and dining room carpet shampooed looks so much better after all the tracking in and out by myself AND the dog. Her hair is long so she pick up a lot of dried leaves and barkdust. Will probably have to do it again in the spring after the winter weather causes lots of puppy tracks.

Put a pot roast in the crockpot this morning so will have dinner all ready to go later. I didnt want to do it in the Instant Pot today as I had ambition this morning and sometimes in the afternoon not so much. Smells good already.

Need to start getting stuff ready to load in the Motorhome, I have towels and sheets to go in. Then will see what the weather will be before I load any clothes. Food to be decided later. Looking forward to seeing Sandi again and hearing all about her Mule trip. So glad Diana will be able to join us also for the Pow Wow and Sundial bridge tour. Since I used to live there I want to take a drive to see the devastation from the Carr fire. Fun times ahead.

Sunny and cool today with a nice breeze blowing thru the house. :D

Karen, are most of the wildfires out now up there? Hope we get an early rainy season this year. There is a Cat 4 hurricane (Rosa) heading towards Baja Mexico that is suppose to skim San Diego next week so we might get some much needed rain here from that.

Being lazy today. Was gonna go to the DMV today but the wait times are around 2 hours and I am not in the mood to sit there for that long (besides, I read that the wait times are stated to be much shorter than they actually are).

Working this evening. Then off tomorrow. No plans yet... lots to do but no ambition.

Have a good one! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

No Barbie, in fact we are smoked in today as the wind changed. There are still 4 or 5 still burning. They are "contained" but will be a while before they are totally out. We too have a front coming in saying "possible rain and thunderstorms tomorrow" ha ha we shall see.
