Sunshine Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Sep 11, 2018 8:29 am

Good Morning from the cool 45th. Been in the 60’s for highs and upper 40’s, low 50’s for lows, but heading into 70’s as week progresses. Nothing but sunshine in forecast, which makes me happy as am going to start painting my deck railings today. Have a little painting to do in the deck coming out my side door too. On my list of fall chores. Have few other things I want to do, then will haul off with the trailer in a couple weeks if weather is good. Put all my summer decorations away and replaced with fall ones.

Watching Weather Channel talking about Florence and hope those of you on east coast don’t get it too bad. Not that Iam wishing any worst for rest of east coast, but unfortunately it’s going to be what it’s going to be.

Otherwise nothing new here. Have a nice day and keep out of harm’s way, whoever you are.

Morning Sue and all that follow. It is a cool cloudy (or smoky hard to tell yet) morning here. Feels good. Our high should only be 75, I am happy. So much more ambition when I am not sweating to death with every project.

Need to shampoo my carpets tomorrow, as I will be gone most of the afternoon so will do the bedrooms first.
Worrying about my friends in the Carolina's. That Florence looks down right scary.

Had lunch with my friend Malia and her daughter from Texas, who is out to see her Mom while she is still healthy. They took a Motorhome trip to the Redwoods and had a great time. She is happy she is still able to do some traveling and feels good except for gets tired by afternoon.

Took Emma yesterday morning for a much needed grooming appointment. She is double coated so is starting to blow her undercoat so if it isnt windy today will take her grooming table outside and furminate her now that she is clean. If it is windy the hair just blows everywhere instead of staying in the bag LOL

Loving the gray cooler fall temperatures. Stopped by my favorite Thrift Store after my Chiropractor appointment. Yes, I am easily entertained but one never knows what might fall out the back of some mini van at the donation door if you don't stop to see!

Josef got his first chiropractor appointment yesterday with an adjustment for his right shoulder. Not the same one as mine but I am tempted to change. She is about my age and does both humans and animals. She was highly recommended by several individuals that have performance dogs that do agility and obedience. Hey, Josef is an athlete, too! I had noticed when I reviewed a series of action shots from the Lexington shows that something seemed slightly off in his right shoulder and it appeared to affect his top line as he moved. It was slight but to ignore it might mess up his over all balance and movement. He is too young for that. Seems all those hours working this past spring and the $$ is being used. Good thing it is there.

There was also the saga of the missing wallet which I couldn't find after the Lexington Shows but which I had a clear memory of the last time I had seen it and knew it had not been randomly taken out of the bus after that incident. I now have a much more organized MH. And cleaner, too! I still didn't think it was stolen but only misplaced. I froze a couple cards but by Thursday I went and got a replacement Drivers License and opened a new checking account. (A card with my checking account number was in the wallet.) I cancelled a pediatrist appoint for my foot because I didn't have my medical and insurance cards. I kept checking sites and saw no indication that someone out there was busy trying to spend my money, so I didn't panic but did dread the idea of getting new cards, replacing membership passes, etc. Then, of course, the day after paying the 18 dollars for the duplicate license, as I was busy gathering up small stuff to carry out to the rig for the weekend on Michigan, I found said wallet at the bottom of one of the bags that I use to gather up assorted things and get them in/out the house. The bag was carefully folded in the small stack of useful bags on the kitchen table which lets me know that I had indeed checked the bag along with the others as a possible "lost/found" site. Yesterday I went out and purchased a bright, cheerful, eye catching, pick wallet. Black may be fashionable but d@#m they are more difficult to spot at the bottom of a dark cloth bag, or for that point most anywhere.

I am now being entertained by Lark with her purple squeaky pig that we brought home as part of the raffle basket we won this weekend. It is big enough that though she can squeak it with her mouth she has discovered that if she flops down on it or rolls around over it she can produce sounds also. She is very happy and proud of her discovery by all appearances.

Now to head off for some errands.

Good morning
Still recuperating from my sinus infection, slowly but I'm still on antibiotics.
Took the motorhome out for a drive to exercise the engine and the generator on
Sunday. Took my neighbor friends and we had lunch in Payson and then hung out
at the city park watching the ducks and enjoying the cool breeze.
Woke up yesterday morning and poor Abby had a swollen face. Checked my vets office
to see what time they open, 7 am ! I was there crying for help. My vet is so good and kind.
She spent the day and has an infection, source unknown. Antibiotics and prednisolane, eye
drops to keep the eyeball wet. She looks better but its gonna be a long ordeal. Won't know for a couple days if she tests positive for valley fever. But the eyeball is ok and no bad teeth. Keeping the gel drops in every couple hours is hard when I have to go to work, neighbor will come over and do that for me.
Can't wait till we both are well !
Enjoy your day, be safe, (as I worry about the hurrican)

Ava, hope Abby and you feel better soon!

My handyman is here clearing out all the junk I had piled up behind the shed and hauling out the rock and wood chips from alongside the driveway. He also cut the chair rail for the bedroom so I can put that back on now.

My wash machine is making a lot of noise on the spin cycle so I need to find someone who can fix that ASAP!

Cooled off yesterday evening to the point of needing a sweater last night. I went to bed around 10:30 after taking half an Advil PM but still laid awake until almost 2am. Being in a new room probably didn't help, plus the new sheets I bought felt like sandpaper, so I pulled them off and put my old ones on. (Am washing the new ones today to soften them up. They must put starch on them to keep them looking nice when folded). Also put a fan in the window to pull in the cool air from the porch but that wasn't working too well, so I ended up turning on the AC for awhile. Was a rough night!

Getting the house ready to flea bomb when I leave for work today. Will come back on my break to open the windows and air it out so it will be good when I get home tonight. Cats will be locked out on the porch today. That's where they spend most of their time anyways.

Hope those of you out east stay safe and dry!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It has been raining off and on all day. I didn't really want to go to town but needed cat food. I forgot I needed to drive to the barn to unload a bag of food. I need to stop buying cat food in 40 lb bags. My shoulder has been bothering me so try to be careful about what I pick up.

Tina, I knew there were chiropractors for horses but didn't know there were some for dogs. Glad you found your wallet. That would be my nightmare.

Ava, hope you get over your infection soon and sorry about poor Abby. I'm glad I found a 24 hour vet clinic when I was getting the growth out of Orange Boy's ear. I haven't had to make an emergency visit yet but knowing my bunch it will probably happen.

My mini pies turned out pretty good. The lemon curd is a little too liquid so should have put something in it so it would set. The only reason I have lemon curd is because I bought some for a tea party at one of our campouts. You know I'm not going to throw anything away. I did find out that the English curd I bought is better than the one from Scotland. The English one is more lemony and the Scottish one is too sweet. I think I'll try making mini pecan pies next.

Not much to report on my way to Grand Canyon except I was going to stay tonight in Needles, CA. It’s right on the Colorado River, Route 66 and the California/Arizona border. HOWEVER, when I drove through it was 110 degrees. Needless to say, I kept on going to Williams, AZ where the high was 81. Much better and it’s currently about 66. Tomorrow on to Grand Canyon.
