Welcome Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

I actually did most of my grieving while I was taking care of her but the finality is still heartbreaking.

I realized this too, after my mom passed from complications with Alzheimers. I had been grieving the loss of so many things along the way, loss of the conversations we used to have, thing we used to be able to do together, loss of her personality and giving spirit. Still very sad to have lost her but a relief in the end as well. I dream about her almost every night yet and in those dreams she is the younger, healthy, beautiful, confident and loving person that I knew and loved so much! I feel enveloped by her love. :D Those dreams help to soften the sad memories of her at the end of her life.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Oh, dear Velda: I’m so sorry for your loss. As others have stated far better than I can, you gave him the life, and the death, that he wanted. And now, from one retired nurse to another, it’s time to tend to yourself in your grieving. Know that your Forun sistahs are thinking good thoughts and praying for you and your family.

Velda~
My heart breaks for you on the loss of Mel. Seek comfort in your family and friends thru a year of difficult firsts to come, and find peace in the love you shared for so many years and the strength you gave him when he needed it the most.
