It’s Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Friday

Postby Othersharon » Fri Sep 07, 2018 11:52 am

A bit past morning here. Decided I needed to get some lunch since as usual I didn’t manage to eat breakfast. Thought since the heat finally broke I would be able to get outside today but got one of the stray showers so all is wet again! And looking like the week end is a washout too. They’re predicting several inches of rain over the next several days. And they’re watching the storm out in the Atlantic to see what it might bring later in the next week.

Barbie, love what you’ve done to your bathroom. Always fun to make it your own. Did they manage to move the guy out from behind your place? Irmi, made me hungry for seafood too! Reminds me of my niece in MA when her DH suggested lobster and her reply was “again?” We looked at her strangely and said yes! Not something we in PA can get very often and not for the cheaper prices! Velda, one day and step at a time. Be kind to yourself.

Ok, sandwich is done and I need to get back to my project of the day. Have a good day and travel safe.

I didn't feel like driving to town to get fried catfish so cooked some shrimp to put on pasta. Maybe that will take care of my envie for seafood. I am still hoping to make it to Maine to fill up on lobster. lol

I almost got stung by a wasp again. They were building a nest under the railing on the front steps and one flew out and hit my ear but didn't sting me. I finally found the long range wasp spray. What ever kind of spray I am looking for I find the other. I was looking for some ant spray and all I could find was the wasp spray. The ants are trying to move into the house again because it's so wet. I beat them to the cat food and put the bowl in a pan of water.

It's raining again. The weather channel people are excited, they have 4 storms in the Atlantic to talk about. I am not going to be a happy camper if one of them make it into the gulf.

Barbie, your bathroom looks very nice. My master bath needs some decorating but the 2 big litter boxes would detract from it. I would like to take that "glamor" tub out and put a regular tub but I don't know someone that could do it and not charge an arm and a leg. I don't know why the companies that build trailers think those tubs are so great. You have to get in them to clean them.

I think the monthly dutch oven cookout is tomorrow at the state park. It's probably going to be raining again. We'll see if I can get moving in the morning to make it over there before noon.

Had to get out early before more smoke blows in from the Delta fire as the wind has changed...again. Needed to finish up my projects for the day. Finished getting my window casing painted, also the second coat on the door of my shed. I still have 2 more patio chairs to paint but it is a bit breezy today so can do it another day. I still need to power wash the other side of the house but today is not the day. Put some chicken thighs in the NuWave coated them with Terriyaki sauce and they are smelling super good.

I-5 freeway is still closed north of Redding and will be until Sunday. Lots of damage to the freeway, and some trees they are worried about. Sure glad I am not going south for a few weeks. The Delta fire is 25,000 acres with 0% containment. So sad.

Barbie I love what you have done in your bathroom what a difference. I cant wait to see your bedroom.

Martha I have one of those stupid "garden tubs" also in my bathroom. What a waste of space cause if I got in it I would never be able to get out.

Thinking of Velda today and the journey that awaits her. She will have a new normal.

Martha, I am always battling ants in here too! I also have to put a "moat" around the cat food dishes to keep the ants out. The only problem with that is the cats seem to drop pieces of food into the water and then it gets nasty stinky and I am always having to clean that out.

I haven't heard any noise in back of my house today yet. One of my neighbors came into the shop last night for a haircut (one of the only two customers I had in 5 hours!). I told her about the situation and she said she knows one guy (the one the police chased off the other day who I don't think is the one behind my house) who is really nice and lives on his SS but it's not enough for rent so he lives along the creek in a tent on the other side. She said she brings him food sometimes and talks to him. She said she would try to find him and see if he was the one by my house or if he knows who might be. I told her I don't mind them being back there as long as they aren't right behind my house and do not pose any threat to me.

Working on some putzy stuff today. Went to Home Depot to pick up a few things I needed there and then to the grocery store. A new Hobby Lobby is opening up just down the street from me! Not sure if that is a good thing or not!  $$$

Have tomorrow off so am hoping to get pretty much the rest of the things done in the master so I can move in there. My roommate, Denise, moves in next Saturday. Need to get her room and bath cleaned up and make space in fridge and kitchen cabinets for her stuff.

Then I want to go spend a day at the beach! Much deserved and way overdue! :D

Have a good one! :D

Karen, my sister wanted to take a bath in the garden tub one time so I made her try getting in it with her clothes on. Needless to say she didn't take a bath since she weighs about 100 pounds more than I do. I could just see us trying to get her out wet.

I painted the inside of the cabinet under the bathroom sink because it smelled real musty. I used Kilz paint. It did the trick to get rid of the smell. The cabinet under the guest bathroom sink is even worse so I plan to paint that too. And that lower cupboard in the kitchen that I have had such a hard time trying to get rid of that strong mystery smell (that I thought for awhile was a dead animal) is also going to get painted. Am hoping that will get rid of the smell in there once and for all!

Lots on my to-do list for tomorrow! Need to get to bed fairly early tonight so I can get up and at'm in the morning. :D
