Wonderful Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wonderful Thursday

Postby BirdbyBird » Thu Sep 27, 2018 8:37 am

The day is still new enough for us to try and make it live up to its title. Not much planned here other than stopping to pick up a few grocery items for this weekends dog show and through a couple of warmer clothing choices into the RV. Josef has an appt with a second vet for a second opinion but is probably looking at surgery soon for a small grow on his rear foot that we were hoping would go away on its own but has not cooperated. Other than that the dogs and I are enjoying the cooler fall weather and being able to get out side without melting.

Heading to Monroe, Michigan, for the weekend and beyond that the jello choices are up in the air.

If possible find something to enjoy or discover some wondrous moments today.

I have always liked Thursday. Maybe because I am a “Thursday’s Child”? Ankle still becomes painful only when I stand up and walk.?!?! I am planning to go to CostCo today. Brave out the pain, leaning on the cart. We’ll see how that works out. Yesterday, in the pool, doing water jogging, the pain came, then went away!?!? This is sure a puzzle. It’s not keeping me awake at night tho. I sleep quite well.

Hope that lump on Joseph’s foot is nothing serious. Lumps can be a worry. Hope all of you have a nice day.

After a couple of years telling my good friend sorry not now on taking me out to lunch for my birthday, today we are going out for lunch! Of course, my birthday was September 15, the day of Mel's funeral, but I'm up for lunch today with no worries about home. Besides at 70 I'm allowed to celebrate all month! It's both a relief and sad, but I'm getting there. Day by day, I'm functioning better and sleeping better. Weather guy says this is likely the last day of 90's until spring! Beautiful fall day headed to 94 degrees. Tomorrow begins the fall slide in temperature. Each day I clear and clean a new area, even if it's only one drawer! Still awaiting one package of forms for benefits from Navy and have appointment for another plus a stop, around the corner at SS, but overall the paperwork battle is moving along. Hope by Dec 1 checks are starting to arrive monthly so I can proceed with the fixing things we had planned. Today is a good and wonderful day, I agree.

Velda, I did wish you a happy Birthday, as much as possible, on morning coffee the actual day. I didn't start a birthday thread because I knew it wasn't the time. But, yes, birthdays can be celebrated all month... Heck, all year. I'm glad things are getting somewhat easier. Hugs.

Tina, I hope Josef's problems are minor.

Lyn, have you ruled out planter fasciitis? It's no fun, but I can control mine with which shoes I wear. Of course, they are not the recommended shoes.

Tina, are you staying in Sterling State Park? I often use that as a base and choose one of the sites overlooking Lake Erie. Wish I were there so I could use the car/truck wash across from the entrance as my vehicle is really really dirty!

How did I miss out on the rule that I can celebrate my birthday for a whole month?? And, Velda, cleaning only one area a day will get the job done--good technique.

Nice day today--sunny and warm, but very cold last night here along Columbia River. Not much I have to do today, but have a few things to keep me busy.

Got a few things done this morning. Gardener was here and trimmed all my bushes so I am good now until spring. Decided since it is going to be hot today to shampoo my bedroom carpet. Got the shampooer in and ready to load and didnt have any rug shampoo...sheesh. Made a run to Walmart came home vacuumed and then shampooed the bedroom. It was so much easier without a dog hopping all over as I am shampooing. LOL Blossom would just go find somewhere out of the way to sleep.................no not Emma, she has to be in the thick of things. Just had some lunch and going to the neighbors to play a rousing game of Mexican train. Then will come home and find out what happened during the hearings.

Yes Beth I know you acknowledged my birthday, which I much appreciated. In fact, cousin Mike took son Chris, myself, and two of my girlfriends out that night after the funeral to Red Lobster and he talked me into eating a whole 2 lb lobster, which I had not done since 1972! It was subdued but fun. Today was both celebrating my birthday , and acknowledging that now I can go out without worrying for first time in over 5 years. Ate at a place called Island Bar and Grill where they make a Keto friendly protein plate that I brought home half for tomorrow! It's still a challenge to just let go and relax, but I'm getting there. And I do appreciate hugs!

It hasn't rained yet today but there is a lot of rain in the gulf. I think it is passing just to the East of here. I should have walked Hank earlier because it hasn't been that hot today.

The electrician came on Tuesday to see about the problem on the carport. He didn't have the equipment needed and of course he hasn't shown back up. I don't know how people get houses built when it's so hard to get anything done.

I was trying to get caught up on some bookwork and of course the cats wanted to sit with me. I finally had to go sit at the kitchen counter. For years Pinky has been happy to hang out in the other bedroom. The only thing she wanted was fresh water when I went in the bathroom. In the last few weeks she has decided she wants me to pet her. She comes and hangs on the arm of my chair.

I signed up for two more campouts. I have 2 in October and 2 in November. I haven't decided about another maybe in November and one in December. I think I belong to too many clubs. lol

Good evening gals! Just got home a little while ago. Worked until 2, then stopped at the library and ended up buying a bunch of books at the used book store there, then stopped at Target. I remember now why I don't shop there very often. I don't like their stuff and it is too expensive. I was supposed to go to a meet-up group tonight but it is in San Diego and I don't feel like fighting traffic to go down there. So I will stay home and go thru my new books.

Velda, sounds like you are adapting to your new life pretty well. Like they say "one day at a time". And you will have good days and bad days as you go along.

Martha, you too are keeping busy with all your camping groups and friends. What kind of dog is Hank?
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hank is a Border Collie. He was Harold's cow dog. He's about 12 years old and I think he is very deaf or just doesn't want to hear me. I wish I could take him camping but I don't think he could get up and down the steps.
